So I was watching My Little Pony, and saw Octavia playing her cello , so I tried my best and drew it. What ya think ? :) I feel amazed of what I drew , considering this is the first time I drew a pony ^-^

...I like it! Its really awesome for your first pony drawing!

Wish i could say that for myself too, but when i first started drawing ponies, i gave life to hundreds of abominations which i shall not speak about...

I think it is quite good, but at the same time there is something odd about her eyes... I am not really sure, what exactly though :c I am no expert in drawing myself sadly, but I think that if this is Your first drawing, then You did pretty great job!

Op, if you want real advice, I mean REAL advice, don't listen to people who aren't even going to tell you what they like about your picture. I've seen people here go around posting the exact same response "Awesome!" in each thread, as if mindlessly. I'll be honest, as I should be, there are not massive proportional problems, but they still exist all around. The head appears mishapen. The right front leg looks too short (or the left too long), the lower left leg is too skinny, the eyes and pupils are not shaped and sized right, and there's a strong lack of depth, due to a lack of lighting and shading. I assume it was a show image ref you used, which don't really have all the shading they should. Other than that, the quality in the coloring and linework is pretty ugly. For the most part the linework is okay, but there are a few bits that are too broken looking. The coloring is just messy for the most part. Overall it's too messy looking.

You should compare your's to the reference (assuming it's from the show and not fanart), you need to be able to look at it and see what you did wrong. It's not a horrible first attempt, at least. You're much better than a lot of people who are new to drawing.

If you want help, I strongly suggest you read my thread here:

But try not to get overwhelmed by the information. Hopefully this is useful to you.

Excuse me? I liked and appreciated the drawing and didn't have any negative feedback because I'm not an artist! There's nothing I hate more than when people criticize my plushies when they don't even make plushies themselves or have actual useful or detailed feedback, so why would I do it to someone else? FFS.... Now I'm not allowed to like someone's work... Smh...

You're allowed to like whatever you honestly like (keyword: honestly), but.....well if you can't tell what's wrong with something a drawing, than I don't know what to say, because you can't critique it, not thinking there's anything wrong, but saying you like it when something's seriously wrong is bad because it's no good for the artist seeking feedback. However, if you can't tell when a piece of art has major flaws, you wouldn't even know if you were giving poor feedback in the first place.

All I can think to say is that if you don't understand anatomy, lighting & shadow than you shouldn't give any feedback to the artist, because you just don't know if they did a good job or not. And if at some point you do learn those things, I would imagine you'd look back at the piece and no longer like it.

At least say that you don't know if the artist did things right if you're gonna say you think it looks good (so that at least then they know not to take your feedback seriously so they're not at risk of being deluded into thinking they did a good job when they didn't), and only say you like it if you honestly do. Don't be afraid to hurt their feelings. That's all I'm saying.

It's really good! I love it so much. The only thing is that the eyes are a little strange. The right eye's pupil is a little too big, and should've had a shine on it in my non-expert opinion. I think it's excellent for your first drawing. Keep being awesome!

This is beautiful! Really, really well done :) I wouldn't have thought this was your first time :) I'm also pleased that you're pleased/seem confident in your work, I wish I could be the same!
