Okay, so I'm gonna go ahead and post in here.

By the way, if my posts are annoying you guys, can you guys please tell me instead of just letting me make myself look like a jackass, please??? I will try to stop reposting stuff so much too. Also, if you guys could stop assuming crap about me that isn't true, that would be great.

So I bought System of a Down's self-titled album today. I can't recall if anyone else here is a SOAD fan, but I'll post up a couple songs anyway.

Also this is, what, departure number five?

Actually, this was the first time I ever actually stopped posting on the metal thread. The other few times, I was only considering it, but I changed my mind and decided to continue posting.

Yaaay, you're back! :yay:

Anyway, back to the metals. Here's some Pantera.

Here's the funny thing, Pantera was actually the first metal band I listened to. Probably because of that Spongebob episode

Yeah, technically, Pantera was the first metal band I listened to also, because they did that song on that Spongebob episode. I remember when I got the Spongebob soundtrack when I was a kid and that was my favorite song, and I would go fucking crazy cause it was so awesome lol xD

So RD92's back on here, well whatya know I was right. So I listened to Norma Jean's Redeemer like Moog told me too. It was pretty good. And I'm listening to this ATM.

So I'm actually sitting down and listening to the whole Reign In Blood album for once. It's about time I listened to a whole Slayer album. I always liked Raining Blood, so I figured I would like the other songs well enough.

I remember the first time I listened to Reign in Blood, I was in eighth grade. Oh the eighth grade, without a doubt the worst year of my life. And now the terrible memories are coming back. I still remember how cool I used think I was because I liked bands like At the Gates and Celtic Frost and everyone else was into Shakira and crap. But of course nobody else cared and they would make fun of me. And I got jacked a couple of times. And I had no friends. And the awful poems I used to write. Well it's incredible how an album can just bring back memories like that. Either that or it's 3 AM and tired and half asleep. Wait, WHAT AM I DOING?

Reign in Blood is basically Slayer's Master of Puppets, except not nearly as overrated. I like the album, but I prefer South of Heaven.

As do I, though I think South of Heaven's a bit more toned down compared to their earlier stuff.

I really never understood Reign in Blood though. Can't explain why, just don't like it. I like Hell Awaits a more from that general timeframe, IMO.

I was also surprised when I gave Mercenary's "The Hours That Remain" another listen. It only has one vocalist, and he's a tenor, as opposed to the other solo-vocal-albums' baritones. This one in particular is nice. Henrik Kral Andersen's still the best though.

So I noticed that the parts in Between the Buried and Me's music with clean vocals are always absolutely mind-blowingly amazing. And it's just amazing how much variety is in their music. It's just...so good...

I can't believe I actually listened to the entire Parallax I and II all the way through. That's crazy.

So I'm listening to Prowler in the Yard, because it's a killer grindcore album.

Show No Mercy is in my opinion Slayer's best album.

Just wait until you get on a serious marathon binge and listen to their entire discography.  I spent a drunk night with a few buddies doing that.

I can also do that with Misery Signals, but their progression is more static and less all over the place.

Currently listening to Lionheart.

I was never too big on this band, but this song I like.

They're like a more technical, less djenty version of Periphery, another band I never fell head over heels for.

Oh, and Monuments.

Periphery or die.

That band's cool though, I'll have to check them out soon.

Monuments can go fuck themselves for stealing Barretto.

I would post, but I'm on my phone and it's a hassle. Last few days have been Misery Signals' new album which is sick.

I just went through some of Yakuza's stuff, which I have planned to do for quite the while. This band caught my attention after I found out that the band plays a mix of Metalcore, Jazz-Rock, Avant-Garde Metal, Djent, Progressive Metal and Sludge Metal. The first time I head that, my reaction was "What the serious hell?"

I listened to their album Samsara, and I have to say, they're kinda good. However, despite the fact that they incorporate so many different genres, they can get quite boring, as the saxophone really have no impact, nor does any of the Metalcore influences. It just feels like Post-Hardcore with Progressive Metal elements

I can see myself coming back to it again though

Amen, been quite busy with Misery Signals as well the past few days, mostly material from their debut album

Just found some sick new material for a Mini-Wheats commerical. They can call it wheatcore.

What the absolute flying fuck did I just watch right now?...

Anyway, I'm still waiting for this stupid CD to come in the mail...

I was listening to a little bit of each of the songs, and it sounds pretty damn good.

I dunno if I told you guys this, but I went to Warped Tour recently. MY BANDS THAT I SAW LIST:

Deafeter

Never listened to them before I saw them live. I was kind of far away, but they seemed pretty good. I don't know if they're metalcore or what, but I felt a lot of hardcore influence there.

Black Dhalia Murder

Again, a band that I wouldn't really go out of my way to listen to :V They had a great stage presence though, and they sure did command their crowd. Don't really like their sound though, so I'm probably not going to look into their studio shit.

The Early November / I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business

I know the lead singer from these bands, Ace Enders. He's a pretty cool guy, and it was cool to see him performing in front of a big crowd with a lot of dedicated fans, considering I usually see him at like Wawa and shit. His music itself is pretty good emo/pop-punk. I get a real wonder years vibe from it, even though they're years before them.

Volumes

Was super into these guys last year, and I'm sure you've guys have heard enough of it. I remembered them really incorrectly though, because these guys were really breakdown orientated djent that was just sort of boring to listen to unless you were in the pit.

The Wonder Years

The band I was most hyped about. Unfortunately, it rained like crazy in Jersey and I was wet, and they were playing in the biggest stage. I was probably one hundred feet away from them, and not near the pit section. Their set was great htough, and I really got into it despite how far away from the stage I was. Ignoring the way they acted off stage, The Wonder Years were probably the best band at warped tour, and they seriously knew how to put on a great show.

I'VE BEEN ACTING LIKE I'M STRONG BUT, THE TRUTH IS I'VE BEEN LOSING GROUNDDDDDDDDDDDD

I HAD TO FALL TO LOSE IT ALL BUT IN THE END IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER /WRISTS

So I discovered this song on Guitar Hero: Metallica the other day (and yes I love Guitar Hero, it's one of my favorite games).

The two songs I have heard from this band have been really really good. I just wouldn't know where to start if I wanted to listen to more of them.

That's pretty cool. I barely listen to pop-punk, and I don't really like it at all, but that second video you posted really got me. It's gotta be the vocals though, I put too much weight on them. In pretty much any case.

Well I didn't listen to much metal today. All I listened to was Exodus and Darkthrone.

Lately I've been listening to less metal and more stuff like Husker Du and Sonic Youth. I wouldn't go as far as saying that my interest in metal is dying but maybe I need a small break.
