I agree with you but, I also feel like what @@ChB, said could also be something they could do.

 

However, we're still not sure how long either series will last so, Sunset Shimmer's arc may not end at all.

Having Sunset be in the show would bring both together which is how it should be. I feel that MLP FiM and EQG are canon with each other with Sunset being the bridge that connects them.

That's something the fandom has been insisting on there being a human version of Sunset. The option is there to include her and possibly change things up, but it would need to be done incredibly well. Anything less than that would be unacceptable.

Sunset herself has a family although she herself said that she isn't really close to them. I doubt they even know that she now lives in an alternate world. Human Sunset? That is very open-ended.

She mentioned it at the beginning of the Holiday 2014 special comic. Sunset said to Applejack that she had never been close to her family nor did she spend the holidays with anyone since first coming to the human world.

That's the comic with its standard cover. The alternate one is actually the same as that for the Equestria Girls annual except Sunset replaces Twilight in the middle.

 

I watched those bloopers as well, and they were even better than Friendship Games.
