Stoneheart looked out the window and sure enough, the sun was setting. She nodded to Storm, "Alright. And noon is fine for me."

 

She walked to the door and opened it, "I'll see you tomorrow then. Thank you so much for repainting my house, it looks beautiful," she said gratefully.

Storm smiled as he walked out the door. "No problem Stoneheart, I'll see you tomorrow!" He said, waving as he flew off. Arriving at his house, he wrote down a note for himself, and put it on his bedside table. "Don't want to forget.." He told himself, before getting in bed and falling asleep, looking forward to good dreams.

Blitz looked at the two of them having a look around her workshop, then, when they greeted her she gave her biggest smile she had the energy to right now and started to answer back.

 

"My name's Blitz Boom. You like my workshop? I make a load of things. Spindlehoppers, carpetcrackers, rockets, Bombs!"

 

She raised herself on her hind legs and made a motion with her front hooves starting from the centre and going outwards, like an exploding bomb, before quickly getting back down before she lost balance and giggled.

 

"Paint, weird stuff, confetti bombs, and more. There's sooo many things to work with in the forest that there's no stop to what can be made. Ooh, but you looked for something right? Right? What does it look like? What does it do?"

 

Blitz were starting to get excited, and a tiny bit hyper, but she still hadn't had time to replenish her adrenaline so it stayed at this. It was highly likely that when this was all over she would crash and be unconscious for a while, regardless of how lightly she normally slept. Was the price of messing with your schedule like this too much.

 

Not having forgotten about Book, Blitz walked over and nuzzled to larger pegasus' front leg.

 

"Hehe, you're soft."

A large, downwards crate moved not far from the pony wandering inside the town, currently placed behind some trash cans. Slowly, the crate went up and a pair of big, mostly very light-green eyes looked over towards the new hooves she had heard move nearby before quickly going back under.

 

"W-why am I doing this? I shouldn't, they could h-hurt me..."

 

Brittle spoke with a lot of fear in her voice in a whisper so quiet that she almost couldn't hear it herself, ending it in a low whimper. She didn't want to be in town now, not with all those ponies wandering around. Watching. Judging...

 

She shivered a bit under her makeshift hideout.

 

The night was better, there were hardly anypony out there, and she could eat without being seen. But it had been so long since she was near a city, and she had been so hungry... She couldn't help herself.

 

At least nopony could see her under the crate, and the one who just went by didn't look like he had been looking this way.

Void looked at the fish bone and back at Briar with a chuckle as he went closer to him and looked at the water.

"Fish? Changeling's may look like carnivores but I assure you, we are not" He was laughing a little as he realized he needed to feed again soon"

"Hmmm, you eating fish has made me realize I have not fed for awhile... I need to feed soon" Void was chewing on his shelled hoof as he said this and his fangs were slotted through the holes to not hurt him.

"sophrry, Dipht mepfft to" Void noticed he was still chewing on his hoof.

"Ooops, sorry, chewing on my hoof" Void kicked a little water with his hoof and wondered how Briar eats the bones. In fact the whole thing, ugghh the eyes. Void shivered a little before smiling again.

Storm yawned as he got out of bed, going through his morning rituals. "Hmm?" He questioned, seeing the note on his table. "Oh, right the meal..." Storm realized. "Well... It looks to be about ten or so... I guess I'd better get started." He said to himself, going through the kitchen and grabbing the ingredients he needed. "Let's see here..." Storm mused. "So some cream of mushroom soup over mashed potatoes.. A side of peas and carrots... And for some desserty type stuff a slice of Chocolate Zucchini Cake, and a few oats of honey cookies." He said, nodding his head resolutely before getting to work on the meal.

 

~A bit later~

 

"All right, that's everything!" Storm exclaimed, loading his freshly cooked meals into a basket. "And it's..." He said, looking at the clock. "Woah, Just in time.. It's almost twelve!" Storm exclaimed. "Well, better start on my way." He said, grabbing the basket and flying out the door towards Stoneheart's house once more.

 

 

(OOC: I figured I'd include a breakfast muffin, as part of his morning rituals AKA Brushing teeth.. etc..)

Book smiled a bit at her being on his leg. "Thanks? You seem like a smart and cool kid. How'd you get the wings?" He asked, smiling still. He looked around, amazed at how young she looked and how she had so many gizmos and gadgets. He looked at her and how she looked energetic.

