What do you think of Double Rainboom?

I just found it pretty "Meh." I wasn't angry with the crossover, as the Powerpuff Girls is a good show and it was a nice surprise, but there was little to it. t doesn't really have thay much going on. Rainbow Dash wass somewhat OOC. There was little to build up on. It's just bland and forgettable. Thugh I do admit the animation is pretty good.

A bad fan animation. Quite a bad one, indeed. It's a shame, too, because for fan standards, I think the animation was quite impressive (It's better than Dusk's Dawn.) It seems to think that having two cartoons randomly collide and having fan service up the ass will classify as a good piece of work in the eyes of it's viewing audience.

Well, I find that very cynical, and I like to think that the brony fandom isn't stupid enough to have that way of thinking.

It wouldn't be so terrible if the characters weren't flanderized (or in the case of the PPG, completely perverted in their character). The animation looks a little stilted, but it's actually not that bad, and while the multiple meme references could get annoying, I'd be willing to forgive it if the characters were written well. Alas, Twilight is just "blah blah blah science", and Rainbow seems to have completely lost her common sense (because people believe her "Leeroy Jenkins" attitude = a lack of that and that's not true - having a thirst for danger and being somewhat reckless is not the same as doing something that you know is not conceivably a good idea just for the sake of it). I could forgive even that if it weren't for the PPG being portrayed as violent and callous, not to mention stupid.

 

It's not the fact it's a crossover that's the problem, it's the fact that the script is lazy at best and offensive at worst.

tl;dr - it had a few redeeming qualities, but not enough to overcome the terrible story and bad implementation of a few things.

When I was just becoming a Brony, I liked Double Rainboom but, since then, I started to lose interest in it mainly because of it being no more than reference hell for 30 minutes. (Heck I keep thinking the actual Double Rainboom must be a reference to this meme here)
