Talemage 47 March 20, 2012 Author Share March 20, 2012 i have found a easier and better way, we can simply get a better mesa from a ppa repository.. the ppa is ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa to add it first add the reposiory sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa update, sudo apt-get update then try installing the new mesa from it sudo apt-get install mesa see how that goes... Couldn't find package mesa. I tried doing that earlier today. Anyway, it's really late, it's around 12:30AM here, I need to sleep. I'll get back to you when I wake. Twilight Sparkle is best pony, and I'm willing to explain logically for that to be true! By the way, mine and Twilight's personalities have a lot of similarities, maybe hardly any difference. I'll get back to you when I wake. try updating again, also try sudo apt-get dist-upgrade the ppa, might not be backported(combatible) with lucid so we may afterall need to compile it, don't worry i will help you. if you really want we can have a teamviewr session, ill do my best to get this working. are you sure you know what you're doing? Yes, you see mesa is the library that implements OpenGL, its what makes OpenGL work in the OS. the problem you have is that your mesa only supports OpenGL 1.4, which isn't good enough for your game to run. i have found however that later mesa versions started supporting your graphics chip for OpenGL 2. so all we need to do is get a later version that will support OpenGL 2 for Your Graphics Chipset. We'll just see if we're both online. Nevermind, I'll just try to see if it works once I install Ubuntu 12.04(Precise Pangolin). If it doesn't, then I'll stick with what I have.
