movies/tv How much gore can you handle on TV, Movies, and Shows?

Some of us can handle the highest form of gory content in movies and shows.

Some of us though can't stand even the sight of blood.

Me?

I can stand cartoon gore.

Like Happy Tree Friends and Cupcakes HD.

I do draw the line when it comes to realistic gore in movies and shows.

One movie series I HATE and ABSOLUTELY despise is the Final Destination series.

It's depressing and makes me sick to my stomach.

Also there was another show I really hated called "1000 ways to die".

*shivers*

Brings back nightmares.

So how much gore can you handle?

I see no reason to ever draw a line. Let people enjoy what they will.I liked 1000 Ways To Die but I wouldn't exactly call it super gory either. They censored or hid most of the gore.

I'm not saying I'm forcing people not to like this sort of stuff.

I'm saying the content would be too gory for me to watch.

I just wouldn't be able to handle it.

I don't mind Gore or blood in cartoons.

HECK, I LOVE bloody cartoons. That's why DBZ is my all-time favourite anime. Because the others are pansies.

But when a cartoon is not based on being bloody and suddenly appears something bloody appears,(in Spongebob it happened a lot) it just feels out of place, and very wrong.

I've watched nearly all the horror cult classics that exist, and some of the goriest, most disturbing and scariest movies without flinching since I was a kid. My mother got me into that, and BOY did I love it.

I don't really mind gore all that much when used appropriately, but when it's used in erotica, then I'm disgusted.   Ero-guro stuff is beyond disturbing to me.  I'll never, ever watch a film where the gore isn't simulated, either.  But then again, who would?

If it fits the atmosphere then fine. I had no issue watching Attack on Titan or Hellsing or other violent anime/media/games as long as it fits the atmosphere.  :maud:

However, something like Smile/Cupcakes HD disturbs me greatly, also vore is certainly something i do my best to steer clear of.  :maud:

Honestly i don't care to see hyper violent shit anymore..i get enough of that when looking up Pinkamena photos by default much to my displeasure.  :maud:

I don't think we should draw the line at all, as long as its appropriate to the story and setting. I also hate the final destination series, but they make it pretty clear in their advertising that it boils down to murder porn. As long as its easy for people who don't want to see gore to avoid it, I don't have a big problem with it existing.

Sidebar: I've seen 1000 ways to die before and I hate it so much, but for a different reason. It kind of bothers me that the only point of the show is to be entertained by watching people die. I think the reason it bothers me is that they recreate actual deaths and I just feel weird watching it.

Alright Alright Alright!

I'm going to have to word this post differently.

People are getting the wrong perception on what meant to say.

To answer the new question:

. "Action movie" violence is fine, I can watch that no problem. I can't deal with body horror at all. It makes me sick. Not in the moral outrage kind of way, I mean that it makes me physically ill to watch things like that.

I don't draw the line anywhere because I can handle any amount of blood and gore.  I also enjoyed the 1000 Ways to Die series, I hate that it was cancelled.
Hellsing and Metalocalypse are some of my favourite gory TV shows.

I've seen plenty of horror movies so I'm pretty used to seeing gore by now ^_^ Now as for cartoon gore...I don't really watch anime or any violent cartoons, and something like Cupcakes or Smile HD does disturb me, not for the gore, but who's causing the massacre  Plus since those videos are based off something like MLP it's super uncalled for :eww:

I can't stand any kind of gore. I just... it's so hard for me. I get so scared and sickened by it that I often get severe nightmares because of it. It's something I've never been able to handle. I just don't like it at all.

Ok I hate gore when It only use as a shocker and when the movie is trying to make itself seem real then break it when a guy bleeds a whales amount of blood.

I love gore when it is stylized like in the WII game MADWORLD which was only black and white except for the blood.

I'm a lot better at handling blood in cartoon/anime form than I am in more realistic shows and real life. In a real scenario, someone with a nosebleed is enough to give me chills; I hate blood... In television, it sort of depends. Something like Dragon Ball Z is alright because the blood is mostly just red lines and it stays on the characters' bodies. Something like Corpse Party though... let's just say it was very hard to watch through.

I can watch some of the goriest stuff you can possibly imagine and so long as it is fiction even if the violence is realistic I will not only not even flinch but given the right circumstances might even find it funny. Cupcakes was one of the most hilarious things I have ever read and one of my favorite comic book series is Lobo which is so over the top that it makes even things like Cupcakes look like a tea party. Lobo is like an artist when it comes to killing or "fraggin'" as he often calls it. He is so obsessed with violence that in one issue he gave up this lucrative scam he concocted involving a phony religion because he couldn't help himself. With that said though I can get bored in a lot of cases of gore for the sake of gore but in certain situations I can find that entertaining.

Gore in cartoons is fine with me, and I watch a lot of live action shows with gore... either way in the end, it's not real after all. ;)

Body disfigurements/missing limbs on the other hand can be hard to take for me... that stuff always ends up being more realistic than simple blood spatters, eesh.

I can stand quite a bid of gore myself, even the live-action one, as long as it's not inflicted on a character I particularly like or done in a silly over-the-top manner

It somewhat surprised me this kind of thread appeared here :P

I actually have a high tolerance level in how much I can handle, from my experience. This is shocking to me because just the very action of being in a hospital makes me super queasy. Seeing blood pumped out or in makes me really queasy. Being in the mere presence of such an action is enough to make me sick.

Now seeing video of the inside of a body will also make me very queasy. But general violence in media doesn't do that. However, I must emphasize that I do not like much violence in my media. I may be able to tolerate it, but I don't like it. One Piece/Dragon Ball Z level violence is fine by me... But go any further than that, and I will feel disturbed by it (not in the queasy sense, though.).

I don't mind cartoons with gore or live action shows with gore, as long as it's in place. For example, my favorite TV show is Supernatural, and there is a shit ton of gore there, but it never feels out of place because everyone dies.

I actually didn't mind Cupcakes HD. I didn't cringe or anything either while reading Cupcakes or Rainbow Factory. I don't like pointless gore for the sake of gore, but I don't mind gore if it in necessary or adds to the experience.

I hate gore/horror movies & books ... Period. Will not watch it or look at it unless I happen to stumble on it. Now on this note, I don't think it is right to control what you see or don't see. I choose to vote my distaste with my pocket book. I will not pay for any movie with over the top violence.

But if you want to see blood flying all over the place that's your choice.
