What has happened over the years?

I used to be rarely active in keeping up with anything related to MLP due to the lack of time. But things are starting to slow down now and I'm able to return and do more exploring. It wasn't until a few days ago when I finally found a seemingly safe site for fans I could adhere to. I had great plans to contribute by interacting with others, creating artwork, stories, and even funding this site.

Every time I turn to the web for some ideas, I always see material I’m not a fan of regardless of how I try to avoid them. Do you know how embarrassing it is to search images of Princess Celestial at home for drawing tips, never mind the library? That was completely unexpected. I didn't see any of this a few years ago when I became a fan, and I am always mystified whenever I do accidentally trip over one. It is like finding out some beloved family member was drug addict.

The advice given from a few fellows I’ve met on here don’t work effectively, probably because the mess is so widespread. It could be anything- art, stories, film, or even comments. Indeed, I have missed out so much over the years that it seems my favorite show has been perceived by the general public in the wrong way. I hope this is not true.

Are some of those people really that bored to create such provocative material? Or is that there’s some kind of demand from the limited group who promotes them?

I really didn't mean to upset anyone here. Don’t let someone who hasn't been active in the show for a long duration ruin your day. Thanks for reading

Aly.. I think you are never gonna fully understand why they do it.. They like it thats why.. They want to see more out of something that was made for a yonger people.. They are changing it to their liking cause its fun and creative and new..

Because it's just what some people are into. Really, people shouldn't judge. It isn't actively harming anyone like some similar "interests", and) if you're talking about what I'm thinking) isn't really much worse than all the grimdark art and sadfics out there.

Deviantart, Derpibooru and Fimfiction are good places to go if you want pony stuff but don't want to see anything provocative, they have mature filters that are much more effective than Google's "safe search" feature.

Taco- I DID take action. That is why i have posted a thread about it. I'm not really judging, just wanting to know more while I've been absent, and would not have even mentioned this if it didn't spill all over the media.

You know there is a very active poll elsewhere (looks like the bullies enjoy both subtle and blatant attacks on fans for no obvious reason) about who would be eliminated off the face of the earth between bronies and terrorist organizations? Their votes is on us for this reason. This is only one example.

I hope this does not continue before a diamond fully biodegrades

I don't know if this will be much reassurance, but most of the cloppers I've spoken with online actually sincerely enjoy this stuff. It isn't to be shocking or to troll or anything like that.

Oddly I found that reassuring when I found that out. It's something of a consolation to know there is no malice behind it.

Be that as it may, I still wouldn't want to shake their hand or brohoof them.

Are you still on this? You've been given explanation, ways to avoid it and you have the chance to take all that to heart and you insist on asking the same questions as if you'll get a different answer. The answer will always be the same every time you ask.

What are you talking about? This was created the other day. Even if so, I don't find the explanations convincing

How do you not find them convincing? This weird stuff is out there. Some people enjoy it. There's not much you can do about it Not much more to say..

It. Is. The. Internet. And. Nothing. Is. Sacred. Within. It.   :maud:

, I don't find the explanations convincing

How do you not find what basically comes down to 'it's the internet, and there is a demand for it' do you not entirely get? Are you generally lost as to how someone could enjoy such material? If so, then fair enough, but you've been given your answer. :maud:

You don't find them convincing how? Are you so certain you'd accept any answer given?

It really doesn't help that you're being extremely vague about what you're talking about. Half the people you mention it to don't know what this is even about or why it all started.

Start with explaining what you're talking about and ask direct questions instead of dancing around the subject. It's very confusing for everyone involved.

Aly, as to "why are they crapping on my dream?"  Back in the 1920s there was a Jazz musician named Louis Armstrong.  When he was asked "Why do you play Jazz?" , he replied "If you have to ask the question, you wouldn't understand the answer"  As far as I can see, this applies to pretty much everything in life.

One thing I've seen over a long life is that guys are just more visual about porn, they just like to see it more than most women do.

Maybe you could create your own website?  G rated material about Princess C.  (I'm a dinosaur & have no clue whatsoever how hard that would be or how expensive).  You can't be the only to feel this way, maybe you can get enough support to make it work?

I KNOW it is the internet. I still really don't see how some people find it appealing. So yes, I'm flabbergasted alright. Got an issue?

More importantly, why is it even shown in the general public?? It wouldn't bother me so much if the material was tightly contained in ONE place

There is no way to contain it in one place. Everything on the internet is basically public.

I find it fairly annoying as well, (imagine me trying to bring up a picture of Twilight Sparkle to show my mom with safe search on), and I certainly don't like it. But it's just the internet and there's not a whole lot to be done other than tagging it better and keeping safe search on every possible site you go to.

If all else fails, there are sfw pony art blogs on Tumblr you can look at, including "Princess Moe-lestia" which is super cute.

If you read my original post, you'd see I'm a longtime fan of the show but was unaware of all the nonsense scattered over the web. So it hit me like a Lv 5 hurricane when I saw it the first time
