  1. Any episode with Maud Pie is a great episode, one of my top fav series characters always!
  2. All Hail The-Soon-To-Be-Born-Princess Flurry Heart! Added bonus in this episode; plenty of insane Pinkie Pie faces.
  3. I would certainly still have signed up if I had to do it all over again, in a heartbeat, and I can't imagine doing it with any other username. Nor will I ever be any Pony other than Night Sky. I wouldn't have it any other way.
  4. Pensive, I have a big decision arriving tomorrow, hopefully. If I have to wait till Wednesday or Friday just to get bad news, that's gonna just make the whole week be lame. I really try to not run my life like this, but it is kind of out of my hands this month. I have been keeping busy, reading, making art, staring at screens, talking to people, but the nail biting is getting to me. Hopefully the wait will all be over tomorrow, for better or for worse.
  5. Watching FIM, The CMC have made their marks and Diamond Tiara is over herself finally! I really am enjoying my rewatch of FIM, I haven't seen these episodes since the pandemic.
  6. This is actually a somewhat troublesome question. One Pony's relaxation is another Pony's abject horror, potentially.
  7. Since getting divorced in 2016, I hardly ever cry anymore. I never did so a lot, but it's almost never now, and anyways, Most of the times I have since then have involved a couple glasses of wine and this song; https://youtu.be/HFWKJ2FUiAQ?si=SFyN4-7GwkqZZQbG Which doesn't really count, since to me this song is romantic and not tragic. I'm not thrilled about the situation. I think I lost something. The emotion and the care is still there, but something is different now.
  8. My thoughts are entirely on tomorrow. I am expecting an email. It could either be good news, or bad news. The email either will or will not arrive. If it arrives it could be good or bad. If it doesn't arrive, that's bad. I am so sick of having to wait two weeks to hear from one person after another who doesn't realize they hold my entire livelihood in their own two hands.
  9. It's just a nice touching thing that the same episode where the CMC finally get their very unique set of Cutie Marks also serves as an equally touching redemption for Diamond Tiara. There's just a symmetry there which speaks to how well crafted and carefully conceived each FIM episode really is.
  10. A somehow ugly episode that nevertheless does deal with some very real issues within the Apple family. Apple Bloom, in the finest traditions of the CMC spends most of the episode acting like a spoiled princess. I have to commend Big Mac for taking it upon himself to improve his situation, and for seeking a solution outside of the norm. As usual RD is there to make sure Scootaloo knows that wining is always the only thing that matters. I wouldn't have thought that Big Mac would have intentionally started smashing his way through things. It was bound to happen somehow, but he became downright aggressive at the end there. What Big Mac really needs to do is migrate to Skyrim. Then he can be a horse, a farmer and a warrior as much as he likes. In orders and combinations which would surprise us all. Those drag skills could come in handy in them thar parts too.
  11. Another mellow, calm sorta slice of life episode featuring world building in Manehatten, a collaborative solution to a non-violent problem and real culture and community withstanding the vicititudes of time. Good warm coffee FIM.
  12. The second of a three episode arc that really features Rarity a lot. Well, RD would have been sunk if not for Rarity's taking on the case. It looked bad. Dash even noticed she'd been ungrateful and owned it. Nice to see the Wonderbolts actually getting accountability and leadership right, for the first time in the series.
  13. The expression on Rarity's face as she looks out the window expecting the Mail she was waiting for. She gets bummed out real quick when it's late, but for just a moment she had this look of happy optimism. It makes me so happy, I took a screen shot of it. Rarity deserves good news and she deserves to be able to expect it. I felt the joy of feeling happy for her. A 100 trillion miles away, around whichever sun, on the world of Equestria, eventually good things can come to good ponies who deserve it. As for myself, I cherish the fact that in spite of this place and what I am, I can still feel happy for her.
  14. Another masterstroke of a Princess Luna episode. Her luminous dream spaghetti sure is a trip, but by now we know to expect nothing less. It speaks to Princess Luna's nobility, and also her sternness that she would create the Tantabus to punish herself for the purpose of protecting Equestria from further calamity. Perhaps it was a not so hot idea. It was important to get that Tantabus reabsorbed into Princess Luna so it cannot act autonomously anymore.
