  1. Well, the direct event was interesting. New DK game was the main highlight for me, that game looks awesome. The new Fromsoft game is kinda cool but it sounds like it’s gonna be a multiplayer type thing so meh. Not directly Switch 2 related but it was pretty cool getting the release date for the new Deltarune chapters as well, I’m really looking forward to that. I’m a bit sussed out by Nintendo pricing Mario Kart at $80 I think it is? And $90 for the physical edition, which sounds like just a download key from what I read and not an actual physical copy that could be played when servers go offline. 80-90 is just too much for a single game, man. There are very few games I’d say are flat out worth 80 or 90 bucks and a Mario Kart game ain’t one of em. I know there’s the inflation argument to be had about video game pricing, but paying $80 for a game is just crazy. Especially when there’s no way to refund or return the game if you don’t like it. Super especially so when it’s a Nintendo game, games that famously never go on sale or decrease in value on the used market. Can’t wait to pay $70 for a 4 year old game on eBay. Do not like that pricing at all. The actual console price is fine. $450 isn’t great but isn’t terrible either. Do wish that $450 got you an OLED screen though.
  2. My eyesight continuing to get worse and worse sucks. Genuinely the biggest pet peeve I have about getting older, I wanna be able to see things without glasses again like when I was 12.
  3. I’ve never heard of people eating fries with mayo tbh. Definitely prefer ketchup or gravy like with poutine. Or dipped in a frosty if you’re going to Wendy’s.
  4. I had Shaq appear in one of my dreams a few nights ago. I went to a Buffalo Wild Wings and he was just… there, at the restaurant, in all his 7’1 glory. And everyone acted like it was a normal thing, was straight out of a commercial now that I think about it.
  5. Ehhh only if it’s unjustified criticism. And even then only over certain things, I’m not going to bat over a band, game, or show I only kinda liked as a kid.
  6. Animal Crossing on GameCube. Pretty good first game. Although I was 4 at the time, so it was a very reading heavy game for a 4 year old who was just learning how to read at all. Ended up having to have my parents help me with a lot of the stuff.
  7. Are you sure?

  8. 5’9, or like 175cm. Which is dead average. Most of my family tends to be pretty short so I guess I got lucky.
  9. Yes… but I’m probably not going to buy it until a new Animal Crossing game or an actually good Pokémon game comes out. That’s what I did with the Switch originally, held off until New Horizons dropped.
  10. Sunday and Wednesday are ramping up to be interesting weather days. Not expecting much in NW Ohio, but around the Ohio Valley area it’s gonna get dicey. Already a 30% area up for around that area Wednesday, on top of the potential for a moderate risk on Sunday depending on how clear the skies get.

  12. This is a good one. Along with the popularity of flat and minimalist logos. Like Petco, Pringles, and Best Buy as examples.
  13. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that these creatures are some of the must successful hunters on the planet

  15. I’ve honestly never been a huge fan of turning cartoon animals/characters (think SpongeBob for a non-pony example) into full humans. I feel like it kinda strips away some of the uniqueness those characters and their designs had. Obviously I have no problem with folks making their own human designs, but it just isn’t my thing.
  16. October is not only spooky month, it's bat appreciation month as well! Bats, despite usually being out of our sight, are all around us! They're present in every country on Earth! Which means no matter where you live, you almost certainly have multiple species of bats living around you! They're the only flying mammals on earth, which is pretty cool! And both frugivore (fruit eating) and insectivore (insect eating) bats are absolutely vital parts of the ecosystems they live in. Batcon.org is a good resource for learning more about bats in general. I think it's also a good idea to look up the bats that live in your area of the world so you can learn more specific information about them. You can also look up local wildlife sanctuaries that are near you as well, they often have good information on local wildlife on their websites. I also recommend calling your local wildlife sanctuary if you ever find an injured bat or a bat that's out during the day. You should do your best to avoid handling bats if you're not trained and vaccinated. As you could unintentionally injury them further, and they can scratch humans when picked up. As with any wildlife that bites or scratches humans that would mean the bat would have to euthanized to ensure they don't have rabies. If you do have to pick up a bat, for example to move it from a dangerous place such as a road where it might get hit, it's best to do so with thick gloves on while picking up the bat with a towel. Thank you for reading this short post, and happy bat appreciation month!
