Glad I could make it in an acceptable way, he certainly won't be wanting to use it or even learning it unless someone is willing to experience it and pushing him to learn it or if he gets pushed to far/saving someone/last resort self defense type thing.

Name: Professor/Mistress Kitska, nicknamed (not recommend calling her any of this) Ice Queen, Ice Scream, Frost, Permafrost, Diemond

Gender: female

Age + Subject: 39 + Defensive Bending and History

Bending Ability (limited to two abilities): Water/Earth (Crystal Bending)

Appearance: Dark skin, black hair worn mostly in traditional Northern water tribe stylings, average height athletic tone on an elegant figure. Piercing ice blue eyes that contrast her skin to almost shine from her always stern and serious face. Wears light blues, whites and blacks.

Personality: Strict and harsh, Kitska is a no nonsense teacher and bending master that represents her elements in her nature. She is cold in her mannerisms and actions, the students often view her as heartless, even cruel. But she gets results and often pushes students farther than they could have imagined.

Backstory: Kitska spent most of her early life at the North Pole training to become a master water bender, at age 22 she finally discovered her ability to earthbend.

She instantly took to it, changing gears completely and traveling to Ba Sing Se to learn earthbending. She spent the next 10 years mastering earth before moving to Republic/Capital city where she began her own work mixing and combining the forms and bending. The result of her tireless work is known as Crystal bending, in which the principles of turning water to ice is shifted on to earth creating more solid crystal forms such as glass and even diamond.

Degree of Control over Elements: Water - Master, Earth - Master, Crystal - Master/Creator, Healing - Nonexistent

And the teacher is accepted too. You know what I find funny about her crystal bending? My sister, since she watches the show as well, asked me about the different forms of bending. She asked if crystal ending was possible. I said no. But it apparently is possible in this RP thanks to your character.

I always took that as him just moving around the the crystals that were already formed and there in the cave, which makes sense for earth benders. For the crystal bending I was thinking more like a literal ability to move the minerals around and effect them to create crystals from plain stone/earth and the ability to fluidly change the crystals shape without making them shatter like they were constantly doing in that battle.

Oh I see that's makes more sense. Man, now that I think about it, sandbending, metalbdending and "crystal bending" Earthbending has tons of potential (even if Crystal bending is nothing special, I'm thinking it's a little different than normal earthbending) I'm so happy that I'm RPing an earth bender. My favorite bending was waterbending, but Earth might have jumped up there to the top.

Name: Mizuko Sanaa

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Bending Ability: Waterbending, Earthbending
Appearance: Mizuko has the trademark tan skin of the water tribe, and has dark brown hair and piercing blue eyes. She is the average height for someone her age, as well as an average build. She's not very physically strong. She wears a sky-blue tunic that cinches at the waist. Her light, almost pastel green pants are long and easy to trip on, and cover the tops of her brown moccasins. In wintertime she can be seen wearing a typical Water Tribe coat. Her long, almost-black hair is usually kept in a braid, with bangs. 

Personality: Mizuko is outgoing and friendly, but polite when she needs to be. She's laid-back and hard to get a rise out of, but very feisty if someone does manage to annoy her. She's an artist, and loves to paint and sculpt. She's not very competitive, but if she's really passionate about something she's doing then she may become competitive about it. Since she was born into the Water Tribe, she naturally loves swimming and tries to go whenever she gets a chance.

Backstory: Mizuko was born in the Southern Water Tribe. Her mother was a native to the Water Tribe, and her father had no bending ability, but his parents were Earthbenders. One day when she was little, it became apparent that she was an Earthbender as well as a Waterbender. Confused, the family moved to Republic City to find a mentor for her Earthbending, and to find out why she could use both Elements when she obviously wasn't the Avatar. They weren't able to figure anything out about her ability to wield two types of bending, but they did find her a mentor, who trained with her until she was 12. Afterward, her mother homeschooled her, primarily focusing on Waterbending.

Degree of Control over Elements: Average/slightly below average for Earth, very weak for Water. She spent most of her time in Republic training herself for Earthbending.

Bending Ability (limited to two abilities):

Air (primary) and earth.

 

Appearance:

A little short, blue eyes, dressed like the air nomads of old (a bit like Aang and the airbenders of his time), bald with the arrow tattoos, and with a short beard on his chin. Typically in a laid-back pose.

 

Personality:

Very laid-back, though knows when he needs to be serious. Does not necessarily feel bound to any place, and is often on the move.

He respects tradition (e.g. the way he dresses, his non-aggressiveness, the tattoos and lack of hair), but is not of the old fashioned type. Can seem a little air-headed and non-serious at times.

 

Backstory:

He grew up near in a small settlement near the ruins of the Northern Air Temple. His parents were both airbenders as well, and they helped him develop his bending skills when he discovered his airbending.

He was a quick learner, and it did not take him too long before he had a good grasp on general airbending.

 

He also had a tendency to just wander off, using his bending to get around, discovering new things. It was then he discovered a couple of caves with depictions and descriptions of Laghima. Laghima became some sort of role model for him to a degree, though Zoho was pretty sure he would never be able to achieve weightlessness/flight, so he did what he could with his own bending.

 

Some years later, he discovered he could earthbend as well, and saw this as an opportunity. Finding someone to teach him a little, he found he could use earthbending as some sort of springboard, and combining it with his airbending, he can fly/glide for fairly long distances. It was not quite what Laghima had achieved, but it was more than enough for Zoho.

 

After some time fleeting his way around the world, he had learned of an academy that helped people improve/control their bending. He then thought he could take a break and use his talents to help the students there - at least for a while.

 

Degree of Control over Elements:

Air: Master, can do most things with ease, and rarely needs much practice to learn new techniques.

Often uses it to run at high speeds, or soften falls when he's on the move.

 

Earth: He's somewhere in between. He's no master, but not bad either. Can raise walls around him, or at specific points to defend himself. Can also be used to help get around. Getting any farther with earth was quite tough, seeing as it was quite different from air.

 

Either way, he mainly uses them for either defence, or movement/getting around.

 

How his "flight" works:

He uses earthbending to make the ground he stands/lands on to shoot up, giving him a boost on his way up. In addition, he uses airbending to go farther, and it also makes him light enough to glide forward.

Tell me if you want me to change anything - and if he seems a bit too teacher-y rather than student-ish, then tell me and I'll tweak a few things to make him a teacher in stead (I'm open for both~)

Sorry about that. I like your character. I really do.It's just that, if you want your character to be a student, you need to do a couple of things. His airbending. The degree of control needs to be lowered. as this is a school and people learn things at school. So it would be kind of pointless for Zoho to be at near master levels of control. But as a teacher, he works extremely well. You just need a subject.

When I saw your character and you suggested about him being a teacher, geography sprung to mind. We already have a defensive bending teacher. I can't think of any bending related subjects for him to teach as well. Sorry.

My teacher also was put down for history, they could each have a scholar subject and co-teach defensive bending, one on evasion/avoidance and the other on stopping/blocking.

Are we low on students? For I am not sure if I can handle more than one in this case... I could try, but up until Wednesday I won't dare do much (I have an exam on Wednesday, in a topic which I have not had in school - doing all the reading on my own, so I am fairly nervous)
