Atlantic Rim is a spoof of Pacific Rim made by the Asylum film studio which has made such well known movies such as Sharknado. The Asylum make mostly so called 'Mockbusters' which are low budget spoofs of current Hollywood movies.

One fan idea that I like is that Scootaloo's parents (Or just parent) are in the Royal Guard and are just not around Ponyville very much. As such she likes with a relative who is either embarrassing for her or works a lot. -

Its Guillermo del Toro so its not gonna a Bay explosion fest. Del Toro is insisting that the human element of the story is in many ways more important than the actual robot and monster fights. The fights are supposed to be some of the best we've seen, but its always nice when there is something more.

Exactly! I've heard a lot of people who don't know much about this movie say this is going to be a transformers/godzille ripoff, but from the reviews that are out yet its clear its not for those informed people. Have a few more cool clips: Ron Perlman is always really awesome (Especially in Hellboy). I'd almost definitely buy some kaiju remains from him.

Reminds me of a comic someone made which has Rainbow throw Twilight with a catapult in that scene assuming she could fly, but then learning she didn't know how. Can't remember who made that comic however. -
I made it my business to watch this with the same open mind as I had when I watched Friendship is Magic for the first time. And I enjoyed it. The whole Flash Sentry crush thing I wish could have been left out, but otherwise the movie didn't really devolve into a typical high school drama thing like many feared it would. -
I don't think she is homeless. I think the reason we haven't seen her family is simply that she isn't related to a member of the mane 6 so we haven't had a reason to see her family just yet (No properly Scootaloo centric episode besides the nightmare one). I think she just has busy parents and no siblings and as the other CMC's have older sisters she looks to Rainbow Dash to fill that role in her life (Especially as Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom have such strong bonds with their sisters and she feels left out).

Chrysalis is more a villain that does what she does because its in her nature. Changelings aren't depicted in the show (Or comics) as being creatures that are inherently good, like ponies. As such being deceptive and taking ponies places to leech the love they receive is something they do out of nature and instinct. Some may argue that Discord was "evil" and was "redeemed", but he was never truly evil to begin with and he is more of a trickster than a tyrannical queen bent on domination of Equestria like Chrysalis is shown to be. Still, his whole redemption thing is very sketchy and he seemingly gives up his old ways way too easily and chances are he's not really on the side of good (Its fun to play all the sides to him). -

I don't see why you don't make more digital art. It helps show some of the more finer details for this picture (Especially on the mane). Still, great OC. The colours will help me finish my vector of her. Here you go:

This is beyond awesome!! I live how Ion has her ponytail (I take it you drew this very recently). This highlight Flares caring personality and I guess Ion had an experiment gone wrong . And yes those are scars on Flare's cheek. They are an old wound from before she was in the guard.
