  1. I love Magical Mystery Cure. I'm okay with it being "rushed" because in my opinion, a fast-paced episode is better than an episode that's slower than Boast Busters. I don't love Mysterious Mare-Do Well, but contrary to popular opinion, it's far better than Boast Busters. If you ask me, both episodes have the same flaws, but Boast Busters flaws are up to eleven. Also, I actually like Spike episodes, but Spike At Your Service is the weakest. And the episode that I think is vastly overrated is A Canterlot Wedding. In my opinion it's not bad, but weak compared to the season 1 and season 3 finales.
  2. I'm not sure if I came up with a good title, but what I wanted to title this would have been too long. What I'm asking is what kind of direction does a show have to go in order for you to say that it has jumped the shark? What is considered good and what is considered bad? How many consecutively bad episodes will you watch before you drop the show completely? Do you welcome change, or do you want your show to stay the same every season? Did the show really decline in quality, or do you just have a Nostalgia Filter? What shows do you think jumped the shark and why? For me, the only show I can say that has truly jumped the shark in my opinion is Fairly OddParents. Inevitably someone's going to say "You forgot Spongebob!" but I haven't seen any of the recent episodes, so I can't say anything about that. So why do I think Fairly OddParents jumped the shark? Is it because of poof? No, but that's when it happened. You see, Poof isn't my problem. My problem is that I feel like they ran out of ideas, and created Poof as a plot device. I don't hate Poof, but he's only there because they ran low on ideas. Even before Poof, the show's humor had started to decline. There used to be brilliant humor, and now every episode is full of stupid running gags. To be fair, the older episodes had a lot of running gags, but at least they were funny. There are other cartoons that have been accused of Jumping The Shark for similar reasons. I can't remember much of it, but once Dil was introduced to Rugrats, that's when people say it jumped the shark. Honestly, the only thing I remember about Dil was The Rugrats Movie which is one of my favorite animated movies of all time. I can't say I hate Dil, considering that he was a big role in one of my favorite movies. People also say that Powerpuff Girls jumped the shark during their 5th and 6th seasons. I don't agree, but I can't argue with them either. Season 5 was the weakest and Season 6 was the second weakest. But I'm not just going to say the show Jumped The Shark. But I am a very forgiving person. I even forgave them for that awful garbage known as "Toast Of The Town." Seriously, if you've never seen Powerpuff Girls, don't watch Toast Of The Town. Watch something from the first 4 seasons first. So, that's all I have to say about Shark Jumping. What do you have to say?
  3. Well, before MLP I watched Powerpuff Girls, which was the reason I gave MLP a chance. I have seen the first episode of Littlest Pet Shop, which was a 2 parter, but after seeing part 1, I really didn't want to watch part 2, unlike MLP where I gave both parts a shot. I think I'm willing to watch some Soujo and Magical Girls shows a shot.
  4. Here are my thoughts on each of the season finales: Season 1: The Best Night Ever This one is good, and it's cool that it was built up to throughout the season, but I'm gonna have to knock it off a few points for putting Fluttershy out of character. Don't get me wrong, it's hilarious, but the more I think about it, the less I like it. And also, Twilight is pretty boring in this episode. 8/10. Season 2: A Canterlot Wedding Well this one had some flaws.... 1. Queen Chrysalis isn't very bright. She feeds on the love of other ponies, yet when Cadence uses love to save the day, she calls it a "ridiculous sentiment." 2. That totally awesome, amazing hilarious action scene where the mane 6 were fighting the changelings....was absolutely pointless. (But it was still awesome!) 3. We get to learn a lot about the fake Cadence, but barely anything about the real one. 4. I hate Love Is In Bloom. "But Flutterbass. That isn't a valid argument." Well people say they don't like Magical Mystery Cure because it's a musical, so I get to say that I don't like Love Is In Bloom. 7/10 Season 3: Magical Mystery Cure I loved it! I'm glad they made it a musical, otherwise I would be saying that it needed a 2nd part. If you didn't know, they wanted this season to have a musical before they knew that this would be a musical. They chose to make this the musical, rather than, say Spike At Your Service. I don't need time to process what is going on. There has been plenty of time to get that from the previous episodes. This doesn't need to be an epic 7-part episode, (although I do understand if you think it should have been a 2-parter). I like it because it did what it needed to do, in a very entertaining way. The pacing is fine (unlike Boast Busters) and after watching it seven times, I can finally say that I could not be more satisfied. However. It does not score a 10 for one reason: Starswirls spell wasn't properly explained, and since that is an important part of the story, M.A. Larson should have put a little more thought into it. 9/10 So, my favorite finale is Magical Mystery Cure. What's yours?
  5. I just saw someone post a topic about Ableton, and I thought that now that I have started using Reason, I wanted to know if there are any musicians here who use it. I have been sort of getting used to it, but the thing that really frustrates me is the piano roll. Well, maybe it's not really a "piano roll" but the only other DAW I've had experience with other than Reason is FL Studio, which actually had a piano roll. I really wish Reason had a piano roll, because the sequencer is just frustrating to use. However, I do still like Reason. I just wish there was something that was like a mix of Reason and FL Studio. That would be perfect for me. I'm not a "brony musician" (as in my music is not related to MLP) but I have considered making pony music. The music I have made unfortunately, isn't that great, and I need more practice.
