gaming Anyone having fun with the Wii U?

I am having a great time and don't regret getting a Wii U. I had a fallout with the 6th generation when it came to Nintendo. I am glad that they're actually doing much better. The Wii was only a console that had this great run from 2006-2008. Everything post Smash Brawl, was not that good. Skyward Sword was the last good Wii game. But it was also not the greatest Zelda game.

I saved some money and actually made out great with the Wii U. I think in this gen, it's going to be strictly Wii U and PC. I have some reasons.

The Xbox One is awful

The PS4 has nothing at all for me. Also Ratchet and Clank and those exclusives won't work on me anymore. They're inferior to the PS2 counterparts.

Nintendo does not make the same game over and over again. ALL companies do this. We are just attached to the characters and that's what blinded me. Nintendo, whether you love them or hate them. They're not afraid to be different. I got the New Super Mario Bros+New Super Luigi U 32GB black edition. I also purchased Mario Kart 8. With the promo in Mario Kart 8, I downloaded Wind Waker HD for free and it didn't take long. I also got Super Mario 3D World. Sorry for describing too much. But I can't help but get back into Nintendo again.

Me and my friend played Mario Kart 8 on the couch together and it felt the way gaming should be. About fun. Something doesn't resonate with the new Sony and especially Microsoft for me.I know I played Mario and Zelda over and over again. But these games try new things and I am happy to play them and explore.

Anyone here having fun with their Wii U. I actually admit to being wrong and talking trash about it a couple years ago.

Wii U is awesome, my stepbrother has one and its fun to play on it. People are just so hung up on the quality of games but honestly its gameplay that's the best. Wii U is my favorite although I don't have one, and Xbox is just barely beating the PS4 in my ranking.

Got Earthbound on my cousin's Wii U and he even started to play it himself. Thanks to the VC for bringing him a game he might otherwise not have ever touched.

I would really like to have a Wii U of my own however. Would really like to play Wonderful 101

Going to disagree very much with your opinion on the Xbox One and PS4, as I've had both and find them very enjoyable consoles.

As for the Wii U, I've owned several. From my personal experience, I wouldn't recommend getting one unless there are plenty of games that you know you would enjoy out or coming soon.

I'm going to get another one, I've had like 2 or 3 already.

Let me explain this first: One of the biggest problems I've had with the Wii U is it keeps breaking in some way or another, I've had Nintendo on speed dial I've called them so many times.

Another thing, while I could adjust to it, the controller/tablet is too big. Seriously.

Thankfully, Nintendo has promised some good looking games coming out for it in the future.

Such as:

Sonic Boom

Super Smash Bros 4

Star Fox

Hyrule Warriors

Those are my most anticipated as of now.

So, like I said, the console breaks. On top of that, it can easily have connection issues between the Gamepad and the console, which I had a ton of experience of. Nintendo said it can be things like your modem, or even your phone. Nice try making a console for families and gamers, Nintendo.

If you handle it like china, it will last..for maybe a year.

It's not the best console to own, but it will do the job if you handle it with lots of care.

I only started having fun with the Wii U with Mario Kart 8.

Mario Kart 8 is a blast, but it took them forever to release it... And the only two games in the future I even currently have to look forward to are Super Smash Bros. and Zelda U. Mario Kart 8 should last me a while still, but it's disappointing to still see so little in the future. =(

I love the game on the wii u and have played mk8. And stuff with freinds! It's great, fun to play and you can easily pick it up and play it :)!

I do have a 3ds xl and it's pretty similar, when you have a group of people together playing its epic! The wii u ans ds have kept the things that I liked most about consoles, playing with freinds and in the same room! Ps4 and xb1 focus less on this, and so I don't have neither, instead I have a PC which is more useful and has cheaper and better games over those.

I got a Wii U recently, and I've been having a lot of fun with Mario Kart 8. I mainly got the Wii U for the new Zelda, but that's not gonna come out for a long time lol. I'm hoping the new Zelda is gonna be better than Skyward Sword cause I wasn't very impressed with that game.

I'm with you on the Wii U. So far I'm enjoying the games I currently own!

(I wonder if there will be a Brony tournament in Mario Kart 8.)

Yeah, I have a Wii U. You can get Most Xbox One and PS4 games on the previous systems or the PC versions, like say if you have a Xbox 360 and wanted Titan Fall, apparently it's on the Xbox 360 and PC as well, so what's the point in getting an Xbox One just to play Titan Fall when it's on a system you may already own? They do have their own exclusives, but very few. It isn't as strong as the PS4 and Xbox One, but the games it has makes me happy. The games on the eShop are plentiful, including the virtual console games. The Wii U is backwards compatible with Wii game discs, unlike the PS4 and Xbox One, plus you could transfer your games and save data to the Wii U. Heck, the Wii U is the only system that has a component/AV output, so if you have to play on a tv that is HD (or standard definition) that has component inputs but doesn't have HDMI inputs, you can play the Wii U on it without having to either buy a new TV or buy a external converter. I actually love the idea of the gamepad and being able to play games off screen like if you want to watch a show or if someone needs to use your tv. My TV before my current new one broke before and I had to wait a while before being able to purchase one, thankfully, I was still able to play my games off screen (plus you could play all Wii games and virtual console games off screen on the gamepad too). I've never had any problems with the Wii U System. This is why I stuck with Nintendo all these years. I get to play games the very second I purchase them and put the disc in my Wii U without stupid day 1 dlc, DRM, or the games having problems and have to wait for it to be fixed, like what happened with GTA V where most people couldn't play it because the system they had (the older and bigger models) wouldn't run it (my dad had to buy a new Xbox 360 just to play GTA V). Even some new systems had trouble running the game.
