  1. I think civilization is a lost cause, the human condition is broken beyond repair. There I said it, I've explained my reasons in more detail in Twilight Soapbox section of the forum. However I cannot just wave a magic wand and wish for good things to happen. Some people may not understand my reasoning and to be fair it's not like that matters either. Opinions of others won't have an affect on the outcome. Yes, I write my MLP fan fiction as a form of escapism, but in truth since it cannot ever happen, and there's no such thing as Nirvana, all I have as consolation is friends who care, we live in a world where a lot of people do suffer though, so friendship is a mixed bag kind of thing, it doesn't truly erase suffering, not if you live in a world as cruel as our one where people keep fighting wars, spreading misinformation and make prejudice the norm.

  2. I mean, if people truly think they can salvage what's left of the situation, be my guest. They can do whatever they feel they are capable of to see to it that the worst does not happen. However living for such a long time, I have witnessed a pattern of negative behaviour with the population being repeated that it's almost impossible to see a valid case for optimism. However if people do nothing, they cannot expect good things to happen and no good can come of that, so there's that. Division will only be defeated if people fight for justice. I appreciate the fact some people boycott Tesla cars and all, but the truth of the matter is it's not enough, to stop the cruelty being perpetuated by wealthy people in power, it will take a massive uprising or protest, and we don't have that, instead what we have is a large number of people going along with things like transphobia, antisemitism and all the other forms of bigotry, or at least oblivious to it and treat this as if it doesn't even matter, same thing with bullying, bullying is widespread and oftentimes it is victims who get blamed not the other way around, so it does feel like a lost cause to some people. I'm just saying not everybody feels like they have that potential to bring positive change in the world, that is when disillusionment sinks in and it dawns on people that perhaps what people are fighting for, is an illusion. I will be out of my misery when I eventually leave this world, but other people still in it, won't.
  3. I can relate to the fictional character from MLP FIM Princess Luna and her struggles in Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep? episode because I had similar experiences to her, self hating and all that. After reminiscing about that episode as it has been a long time ago since I first watched it, I know what she was going through and I do not wish that on others. This is one of the reasons she is my favourite fictional character, her compassion for Cutie Mark Crusaders is another big reason for why I like her so much. But the reason why the episode about Tantabus made sense is because despite her growth and redemption, she finds it difficult to let go of her troubled past, adding to that is she probably did not feel as appreciated as other Ponies still, making her feel lonely and isolated once more.

  4. I think I might go back to writing my MLP fan fiction soon. And although MLP FIM world is not perfect either, it at least has a fictional population who is willing to listen to each others concerns, to an extent. Some of that writing may have been Hasbro's way of making it child friendly but there's more to it I think. There are things within the show that contextually, only adults would truly understand, such as the complexity of Princess Luna's mental health problems in Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep? episode, even then its execution could have been better with follow up episodes. No, people should not diminish self harm, labelling people who experience that as "attention seeking" or "selfish", and people who do that are doing more harm than good. It's those attitudes among other prejudices people have, that make the real world a horrible place to be in.

  5. I feel like crying right now.

What's up? Mental struggles methinks. Have had so much of that myself.

There was an argument, but it is finished now. I still feel sad about it though.