  6. Cartoons: Adventure Time Regular Show Gravity Falls Phineas And Ferb Dan Vs. Transformers Prime Powerpuff Girls Anime: School Rumble Puella Magi Madoka Magica Angel Beats Clannad The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya Code Geass I don't watch any live action tv. It doesn't interest me for some reason....
  7. Mine is a tie between Dragonshy and Magical Mystery Cure. Dragonshy for being the episode that turned me into a brony, and also just for being one of the best, and Magical Mystery Cure for being my favorite finale.
  8. This episode has some great development for Applejack and Rarity, although for some reason, it's not one of my favorites. I don't know why, there's nothing wrong with it, but it doesn't resonate with me for some reason.
  9. I'm not incredibly spiritual, but I do meditate every once in awhile. I don't meditate to "become enlightened" and I don't believe in the law of attraction (at least not in a spiritual way) but I do meditate and astral project sometimes.
  10. Well, I read the hub's 2013-2014 plans, and it says that it's coming out this summer and is supposed to be a series finale. I don't remember what it's called though.
  11. I really want Sunset Shimmer to be in season 4, but I honestly don't see it happening, which sucks because she has such a cool design.
  12. Are you talking about the humans, Transformers or both? I believe that a lot of the character designs are based off of the Michael Bay movies.
  13. I've never been a huge fan of the Transformers franchise in general, but when I found out that Transformers Prime is getting a TV movie, I suddenly became interested. I don't know why that was enough to get my interest. Maybe it's because this might be the hub's first ever original movie. (please correct me if I'm wrong.) I decided to watch it, and now I'm hooked. I'VE ONLY JUST FINISHED THE FIRST SEASON, SO NO SPOILERS PLEASE.
  14. If this were to happen, it would be Twilicorn all over again. Even if it was just a temporary thing. People don't like it when characters get "power-ups."
  15. I have a few, but I've never decided on one... Maybe Bridle Gossip, because the moral is don't judge a book by its' cover. (which is what non-bronies do to mlp) But don't tell them the moral. Let them see it themselves. A lot of bronies say Lesson Zero, and while it is a good episode, it isn't really a good representation of the show as a whole, so I personally don't reccomend it for a first time watcher.
  16. This is the episode that convinced me that I'm a brony. I was almost going to give up after watching Boast Busters, but I saw the title of this episode, and immediately watched it. I have been a brony ever since.
  17. You do realize that Littlest Pet Shop is delayed until winter too right? Do you think it's because the Littlest Pet Shop fanbase is outraged by the most recent episode, so the Littlest Pet Shop staff tossed season 2 right out the window and started over to make the wittle fans happy? Seriously, stop making anti-twilicorn threads. it's getting old...
  18. What episodes do you think need more appreciation from the fandom? Here are mine: May The Best Pet Win: Even the song in the episode is underrated. This is definitely one of my favorite episodes of the show, but it doesn't seem incredibly popular. I don't think anyone hates it, but I wish it would get more love. It's such a fun episode, and one of the funniest to. Dragon Quest: I admit, it's not one of my absolute favorites, but I've always wondered why people don't like it. One Bad Apple: My favorite CMC episode! I love it just for being one of the most adorable episodes ever! Magical Mystery Cure: To be fair, I'm not even sure if I can call this episode "underrated" but it does get a lot of hate. It took me a few watches to finally form an opinion about, but I have to say, that it was a great season finale. Although I don't think it would have made a good series finale, so I'm glad it's not.
  19. I rewatch every single episode. Even Boast Busters and Mysterious Mare Do Well. I think that every episode has rewatch value, even the episodes that I favor the least.
  20. Worst episode of the series in my opinion.... Trixie is the only thing I like about this episode. Why? Well, Trixie makes a great show-mare, and it's obvious that she's just performing a magic show. Of course she's going to call herself "The Great And Powerful Trixie." What magician would call themselves mediocre during their performance? What the mane 6 do in this episode is just rude. Would you interupt a magician's performance to tell them that they are "boasting?" And I really don't like snips and snails. But luckily, we don't see them that often, and when we do, it's never as bad as this episode.
  21. Good episode. Not one of my absolute favorites, but I can't say I find anything wrong with it. Although, I'm not sure if I want to see Gilda again in Season 4. I want to see the griffon kingdom though.
  22. This is a fantastic episode, although it's a shame that this is the most development we'll ever get out of Applejack.
  23. I love this episode. It's a fantastic way to show off the flaws of the mane 6. I guess that's what S1E2 lacked. We didn't get to see their flaws to much, but this episode made up for it.
  24. I really love part 1, because it's a hilarious satirical deconstruction of the show's genre. Twilight is reacting to the ponyville ponies the same way that the average person would react to technicolor ponies. I don't love part 2 as much however.... It's not a bad episode. It's just weak imo compared to part 1. I really like Giggle At The Ghosties, and the Nightmare Moon scene, but overall, this episode could've been better.
  25. Dragonshy is the episode that convinced me. I liked the first 5 episodes, but not as much as I do now, and they were only good enough to keep me watching (at the time). Than I watched Boast Busters and I almost gave up. Than I gave Dragonshy a chance and I fell in love.
