I'm creating a new character, one of the tree spirits. He will be able to travel through dreams much like Luna does, but doesn't have a physical form in the real world. He will be able to visit the other characters in their dreams and even let them meet with each other in their dreams. He won't have as much control over the dreams as Luna though. He will eventually get a physical form to use in the real world though, but I hope to have that story play out here if you don't mind.

 

What a unique idea for roleplaying. It would be kinda interesting, having people's dreams haunted by a spirit. If I may ask, is this dream spirit the result of your elimination of this particular special tree?

 

Also, do these 'spirit trees' have a unique feel or appearance? I feel like, if they were to have a dryad inside of them, they might look, feel or taste a bit different.

The trees in question are the Everwood trees Seamore and Syo are cutting down. They are highly valued for their magical properties and a special permit is required to buy sell or harvest them. As for the tree spirit character, he will not be haunting anyone, he just lives in the realm of dreams as all Everwood spirits do after the tree has been cut down. Basically, the dream world is their afterlife. They are generally greatful for being released from the tree. The trees have a bark that can vary between different shades of blue and green and colors in between and have leaves that are a rainbow of pastel colors. The trunks of the trees usually have a slight glow due to the magic in them.

I would appreciate it if you would have Syo sing/hum/whistle a happy song while cutting the tree by mistake, it would help with the creation of my character. You can explain it how you like, wether she wasn't paying enough attention, or didn't take him seriously, or genuinely thinks the song she is singing/humming/whistling is a sad one but to others it sounds happy.

Would it be alright if the tree spirit possessed Briar for a short time? It would be mostly to thank the others for allowing him to pass on, the experience being one that causes him to want a body for himself.

Another thing, I think that Briar and the tree spirit's goals kind of line up in a way, being that both need new functioning body parts created for them, so do you think they could travel together? The Diamond Spider's webs might help them in this endeavor.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the net Priestess used was made of spider silk, natural silk of course. But what made it special was that it had powdered black crystal mixed in, a magic nullifier if the show is anything to go by. 

 

But, we can still have it escape the net. If you want.

If I knew that I wouldn't have made it escape, I almost didn't but I thought logically it would just rip through most types of netting because diamonds are the one thing most likely to cut through anything. What's done is done, I don't like to take things back unless absolutely necessary, it could confuse someone if they read the post before it gets edited. Now if you wanted to say the spider was there to protect something for the Anansi you mentioned earlier, I don't actually have an origin for the spider, so you can go with that story, maybe finding something in the area worth protecting.

Actually at this point. I'll just have an irate Priestess go in for the kill. Take the rope from her net, tackle the spider at high speeds, jump on it's back and choke the thing out, while she hog ties it.

Has he ever tried carving diamond? The giant spider our group is about to kill has a giant diamond growing out of its back, we could have someone, either someone from the group or a buyer, approach him with it to have him carve something out of it, eventually.

I'll have a look at the bios soonish, but just on the way to work now, so it'll likely be a handful of hours before I'm caught up to everything here. I'll see if I can make a post before though, bu no guarantees.

 

About the soul detection, I can have it be harder for her to see the exact form because of her exhaustion catching up and the caried magic blurring things. She'll know there is one, but not where, nor the shape.

 

As for Briar, I will allow his usage. The way I have him written out so far makes me think that it ain't against his character to allow a spirit to share the space with him, especially when the soul seems natural in origin and not appeoaching in a hostile manner.

 

I'll allow the travelling together for a while as well, and since I assume you refer to his want for eyes, he will welcome any chance there is for getting that, including letting a spirit linger for a while.

At this point I'm going to have Syo explain the rules with the trees to someone else. Whoever that is can make the mistake of singing/humming/whistling a happy song, especially if Syo left out some of the details.

Better if I try to get this ironed out here in the OOC before it creates issues further down the road.

 

Denim, as Magos wrote in the post there is a degree of godmodding that is generally frowned upon unless you ask permission from the other person in question to allow you to do such a thing to their character. It is on a small scale here, but as it seems to not have pleased the one it was done towards, I would ask that for future reference, please ask the other person in advance with something like this.

 

If anything needs to be changed I will let it be between the two of you. Also, please don't think of this as calling you out on things like this in front of everypony like I'm trying to shame or anything like that, cause it isn't meant like that. It is simply that I ain't entirely sure how to make a PM with more than 1 other person and I need to have both parties involved seeing that things are beings handled so bad blood doesn't spread.

That could come a bit later, somepony can approach him while he's out and about. Just figure out what you want him to be doing in the meantime, it will be a while before the others leave the forest. There are currently three timelines, the fight in the forest, Dax and Angel walking home from the forest, and a conversation at a Canterlot Library.

Mostly Ponyville, and the Everfree forest, but a new group has started in Canterlot.

So this rp in what town, canterlot, ponyville uh i'm confused.

If you want, you can have him start in Canterlot, then maybe take the trip to Ponyville. Maybe he can stop at the library before he goes. You can basically start anywhere you want, I don't want to overstep my bounds but I think Blitz Boom would just say to go ahead and post if you wanted to.