"Hmm?" Storm hummed to himself, seeing a crate moving around down below, as he was on his way to Stoneheart's house. "What's that? Somepony lose an animal or something?" He asked himself, attempting to find a logical conclusion to a moving crate. "Maybe it's some foals in a game of hide-and-seek? I should probably check it out... I hope it's not Opal, I swear that cat has some kind of homing claws..." Storm muttered, flying down towards the crate. Landing next to it, he tapped it twice. "Er.. Hello?" Storm questioned."It's certainly an interesting occurrence...I don't think I've seen anypony or anything running around Ponyville under a box before..." He thought. "First time for everything I guess..."

Blitz looked proud at the mention of her wing.

 

"I made them. They don't work yet, but one day... oooh yes, one day, I shall fly."

 

She giggled at the thought and tried to use her magic to move the wings, which didn't work. It took her a few seconds to get her mind around to why that was, to which she brought her left front leg to her mouth and giggled a little louder behind it.

 

"Right, broken horn, cant use magic then. Hehe."

When the hat pony talked to her she turned around, looking at the thing he had found with big eyes.

 

"That is your thing? Ooooh, I never could figure out what that was, and it's too pretty to take apart and find out."

 

She hadn't noticed the crack in the side of it before though. Perhaps it'd fallen of the small table? But wait... the table were pretty small, if that tiny fall gave it a crack what would happen if it was dropped from like, the roof? Well, guess she'd never find out, whatever then, lot's of other things to play with.

 

"I rummage through the trash in Ponyville at night sometimes. You wouldn't believe all the useful goodies they throw out there. Anyway, looked at some crates, found a few screws that'd be useful, and them Bam! Suddenly I find this pretty little thing next to the box. Looked like it had rolled in under there.

 

No idea what it's for... Is it a magic thing?"

 

Blitz hoped he'd say yes, cause really, when you had a giant wizard hat like that you had to be a magician type of some sort, and while she'd never seen Unicorns with things like the thing she found, it didn't mean some didn't use it. Could be it was full of magic! Or fire! Wait... No, fire bad in here, very bad.

Brittle had been eating a little passing love when somepony landed next to her and she stopped, heart racing as she walked slowly back from the tapping pony, shaking like she were cold.

 

It might have worked to get her away a little by little in the small, closed off section at the trash... If it wasn't because her route were bringing her right back towards the wall. The fact she couldn't see who were tapping and that she had a vague hope that the crate would mean she couldn't be seen either were the only reasons she hadn't spontaneously changed yet, but only barely.

 

While walking backwards, Storm Shine might be able to hear the whimper coming from inside the crate, as if a wounded animal were the occupant.

"Cool."

 

Blitz looked up with big eyes and an even bigger smile when Disruptis told what the thing were, what it did, and disturbingly, when he told about radiation.

 

She did turn her head a little when he mentioned lead though. What lead was she had no idea about, but he said he needed to seal it up. Perhaps she had something he could use? But what to use... Bark were brittle, stones kinda hard to really form... Metal?

 

"Can it be sealed with metal? I got metal, riiiiiight... Here!"

 

She had moved past and dragged out the *right* as she rummaged over in a corner, and had ended the sentence just as she pushed up against a crate that were once for apples but now contained some trio-coloured flowers so that the barrel behind it could get more into sight.

 

It was filled with scrap metal she had found in town. Everything from bolts, to tossed out hinges, strips for barrels, a few chains, halfway formed metal from the blacksmiths trash and more. The metal varied, and Blitz really had no idea what the difference in them were as she hadn't really used much of it yet. She only knew that the bolts, usually ones that were replaced in barns and carts, tended to work well as containers for some of the high explosives. The rest she hadn't had a chance to work with before her horn broke, and she wasn't stupid enough to go near a blazing forge without magic, so she had just collected for later use.

 

This might also explain the fact that, quite disturbingly, the label on the barrel said *Dynamite Frames*.

"My apologies, I simply assumed Changelings would need more substance and minerals in their diet. Regardless, if you need to feed are you not in need of being near love then? If so, we should perhaps set a course for you for Ponyville?"

 

Briar decided to pass up on commenting the part where Void had gnawed on his hoof, sure that the Changeling had his reasons for doing so. Or a bad habit for that matter, but who were he to judge? He had several as well, such as gnawing on trees or talk to his food, so what moral high ground did he really have here?

