How does one change their background?

Some profiles have different backgrounds so how do I accomplish that?

Go to your profile, click Edit My Profile (black button on top right), on the left click Profile Customization (second one down), then click the button next to Choose Background. (Third option)

 

Or click your User Name, then choose My Settings for the first part, and carry on from step 2.

STEP 1: Go to your profile settings...

 

 

STEP 2: Go to 'Profile Customization'

 

 

STEP 3: Upload the photo you want for your background...

 

STEP 4: Click save then you're done!

@Elegance nailed the steps to apply a background image, @Nuclear Luna. One additional item would be to consider the image file size requirement which cannot exceed 500kb.