  6. That's awful, I am sorry to hear that, I was up late last night and about to go to bed so I was not sure how to respond to this one. I don't know if I'd feel the same, the real world is hard to deal with sometimes yes. I would not be in any hurry to die just for that even if that fantasy could come true, which it will not. In fiction becoming a ghost even awaiting reincarnation, can be upsetting for people. I'd also be banking on the idea of rebirth "medicating" the pain of loss in that imaginary scenario. The pain of loss would be the one thing that would make it hard for me to adapt to a place like Equestria, becoming a Pony there like in that fan fiction would not be the issue, but being disconnected from individuals you knew would suck. It's not a terrible afterlife in this fantasy by any means, however it would come with irreversible consequences, I would consent to this rebirth if I could but that would not mean I'd commit suicide.
  7. I see what you mean, no one is around forever though, friends or family. I would not wish to outlive them. In death, we would be separated anyway. The fan fic I made deals with the fantasy world situation where the afterlife eventually allows reunion of loved one's, but each individual must go through spiritual growth. I agree with Night Sky, to be fair, MLP FIM with its themes of friendship and redemption, already borrows heavily from concepts of Buddhism. Buddhism mythology teaches oneness, and that all sentient life in existence, matters. Ideals of friendship, sort of align with those beliefs where kindness is something that must be lived by to bring peace.
  8. Also I think it would be so cool to be a part of Equestria fantasy world, the characters are so cute. Even though I find it sad that Queen Chrysalis got imprisoned in stone at the end, I'd respect Luna and Celestia's judgement if I were in that fantasy world. It sucks, however it's not worth arguing about, Chrysalis invaded, caused trouble, threatened to destroy Twilight and her friends, got her comeuppance and that's all there is to it. That doesn't in any way make Luna or Celestia evil, and it does not make Mane Six evil either. They tried to reform Chrysalis, and so did Starlight Glimmer, and Chrysalis did not listen. In my view they're still endearing characters who do what they feel is best to protect their kingdom, that's all that matters here, the fact that they try their best, and realize some villains are beyond saving.
  9. It's fine, not everyone is going to like or agree with my fan fiction either, even when it's done which would take years, if I ever do get around to finishing it, I'm okay with that, some people may not like the existence of the Bardo in the story because concepts of reincarnation mean characters do die, and this makes it sort of a dark fan fiction. The difference here though, is I create a sense of hope where characters grow, and eventually find their way to peace through consistent acts of kindness and learning from one life to the next, until they eventually reunite with ancestors in Nirvana. And even though this fan fiction is not going to be for everyone, it reflects both my wish for a better world, and with its alternate timeline Equestria thing, Mane Six are still not evil, however they do misbehave sometimes, their behaviour is similar to that in the original show. I wouldn't want to be in the weather factory when it blows up if I were in that imaginary world.
  10. if a creepypasta is to be done of a MLP character at all I'd much rather it be done with a villain character. I have come up with some ideas on how to write Queen Chrysalis to be darker, like using her emotional energy drain as an apparatus of torture, she taunts her victims as they feel their life force fade. In the end I gave up on the idea, however some other fans out there probably have done this already. They could, but such concepts are usually done in parallel universe stories where that's more appropriate. I don't really see a plausible scenario where the main timeline characters would do such a thing, Rainbow Dash may be flawed, but come on, a fascist who eliminates "weak" Ponies is a stretch, don't you think? we have not seen her act in ways in the official show that would make her align with behaviours like that. The worst I've seen Rainbow Dash do in the official show, other than attempt to prevent her pet tortoise Tank from hibernating in winter, and blow up the weather factory at Cloudsdale, is name call and act over confident. Even in an instance where she stopped being friends with a Pony, I don't see it going that far to be honest with you.
  11. No, I mean by the spell sustaining them with energy they need, as a hidden reward for making peace with Ponies in Equestria. The spell doesn't have to result in Queen Chrysalis change of behaviour, however it could be done to maintain symbiosis with Changelings in Equestria as a way to ensure no Changeling is ever tempted to drain love energy from a Pony again.
  12. According to this it appears to be a sort of evil verse, or something like that, where Cloudsdale Rainbow Factory is an execution contraption of sorts. It's edgy, a little bit like Ms Rarity fan fiction is. The paradox of the MLP fandom is they seem to dislike Rarity's apparent but unconfirmed romance with Spike, yet they go out of their way to actually write Rarity behave in ways which are considered demonic. I know not all fans do this however it is something worth a mention. Rainbow Factory | My Little Pony Fan Labor Wiki | Fandom
  13. I'm not particularly drawn to fan fictions that make serial killers out of the Mane Six though, but that's my preference. Others have their own.
  14. Does not change the fact this is a tragic outcome. If she is beyond reform, as what appears to be intended by people who created the show, then fine, keep her locked in stone indefinitely. However the way I see it, is now, she is an eternal prisoner, to never find true happiness ever again as a result of her actions which finally made even Princess Luna and Princess Celestia give up on her. There's something dark and disturbing about the concept of eternal punishment, no matter how you word play it. And while yes, both you and Night Sky are entitled to your opinions, as I am for mine, I still find it sad that some villains just don't find their way out of the darkness.
  15. You might believe that but that doesn't mean characters should not try, in Episode To Where and Back Again, after defeating Queen Chrysalis, Starlight Glimmer tried to ask Chrysalis to stop aggression when she offered her peace, Chrysalis declined that offer of course and swore vengeance, however it was still an honourable thing for Starlight Glimmer to try. Not helping her in this way, immediately assuming all enemies are beyond reform, would have made Starlight Glimmer a hypocrite, and it really shows her character development here. If I were in that fantasy world myself, I could not in good conscience not attempt the same for them, however angry I was, and another important thing to consider is that letting others make you miserable gives them power over you.
  16. Perhaps not, but if Chrysalis did not redeem, it would suck, both for her and other characters. I'm not joking when I say this, if I were in that fantasy world reborn as a Pegasi alternate timeline Equestria, like in my fan fiction, while I may be tempted to retaliate toward Queen Chrysalis sometimes for her rotten behaviour, there would be a mental barrier preventing me because I would not want to escalate conflict or become like her, cruel and selfish. And I think in a normal state of mind it would hurt my feelings, to see her so entrenched in her beliefs that she needs to inflict suffering for the survival of her hive, when Thorax showed a better alternative. Yes, I would like my personality to be like Fluttershy's in that imaginary scenario, kind and gentle. Given my troubled past IRL though, I don't know if I could compare myself to Fluttershy in MLP, I used to get into fights with people, I am sorry for it.
  17. I need to go take my medication again, I don't want to be kept up all night. Plus they act as mood stabilizers as well. Anyone who is on prescription medication I highly recommend you listen to your healthcare professionals. I may have difficulty listening to my own advise sometimes as I forget to take my mine from time to time, however that doesn't mean I encourage others to do something harmful to their health.