 

The mention of Void needing a meal made him somewhat curious though... How much love did he need to sustain himself? And how close did he have to be to siphon it from his victim?

Stoneheart got up late, as usual. She looked at the alarm clock across the room, dinged up from the countless times she threw it against the wall. "Oh, I slept late!" she shouted as she read 12:00 on the clock.

 

She got out of bed and stretched, walking into the living room. She hoped he didn't come and leave.

Storm gasped as he heard what sounded like a pained whimper. "Um... Are... Are you okay?" He questioned to the creature under the box. "Do you need help?" Storm asked softly, feeling worried that there might be something, or somepony injured under there. "I hope Stoneheart understands why I'm late with the meal..." He thought to himself. "But if there's a hurt creature under here then that's much more important than getting my food there warm!"

"N-no. Can't... Have to g-get away..."

 

The low voice was mixed with the whimpers as Brittle continued her shaky walk backwards, no longer capable of pretending like the pony in front of her hadn't seen her. She couldn't feel any bad emotions from him, but that meant nothing. He hadn't seen her. And he would hurt her if he did. She couldn't let that happen, not-

 

The line of thoughts in her head was cut short as the first effect in a chain reaction took place when the crate hit the wall and the panic took her mind away.

 

When the crate hit, Brittle got a surge of panic as she thought it was another pony, standing behind her and making sure she couldn't get away, resulting in her standing straight up and knocking the crate over in the process, making her now stand with no way away and face to face with the pony who had just spoken to her.

 

Storm Shine would be able to see the big, mostly light-green eyes, multicoloured mane, tail and exoskeleton as well as the fluttery insectoid wings for a moment before the panic rose and Brittle, with fear plastered over her eyes, got the Changeling mark of transformation over her in the form of a quick, green fire that engulfed her.

 

When the flame was gone, Brittle were still in her exoskeleton, holes and all, but her colours had gone into a striped, Yellow/Orange pattern, her mane clear pink and the tail a plain black with a pattern looking like somepony had dropped several different paint buckets on top of it. Her fangs, which were small for a Changeling, had shrunk to the size of her other teeth, though still sharp, and the insectoid wings had been replaced with a dragon wing on the left, and a green Pegasus wing on the right.

 

Her head were down near the ground as she walked backwards, feeling the cold wall against her flank while looking at the Pegasus stallion in front of her with fear plastered over the unchanged eyes.

 

To Brittle, Storm Shine looked as imposing as a City Guard with rabies, but she couldn't just run off right now. Her knees felt like they would give way under her if she even tried.

 

"P-Please, don't..."

 

Her voice died out before the sentence finished and just ended in another whimper.

Storm stared wide-eyed at the, admittedly odd, pony-figure in shock. "Um, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to scare you.." He said softly, so as to keep from frightening the poor creature further. "I'm Storm Shine.. May I ask your name?" Storm said, continuing to speak in a soft tone, not all that dissimilar to the one often used by Fluttershy.

Brittle felt the shock from the pony. She was scared of her too, just like the ones at the circus...

 

Her eyes closed and the dragon wing lit up with the green fire, this time leaving just a blank spot where it had been before.

 

"B-Brittle Buzz... P-please, don't hurt me."

 

Storm Shine didn't look like he was going to attack her, but... H-he was bigger than her, and she only had one wing now. She couldn't get away, and what if h-he... Dragged, her out into the street?

 

A small meep was heard from her as her left front leg was engulfed, and when the fire stopped, it had taken a coal-grey hue with no stripes in sharp context to the rest of her.

 

She slowly opened her eyes, looking at the stallion again. Why didn't he laugh? Point? Feel disgust? Why... Did he act nice?

Storm looked at the now named Brittle Buzz with a bit of sadness. Seeing how scared she was of him, reasoning he was probably a bit large and intimidating, Storm laid down onto his stomach. Setting his picnic basket next to him, he looked at the young changeling sadly. "There's no need to be afraid, little Brittle. I don't plan to hurt you..." Storm said softly, looking at her from a more eye-level point-of-view.

 

Getting an idea to perhaps make the young filly a little more relaxed, and hopefully give her some happiness, Storm opened his picnic basket and nosed around a bit. Finding what he was looking for, he pulled some out and set them on a plate in front of himself before pushing them closer to the scared looking Brittle. "Here... If you want, I have some cookies here. I made them for me and  friend, but I'm sure she'll be fine if a few are missing... It's oats and honey..." Storm told Brittle, still speaking in that same soft tone. "I still have the Chocolate Zucchini Cake for Stoneheart to try anyways... And I'm sure she'll understand that I gave the cookies to someone who needed them..." He thought.

