How would you think the fans of a teen drama will react to their show being ...

The teen drama, which has moved from its high school trappings into one where the main character goes on adventures and learns lessons, has evolved into an excellently-developed drama, where the main character (as an adult) deals with the problems of her surroundings.

How would you think her fans would react, as the teen drama and its successor series destroyed and inverted cliches so much, everything looks so well-developed?

The true die hard fans of the show will continue watching it. But the majority of the fans, since this is a teen drama show we are talking about, are only watching it because it relates to them currently. So unless the preteens and teens turn into adults in order to relate more to the struggles of the character, most will stop watching it. Because they watch it to see cliche highschool drama, because they are in or nearing being in highschool.

I would expect them to rage, as the teen show skips the prom (or mentions it passingly while focusing on different adventures for the girl/woman), minimizes the scenes with her boyfriend/makes him as another independently full-developed chararcter, and sympathizes with the bullies. And then, the second show (in which the girl is an adult) has her as an independent character who faces her struggles in un-cliche'd situations.

Tl;dr: I expect many fans to hate these shows because they departed very much from the cliche settings.