  18. I asked Octavia Scratch what she thought of the idea of Queen Chrysalis redemption. It's easy to hate Chrysalis, however I am not going to lie about this, I would think it be cool to see Chrysalis stop being evil. If MLP FIM had carried on not get cancelled, we could have seen this happen.
  19. Are we alone in thinking it was sad that Queen Chrysalis never found redemption? and if My Little Pony FIM continued, do you think it would have been cool to see that eventually happen?

      She is totally redeemable!

There was a video where someone pointed out how she could be redeemed

See, rn, she thinks that ponies messed up her hive and they did. Changelings do not have any actual culture now and they are just trying to copy ponies and be peaceful, making the weak.

If Thorax's brother Pharynx were to meet Crissy and he talked to her, she could see that he is still strong and they her, Pharynx, and Thorax could make a Changeling culture not just based on ponies that everyone is happy with:raritywink:

      Also reformed Crissy is beautiful!

Yup, Changelings and Ponies could live in symbioses in that situation, Changelings if they allied themselves with Ponies even with Chrysalis reformed, they could have a better military to defend Equestria, imagine Chrysalis role as Commander, I'd like that.

  20. Where as Fluttershy was in character and with her knowledge about animals, she took an environmentalist approach to the matter. She really did get screwed in that episode though, I don't often see Fluttershy get treated like this by her own friends of all Ponies, but if they had listened to her, she would not have become Flutterbat in the first place. Twilight Sparkle would not have needed to cast that spell which backfired. Magic being as unpredictable as it is, while it can be used to avert disaster in a pinch, should be a last resort solution to a problem. They were lucky the Flutterbat transformation wasn't permanent.
  21. Applejack did not consider the possibility that Fluttershy was right about the seeds, if there were more apple trees about there would have been an increase in the number of apples grown every year. The bats did not eat the seeds, not having enough crops can be just as detrimental as the crops being destroyed by encroaching animals that take them.
  22. Absolutely, a caring friend would have wanted Flutterbat cured of her curse, not done away with. Fair point that the destruction of the apple farm has more far reaching consequences for Equestria than just depriving them of cider, it's a crop failure, one that would've reduced the efficiency of Applejack's farm. There have been episodes where Rainbow Dash has acted in service for others instead of herself, like in that Wonderbolt episode. But there have been episodes where she could have treated her friends better. in Dragon Quest she was even worse than in Dragonshy, as she forced Fluttershy to see dragons again, knowing full well just how debilitating her phobia was for her. Was humorous to see Rainbow Dash accidentally knocked down by Fluttershy for her behaviour. But after that I'm surprised Princess Celestia did not notice this and intervene to discipline RD. She does notice when Ponies misbehave sometimes, though.