"Silly pony, I just found it."

 

Blitz giggled as she batted a hoof on the barrels she just cleared the view to. Perhaps it was too dark for him to see it? She really had to look on some sort of light one of these days... Perhaps some sort of long burning powder?

Blitz pushed the thought aside and looked at Book instead, focusing her attention on her instead of the inevitable experiments of tomorrow.

 

"Yes, light wings, but need something light first. The metal keeps shape for now, but one day I will find something better an- Oh my horn? Stood too close to a new firework, Way too much power, way to long fuse. It's okay, it comes back in time, and I fixed the bomb, so it's all good."

The shaking lost a little power and she didn't attempt backing up any more when Storm lied down in front of her and took out the things from the basket. It didn't mean Brittle stopped looking fearfully at the stallion, but the fear began to share it's place with another emotion. Confusion.

 

She wasn't used to ponies, or any other race for that matter, to be kind to her. And especially not react the way that this one did. Not since... Not since the sharp toothed pony had gotten her out of her cage, and that was a long time ago now.

 

Her eyes darted between the offered cookie and the face of this new pony as tears made their way into her eyes.

 

"W-why are you... N-nice to me?"

 

In the circus, the only thing Blitz had been allowed to feed on were the love she ate a little off from the audience, and after she had gotten away, it was mostly still the same. Half of the stuff she tried to eat in the forest or that she found in towns at night made her stomach hurt, and while she knew what oats were  she had no idea what this *Ho-ney* were and if it made her hurt too.

 

All she knew was that it was in a cookie, so it was meant to be eaten, but... Why?

Storm looked at Brittle with a small smile. "Like my friend Fluttershy would say, everypony deserves to be shown kindness.. I wouldn't want to be mean to anypony... In fact you could say it's my life's goal to spread as much happiness as I possibly can." He told her softly. "Besides... You looked hungry, and if you're as hungry as I think... You need this food more than I do..."

Brittle listened to Storm Shine, still darting her misty eyes between him and the offered cookie, slowly taking a shaky step forward towards the offered goods. She was hungry, mostly for love, but perhaps this could take the worst of it for now. It didn't Look dangerous and... And this stallion was nice to her. P-Perhaps it wouldn't hurt with just a little, tiny, bite.

 

"T-thank y-"

 

"What the hay is That supposed to be?"

 

The words were said by a golden-coated earth mare behind Storm Shine that had gone over to toss out the remnants of an apple, but instead had looked at a Pegasus and some sort of freak accident covering at the wall.

 

This time, Brittle could feel it. The judging eyes, the disgust, the way she moved away from her... Nonononono.

 

She let out a small meep and turned on the spot, finally going for another angle than the wall just behind her and galloped off from her former position here at one of the first houses and directly into the woods, every step resulting in a new, rapid transformation of one or more parts of her before she was out of sight, the last seen being the tail that turned into a bunny fluff tail.and white fur spreading over the parts still visible.

 

The mare were unfazed by this and ignored Storm Shine, just letting out a snort.

 

"Urgh, a Changeling. Good riddance."

 

With that she tossed the apple carcass into the open trash can and turned around to leave. She didn't want to stick around here in case the thing came back.

 

((I really do feel bad for doing this, but Stoneheart is waiting for you Storm, and I have another plan with Brittle for now. Good lil' interaction going though. And feel free to do something to the NPC, she won't last anyway so no chance of retaliation or police. ))

Seeing poor Brittle run away.. It made him sad.... Turning towards the mare that caused her to run away, Storm glared at her. Feeling angry for what might've been the first time in his life, Storm glared as he said harshly. "You prejudiced, mean, ARRRGHH!" He yelled his frustration, stamping a hoof on the ground before sighing. Getting angry at the mare wouldn't help anything, and Brittle had already run off... "I hope she stays safe..." Storm mumbled to himself, still a bit frustrated at the rather rude mare, before flying off towards Stoneheart's house..

Landing in front of her house, Storm walked up  and knocked on the door. "I hope Stoneheart isn't upset that I'm late..." He thought, waiting on the porch.
