Your Favourite Moment in a Video Game

Once upon a time in Skyrim (the most overrated sandbox game ever made, but still an incredibly pretty game), I was strolling on the mountains near Riverwood at night; having just left the ruins of the Imperial village where I once was about to be executed. I was with my companion Lydia, and we were heading back to Whiterun to purchase armor with our newly collected loot, when I spot a stray dog wandering on the hills.

I knelt right up to it and pretended to pet it. I wanted to keep it as a pet or a follower, but unfortunately I thought that I could only keep dogs as pets if I had a house, and at the time of playing the game I'd no idea how to recruit animals as followers. Pretty sad, because I had fond memories of Dogmeat from Bethesda's Fallout 3 and the Cyborg dog from Fallout New Vegas.

So I went on my way, turning my head around to give a quiet farewell to the dog when a dragon lands directly to its right, in a way that I could only see the side of its head like a twisted size-comparison with the dog, and the dog actually gives this one last look of utter fatality towards the dragon before the thing opens its mouth and turns it to crisps.

I swore I took a screencap of the two right before the dog died, but it's not on my laptop. I almost thought the whole death was a scripted event; it looked so cinematic. Regardless, it was by far my favorite moment of the entire game.

Anyways, post your favorite moments, levels, lines of dialogue or scenes from any video game you've played.

For me, it's usually either two things:

1. When I beat the main baddie of a game; expecially it's challenging & fair. A great example would be the dragon Grigori from Dragon's Dogma. I mean, boss battles in this game are already a blast, and Grigori only made it MORE fun! Really, after beating him, I really felt accomplished and satisfied.

2. When I see a scenic view that just takes my breath away. Skyrim is a GREAT example of this, but I'd also bring up the likes of Uncharted, Tomb Raider (reboot), and Prince of Persia '08. Each of these, and other, offered great views that never failed to impress me.

Playing through a game for the first time, Without knowing about anything that'll happen. ( of course that can be ruined by watching walkthroughs or your friend telling you every little detail about it before you even even knew the game existed)

Let your imagination run wild!

For me? I put the same answer in these threads, but it'll always be the end of the game Journey for the PS3 (coming soon the the PS4). That plus all of the little moments of interaction with other players has sit untouched as my most favorite moment(s) from a game.

That being said, beating the first Kingdom Hearts all those years ago is definitely up there.

The first time I killed a major target in Assassin's Creed was a powerful moment. So much hate and agony, pushed aside to give a dying man a chance to confess, and to give him his last rights.

Although, I'd say the Bioshock "A man chooses" was even more powerful (buhdumtsh?), due to my personality and my views regarding true strength and true weakness.

Ah! I forgot about Journey! Honestly, the overall game counts as a great moment, but yeah...that ending...man that wonderful ending!

When you pin down Raul Menendez in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and either excute him or let him go. That is just awesome for me. Another is the death of Dimirti Petrenko in Call of Duty Black Ops. A hero, having fought in World War 2, being locked in a room with Nova 6 chemicals? Too tragic.

Yep, it's awesome! Can't wait for the PS4 release, personally; it's going to be awesome playing with an influx of new players to show around the world.

On Fallout New Vegas, the Gun Runners DLC challenges where really hard and funny to try,

I remember one where you had to kill a Deathclaw with either Boxing Tape, 9mm Pistol, Dynamite, Straight Razor. I had a blast (literally)

blowing up a Deathclaw with Dynamite and then beating it to death with Boxing Tape (I used like 20 Stimpacks though)

Also when you get to be a Pyromaniac in a game, TF2, Fallout, Timesplitters, Black Ops 1. Who doesn't love burning your opponents to death after they tried to murder you. It is always satisfying.

A PS4 release!? Journey on the PS4? I somehow missed that announcement. That is going to be an automatic buy; period.
