Vampire Unicorn?

Just a small thought that's been wandering around from a lunch with some friends.

We were talking about how it would be interesting to see each other's OC's as batponies, and I made the remark that me getting infected would make me a bat-alicorn, being that my OC Sēkr is a unicorn.

 

A Pegasus turned bat-pony gets new wings. Do unicorns/earth ponies get wings, or just a new dental plan?

That does seem like one way to create an artificial Alicorn, one perfect for use in a propaganda campaign. Perhaps the new Winged Batpony Unicorn could claim to be the reincarnation of Nightmare Moon, raise an army, and get their flanks handed to them by Celestia/Luna/Twilight? Or they could force their towns to go Independent, play the political game, become recognized as an independent sovereign nation, gradually create their own country, and never really be as great as Equestria but have the right to call themselves the rulers of DarknessTopia anyway. Which is the smart thing to do, really. When you're an evil overlord, you don't really need the entire world worshipping and serving you, just enough to support you and maybe your top dogs, enforcers and delegates. Like the evil science guy, the evil magic guy, the money guy, the connections/politics guy, whatever you're too busy being the badass untouchable scary doom-inator to do yourself.

Good question. I'd say unicorns get a sharper horn and fangs while earth ponies get....idk, something cool I guess.

This sounds exactly like what Sēkr would end up doing, at least politically. Probably would neglect the armies though, and be toppled that way.

On topic, we decided that a Unicorn would get something equivalent to ghostly wings (usable in short spurts), and hightened magic, but would need to feed more often (magic = more power needed). Earth ponies would get the short end of the stick, with just some fangs and a new diet.

I'm guessing Earth Ponies and Unicorns just get the fangs and crazy mane. It may be possible that it affects magic, either altering the effects of spells or making the Unicorn in question use spells of vampiric nature. Perhaps Pony vampirism would simply turn the Pony into a batpony with no horn. I doubt it would yield a pseudo-Alicorn. Race seems to be very visually definite in Ponies, as backed in earlier topics and discussions on Pony genetics and the Cake's children, and if pseudo-Alicorns were so readily yielded, not only would we see more, but Alicorns would not be so recognisable (young RD seeing Twi in S5 finale).

Being infected would only mean that your appearance changed to appear of that as a bat.. your wings change, and you gain bat fangs and bat ears..

If you do not have these things, they cannot change So Earth ponies and Unicorns would only gain sharper teeth as well as bat ears..

According to issue 33 of the comic, every vampire pony has fangs, a ruffled mane, and bat wings. However, unicorns will have a horn with dark/vampire magic in addition.
