So I was browsing randomly and thought, why not everypony here get together, and we stream a movie?! We could have a pole on what time would be best for ya'll and then once a month, maybe twice we al get together and somepony streams a movie and we can all gather round in a chat room and watch

Sol! Some good things so far,

 

[MOVIES]

Seeing a lot of requests for classic disney movies, and yeah, that's great! Disney is pretty much a part of every kids life in one way or another, and if it's not because you really like it, it'll be because of Nostalgia. If I remember correctly there are a few Disney movies with MLP:FiM voice actors? (spot the actor... variant)

There are still a few here for classic horror, we can of course do a combination of both, perhaps at one time, we watch the Disney movie, and later that night watch a second (the more classic) or just another day entirely, Mor on this below

 

Comedy also seems to be really taking off. It wouldn't be difficult to find a comedy everypony enjoys

Age appropriate, though we could at least push PG-13, if we went with an older crapy movie we could all lay at then we could avoid that issue I fully understand there probably isn't one single movie everypony out there would like. But we could go for themes, and it's doesn't have to be a one shot thing. Like I said, maybe a couple times a month?

 

We could set up a pole for which time would be the best, and we could adjust it from time to time so everyone gets a good movie showing. Maybe multiple times? I have the spare time to do that

 

I have heard somehow using Netflix, or rather any video streaming site. And then using the chat system perhaps that the wonderful Feld0 has for us here?

I will be working on this for a bit, it can of course change, and if we pick a time, it wont be set for every viewing.

 

For most ponies here, it'll have to be at night for some, and morning for others. We should be able to make that work. With this, the obvious first thought is weekend. But We can look at everyponie's timezone

We SHOULD do this, but with really BAD movies only, like the worst ever, find a list of the worst movies ever and we judge for our selves, maybe we could do this in the synch tube, if its on youtube or the other sites it supports (but for some people, synchtube is buggy, maybe a stream is the best idea...)

This could also branch out to sharing any movie time recipes?! We all have the famous popcorn, but if somepony has something special it would be fun

Ah, well I could but I only watch certain movies. Unless someone here is up for Zulu and John Wayne movies.

 

So it depends on the movie. In regards to movietime recipes, may I suggest a massive, and I mean MASSIVE bowl of deep fried or asian style honeycomb tripe and some of that really nice sarsparilla to drink. Does the trick for me anyway. EVERYTIME.

Good idea. Hie, thee shalt dost movie hither this month! Anyways, you should always keep this page updated for us to see. Like you can post the current movie choices, and then create a voting system from the fixed movie choices, and then we decide which days are most ponies available. Soon enough, we'll be watching movie.

 

As for movie recepies: a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, (When I was 7) I used to live in Singapore, and the movie theater there has this plain nacho with melted cheese thing. IT'S REALLY GOOD. Basically nacho dipped into melted cheese. Sounds fattening, but its worth the try.

 

By the way, I don't really mind what movie we watch, as long as its not horror, and is generally rated with good scores on reviews.

Exactly. Both of those movies pretty much trancended "Cult" status. Those are more household names than anything. You can say "The Force" and almost everyone knows what your talking about, or you can ask what the first two rules of Fight Club are, and most people could tell you.

 

Cult would be more along the lines of The Rocky Horror Picture Show or A Scanner Darkly.

 

Either way, I'm down with this.

Movie recommendation suggestion things: I don't really have any. I've only ever seen 1 movie I didn't like, and even that one I'd sit through and watch again, if only to giggle and criticize it >.<

Sounds great! Old terrible horror movies are always fun to watch with a bunch of people just to laugh at but it would be hard to find an age appropriate one. Ooh how about one of those old giant monster movies? They always have funny moments.
