Is It Time For the Equestrian Revolution?

Fillies and gentlecolts, I have noticed a disturbing fact and that is Equestria seems to be ruled by the strong. Now this is all good and fine, as long as the strong are the best ponies to lead. Fillies and gentlecolts I am not convinced this is the case.

 

Princess Celestia...what exactly has she done? I mean in the last few years. She seems to be pretty poor at protecting Equestria, a fact made apparent by the numerous breaches in national security and inability to preform even the most basic tasks (like checking on your prisoners to make sure they haven't escaped). She also trusted Discord, even after they lost their only means of controlling him.

 

Princess Luna, who appears to be next in line for the throne, is sketchy as well. First, she appears to suffer from some sort of personality disorder, that transforms her into a power-hungry, sociopathic tyrant when she gets a little jealous. Later she decided to catch up on her sleep while her capital city was being attacked. Fillies and gentlecolts, do you really want Luna to be the autocratic ruler of Equestria?

 

So I think it's time for a political revolution in Equestria. The ponies must put their hooves down and say enough is enough! Democracy must be established in Equestria, so that incompetent leaders like Celestia and Luna cannot become absolute rulers, solely because they are the strongest.

 

What do you think? Does there need to be major political changes in Equestria? What do you want to see? A new autocratic ruler? A republic?

Not to mention that the breaches in security were performed by powerful, megalomaniac masterminds who's intentions were to take control of Equestria, whether do or die. Princess Celestia...what exactly has she done?

 

Besides not panic in a crisis like every single other pony does in the space of 1000 years? Quite alot.

 

Celestia is a good ruler, the fact she goes to so much effort so that her subjects don't see the horrors that lie in wait to devour her whole kingdom is proof alone of that.

 

True she might rely on Twilight and her friends alot but what ruler would not use every weapon that there disposal. People also forget that Celestia sending her precious student to her possible doom his her putting Equestria above her own feelings.

I doubt the worm Princess. She was useless in the Changeling invasion, made several enormous blunders re Discord and Tirek overall. 1000 years must be the limit for avoiding senility. Put the land under the rule of Granny Smith, she seems to be a shinier coin than Her Royal Buttness is these days.

 

Oh, and Discord spent his rule torturing ponies, so I don't support him either.

I agree, it seems Twilight would be a much better ruler than Celestia. She certainly has better organization skills

I'm in favour of a Celestia-led monarchy, not an Alicorn-Tetrarchy: if Princess Celestia is the absolute ruler, then the other three Alicorns may be akin to Prime Ministers (if the Crystal Empire and Ponyville are akin to vassals, then the respective Cadence and Twily will be like viceroys).
