This is a pony forum. People WILL base their names off of the characters. And if their name is already taken, they WILL alter it so that the system doesn't realize it's taken. Luna47, Lun4, and those are only the ones involving numbers. You have to take a long-term view here.

There is no right path. Not yet anyway. Eating the roses has no visible effect. You do, however, suddenly feel very guilty. The drunken pony promptly falls into a pit. Said pit is inhabited by venomous snakes. They're rather miffed you interrupted their poker game.

However, you notice that they both have fanged grins, and the sun and moon seem to be running away from them. This is quite vexing. No, that wouldn't work. You are PrincessLuna. Someone could be Luna. Someone else could be Princess of the Night. Someone else could be Nightmare Moon. Someone else could be Lulu. My point being, you cannot associate usernames with characters, as a multitude of usernames on this forum are based off characters and most likely the same characters.

Er, no, Berry. We would not be limited by our usernames, nor should we be judged by them. Pinkie Pie the user might set up a tread where she plays as Celestia and assign Mane cast members to whoever signs up, including Pinkie Pie. Or someone could just say "We're not having the mane cast!" or "No ponies from the show!" in their RP and Pinkie would sign up as, oh, some OC she makes. I AM IN SUPPORT OF ROLE PLAY IT WILL ASSIST FORUM INTEGRITY.

If you do start up an RP forum, you should provide a separate OC forum. That way, every user can devote a thread to their character(s) instead of the confusing mish-mash a "Post your own OC in THIS thread" would generate.

None had expected him. To be fair, he was not like anything they'd seen before. A sapient, self aware, mobile black leather robe striding into town was not an everyday occurrence. Nor was it usual for such a being to wave his sleeves and spontaneously create a stage mad completely out of nerf. A few of the more observant ponies noticed that this robe appeared designed for a bipedual being, which only added to their confusion. When the robe leapt into the air and somersaulted thrice onto the stage, it was clear that something was happening. And then it spoke.
