Two simply possibilities:

1) issue with browser. (I personally stopped using Internet Explore for this site)

 -Try a different browse.

2) File type issue

-Edit the picture and try saving it in a different format

Without more info, it's hard to say

Just as a basic question to eliminate a possibility, but is the file/object you're attempting to upload over 50mb in size?

So no screenshot hmm?

It sounds like you're getting through the upload dialog but as the image tries to load, you end up with something like this:

post-28159-0-02760200-1405901774_thumb.png

But then it goes red and gives the fail message? (which i cannot seem to recreate now that I want a cap of it  >_> )

What browser and device are you using?

I am using Firefox, and by device I presume you mean PC?

Yup yup.

Are you all updated? That'd be the first step.

Let's walk through a screen cap upload. Even if nothing happens, maybe we can get a clue.

1) Get to the error

2) Press the print screen button

3) Right click on the desktop and select New > Bitmap Image

4) Right click the new image and click edit

5) The new image should open as an empty MS Paint (default)

6) Press ctrl+v ( paste )

7) File > Save As > PNG

8) Come back here

9) Click Upload Files

10) Click Choose Files

11) Select the new Image you made

12) Click Open

13) Click Add Reply (even if you get the error message)

I know it's a step-by and a bit excessive, but it might help pinpoint the issue.

I just attempted to up load a .png file through Firefox on Windows 8 with no trouble. This is a new comp so I don't have any other OS boxes to test it on.

You're using Firefox, right? I'd recommend testing this in Chrome to see if you experience the same issue when doing so.

Yeah, I'll try it in Chrome, if it opens for once.

Also, did you try clicking that "try our basic uploader" link? That might help as well.

I didn't try that, but It did work in Chrome :)

Thanks everyone.

Awesome. For future reference, you should try clearing your cache and temporarily disabling your extensions in Firefox to see if that fixes the issue at all. Otherwise, I recommend using Chrome when you need to upload attachments.

I'm glad you got this sorted out. I'll go ahead and lock your topic for now, but please send me a message if you ever experience this issue again.