  15. Which ones? Flim and Flam and Cheese Sandwich are three ponies I consider silly and enjoyable.
  16. Not for nothing is she Bill Shatner's favorite pony. If it weren't for her, not only would we not have a charming episode about Grand Pear's return, but I might not even be here. The first time I watched FIM, I didn't recognize Bill's voice, and I was busy. I watched that episode marathon among many others, I wasn't diving into the history of the show per se. I only realized a few months ago that Bill Shatner had come out as a brony first, and then, got a role on the show. I am of a certain age and generation. When I discovered that Captain Kirk is a brony, I had the courage to come out to my brother and my parents and now I am here. My brother is now just as into MLP as I am. Even now that James T can inspire people to be their best selves. And I owe, well maybe all of that to Rainbow Dash. Of course, she would be his favorite. There's no other pony it could possibly have been. I got to attend a lecture the Captain gave at a convention, a long long time ago.
  17. I make a point of letting Dash be Dash and not Coltspain at her. However, the Weather Factory is different. She entirely crossed the line there. She knew it was wrong ahead of time, and look, she and Tank were almost mulched by that fan. Dash is Dash, and I never come at her from a mean place, but the weather factory was just a disaster.
  18. In the world of Nightmare Moon, I would not need sleep. I would be in constant motion 24 hours a night. We're gonna get back to that. Nightmare Night is coterminous with Halloween, here in the human world, and this October, mah Princess haz sooprize for U all...
  19. I've been there. Insomnia is a roommate I know only too well. Ah, the perks of living on the Genesis Planet.
  20. Twilight Sparkle. She is a true scholar, interested in everything. Jimmy is a macrohubrisitc technologist. He's too worried about a predatory patent dispute filed by Space X grounding his own rockets. He doesn't have time to study Griffon history, least of all after what Gilda did to that drone he was flying in their airspace. Jimmy Neutron and Twilight Sparkle in a trivia match would be like the drinking contest during Karen Allen's first scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
  21. A contribution is a contribution, they are best evaluated in terms of quality, not quantity. A small good is always better than its absence. No good effort is ever wasted. To speak to your larger point; Certainly, having turned right you could have turned left. And up to a point that could have had results that would seem to be very different from where we are now. But that's where it gets tricky. What scale are we talking about here? You and your friend? You and the rest of us on this forum? All of humanity? Humanity versus everything else in this universe? This universe next to the multiverse? There is no part of the material creation that is not governed by cause and effect. As long as you are beholden to cause and effect, your actions matter. Whether you are a person, or a universe is irrelevant. Same law, same rules. So, assume your actions and relationships matter. They do. You do. It is not possible in practice to do the calculations that would confirm that all of this is meaningless, and I couldn't care less what a computer we will never build might say. Here in Equestria, there's room for every pony. The utilitarian hand washing they do in the human world to allow themselves to stand by and watch their fellows sink while they do nothing, doesn't apply here. You did show up, you have connected with us. That is the cause that explains the effect of our connection having great intrinsic value.
  22. I've decided to break my YouTube hiatus by finally completing a small pet project I've had in the back of my mind for almost as long as I've had a YouTube channel. The audio quality of the version at the top of YouTube's algorithm leaves a great deal to be desired. About three hours of TLC last night has fixed that for us. Some of you will remember this. Many of you will either have been in diapers or were not born yet when Drew Carey's Geppetto orginally aired in 2000 BCE. Wouldn't have been hard to miss, it's largely forgettable, except that THE Brent Spiner totally stole the show as the villain Stromboli. My ponies, I would never make any less of John De Lancie / Discord, but he is not the only raving genius of a multidimensional, franchise transcending agent of brilliant chaos. Bravo Stromboli! Bravo Brent! Bravo!
  23. Princess Cadence certainly has her own following, as I am fast discovering over on Canterlot Ave. It might be a slightly smaller group, but she has some highly dedicated followers. You are multiversally aligned to the powers of all moons.
