Sweet! Announcements of Mega Sceptile and Swampert were all I really needed, but I hope we'll get more new megas than those and the legendaries too.

I like the main character redesigns as well, and if people don't then we should be able to customize them like in X/Y anyway.

Overall it's all looking to be astounding so far.

I knew they'd make the megas for the starters.  But mega Diancie was a surprise.  especially since we haven't even gotten regular Diancie yet.

So there's going to be Megas in the new games?  That's awesome!  Really wasn't expecting that.  I still need to finish up my copy of X so I can jump right in to a copy of R/S.

I love how they make the remakes of the originals, they are always great.

I loved the R/S/E original game a lot, but I have a few problems with the game.

 

1.brenden's hair was white, but now its brown, why did ya have to change his hair, I loved his hair white.

 

2.May's hair is blonde, why is that I liked her hair brown better.

 

3.they really changed how brendens/mays faces look, like really, why would they change their looks from the original.

 

4.Septile's mega evolution is awesome, but his tail looks like a Christmas tree haha, but still cool.

 

5.(my favorite starter from this series) Swampert's mega evolution looks weird, like he looks like a gigantic body builder. I like his normal form better, but anyways I'll get over it eventually.

 

Im still gonna get my pre order for Omega Ruby and see if the new version is better than the original based on the story/looks.

 

Hopefully they make a remake of Emerald, cuz that was my favorite game out of the original R/S/E series

Why Mega Diancie? Diancie itself is already going to be a limited event Pokemon, so why give it a limited Mega Evolution as well? The presence of Mega Blaziken there really makes me hope you can find Blazikenite in-game this time. I actually like Mega Marshtomp more than Mega Sceptile and that's saying something considering I don't really like Marshtomp. 

 

Not that Mega Sceptile isn't awesome in his own right, though Lightning Rod seems like an odd ability choice. All the Pokemon that have had Lightning Rod before were either Electric or Ground type and thus pretty much immune. Grass and Dragon aren't exactly weak to electric attacks, but it'll still hurt. You do know that now this means that Nintendo has to Mega Evolve all the remaining starters, and what you want to bet that the Gen 2 starters aren't next in line?

 

So Groudon and Kyrogre are "Primal" instead of Mega? But Primal Dialga was Dialga driven insane and stripped of all it's higher reasoning, thus turning into a monster that cared only for self-preservation at any cost.

Serebii says that primal groudon and kyogre are the result of ancient devolution... It's nice that we finally have some kind of backstory regarding their new forms. It makes me wonder why their primal forms are more powerful...

 

The only thing I'm kind of sad about is that the mega's abilities aren't nearly as useful as Blaziken's. To make the mega thing more fair, I would have given Swampart sap sipper and Skeptile contrary. The swift swim is pretty much useless because swampart is more of a bulky water and lightning rod is just a waste in 1 on 1.

In terms of what?... In general, I like Treecko's line the most. It isn't viable in competitive play (especially in comparison to the banned speed boost Blaziken), but I have a bit of an attachment to it. Treecko was the first grass starter that wasn't about defence or status infliction. Sceptile has decent special attack, a massive speed stat and a move pool that isn't terrible. Plus I can't help but love Sceptile's design...

 

I wonder how they'll implement these new megas in X and Y though... Are they already in the game or is there going to be a patch? This is almost like they added whole new new pokemon to this generation now that I think about it...

I don't know how other Hoenn lovers would react to the redesigns, but let me say that I friggin' love them. Unlike the original designs, these redesigns fit the tropical atmosphere of Hoenn. May and the Team Aqua Grunts are my favourites of the new designs. :3

 

Mega Sceptile and the Prehistoric Pokémon are great. Mega Secptile is the first Mega I truly like, since I found most Megas to be underwhelming in design. The idea of Prehistoric Pokémon is lovely, and I do hope that we get more in the future.

 

I am disappointed with the Team Boss's redesigns and Mega Swampert, though. :c

Brenden's hair has always been brown from the start. Take a look at his official Emerald art, you can see a bit of hair above his ear.

 

Also, I don't think May has had blonde hair at all. She has been a brunette from the start.
