    Logic much?

I agree with you, though my agreement is overshadowed by the fact that there is such a thing as "Hat Simulator 2007"
  4. Oh god... Someone friend requested me in April and I didn't notice until just now... I'm sorry! I wasn't trying to ignore you!

  5. Personally, ever since I started being interested in philosophy to any degree, I've been true egoist, so to speak. Do in no small part to the fact that the philosophy I've embraced is objectivism, which essentially boils down to "logic+egoism." Which isn't to say that I never do anything for anyone. I just don't do it altruistically; Which isn't to say that I always get something tangible out of it. If I help someone with their problems, it's because I care about that person. From an objective standpoint, it's in my best interest to help my loved ones with their problems, because if they're in an unhealthy situation in whatever way, that necessarily means that they are in some way different from how they are when everything's fine, and of course it's been established that I enjoy being around them when they're in the "normal state," so to speak. So, I selfishly help people I care about with their problems. This applies to both the real world and the internet.
  6. Above: the only reason I have ever removed myself from the space directly in front of a computer screen.
  7. It's a great speech, and should have been picked. That said, if the teachers chose the others over it, then their approval isn't worth anything anyway, because they clearly don't have valid standards of judgment. Don't beat yourself up over not getting picked, or let it get to you. If you know that you have made something objectively good (which I can verify you have) then irrational opinions about it, be they positive or negative, shouldn't affect you, and the teachers were clearly irrational in judging the speeches.
  8. So, I saw an ad for that "Teen Titans Go" show. Who is the horrible member of the human race who decided to make Starfire concerned with her appearance?

I've seen an episode of it, it's not THAT bad. Of course the original is god-tier, but still.....and a few of the jokes that appeared would have been better if in the new animation style. And the original style wuld have been way better in every way......

I've seen an episode. It IS that bad. I don't know who thought it was a good idea, but I want to shove everyone involved into a wood chipper. Except Tara Strong, she gets to live.

So, y'know, you can give it a shot, but don't say I didn't warn you.

  9. /)_- Look, I don't know you, I can't say what kind of person you are or aren't. All I'm going to say is this. The timeline photo, does not matter. The not asking why, does not matter. There's no reason to jump to conclusions over such things, they are small things that don't matter between good friends. And on the subject of "scraps," the idea that liking someone your friend used to date is wrong, or rude, or mean, is archaic and wasn't valid to begin with. How a person feels about another person should not be suppressed just because there's history with their friends. It's based on a flawed premise and any friendship that could be torn apart by that wasn't a real friendship to begin with, because real friendships aren't that petty.
  10. While this does take care of some plotholes, my main issue with everything Chrysalis did is it made her, the queen of the changelings, presumably the most competent changeling in existence, look incredibly incompetent and more than a little dumb. While this headcanon does plug the holes, it still makes her look ludicrously sloppy, to the point where it's difficult to believe.

Lol, sorry. The thing I love about that "Loneliness" notgame is how open-ended it is, despite being as simple as walking along a predetermined path. Two friends and I played and had three entirely different experiences. I went after every group of people, always hoping that the next one wouldn't scatter, and at the end I really thought there would be at least one that wouldn't. One friend of mine eventually said "fuck it" and just started walking straight past everyone...

and my other friend kept going back to see if any of the groups had come back.

This notgame is a perfect example of why I bother studying game design, and why I consider it one of the most beautiful art forms.

  11. Actually, similarities in appearance have been pointed out between "this tool" and Shining Armor, leading to the the theory that "this tool" is actually alternate universe Shining. I'm inclined to believe it, since Shining himself is sort of a tool.

Well, clearly I don't devolve into personal insults as that would undermine my point. Doesn't mean I can't use reason to prove them wrong and stupid.

Arguing with trolls is still pointless tho... Sorry.

Well, as an objectivist, I can't just not do so. It's a morality thing.

  16. So... It would appear that I've reached a point where it's medically impossible for me to get enough of Rina Chan's singing voice.

  17. Why am I suddenly not on this site every day? I need to fix that.

  18. Today, I'd like to talk about something slightly different. Rather than rant like normal, I'm just gonna set up my next entry. That's right, an entry just to tell you about my next entry. Oh, I'm such a loser. Anyway, tomorrow I'll be at the Canterlot Gardens convention, and on either Sunday or Monday I'll post an entry just sort of generally talking about what goes on, sort of sharing my experiences with all of you. Just kinda talking in a laid back sort of way. After that, I'll return to my regularly scheduled rants. So, see ya then.
  19. That sounds very interesting. I personally love reading about both art theory and science, so the two combined into one book sounds like it's definitely worth a read.
  20. Why hello, Matthew. I'm Gabe, though I'd prefer to continue to be called Nilkad. From the looks of this blog, we seem to have a fair amount in common. I too am a gamer, I enjoy programming, I'm currently working on designing a game, and I too firmly believe that Fluttershy is the best pony. I look forward to reading your future blogs.
  21. Well, while that's certainly a fair point, I don't like to sit by and let any group be generalized, on the internet or off, whether I'm part of that group or not. That said, I don't have to be hateful while doing so. Rather than hurling useless insults that don't help my point, I just disprove any and all incorrect points that were mentioned by the person making the generalization. In this way, they are proven wrong, if they try to continue it just makes them look stupid, and I successfully made a point without making an ass out of myself. I like to call it the orbital logic cannon. It's my number 1 weapon against stupid.
