It's not the only position open, but it is tough to pick between your character and Ducksquack's. Did you have another class that you wanted to play as if you didn't get Weapon Specialist?

@@The Shadow Stallion

At the moment, yes. It is one character per slot, but I'm considering opening it up to more people in the future. Maybe after the first mission or two. For races, ponies, zebras, gryphons and Changelings, mostly. Keeps it organized. Right now, there's only a few slots open, but toss up an application. At least it'll be there for later. If you like, I'll pm you the equipment lists for all classes.

Looks like Striker and WS are the only open ones (I thought hunter was already taken at the time of posting the previous message, and I thought it was still), but I think the character would work best as either a Hunter or Weapon Specialist, whichever is still open)

could I also be a hunter or WS? I can think of reasons why my OC (Chain Brace) would be one of those and he would be a scientist or medic but they are filled up and as a hunter he could make good traps from his talent or upgrade/fix guns as a WS

You may be able to become an Alicorn, but in this universe, that's not a good thing.

Also I haven't approved anyone who isn't already on the list. Still in the process of choosing who to approve.

@@@The Shadow Stallion@@Concerto Dusk@@@FractalMoon@@@Commander Tangent, @@Archi the Atmomancer,

Announcement, everyone. Due to the number of applicants vying for the last few open spots, I have decided to move up my plans to expand the squad. There will be an extra Weapon Specialist, Striker and Hunter slot for a total of 10 players. After these slots are filled, applications will be closed until a character is removed from action.

Also, to assist in selecting applicants and running the RP, I've appointed as a co-DM.

@,
Santakupo, I've tried your character profile link in your signature, but I can't seem to reach your character's profile. Can you please post your profile link so we can check out your character?

Alright guys, just to give an update on the character position numbers, we've tweaked them a little.

Ignore Windbreakers last post, There will be an Extra Weapon Specialist slot, but Striker and Hunter will only have one spot.

It is a general use character. It is nit a specific game character. I built him to run with a friends oc, but he had a chance in here.

So, people have mistaken me for a nice guy. I'm not. Don't like it? Tough. Your loss.

@@FractalMoon,

If you're thinking of trying to acquire gunpowder, I'm afraid you're out of luck. Gunpowder is obsolete and pretty much just an entry in the history books.

Not just the history books, also chemistry books. I mean, it's not a deal breaker if it's not a thing, but old fashioned hot lead penetrates many things that light doesn't.

@@FractalMoon,

Lead bullets are pretty much gone, metal bullets in general are gone. The only mention, and previous use that you will find for them, will be in the good old history books. When Windbreaker says light, he means energy, Which is physics. Or he means magical produced stuff.

Shoot a beam of light at some baddie? They may get a little hot if it's a hot light, but it's nothing special. It's a beam of light? What can it do?
Shoot a a bullet at some baddie? Possible chance of a flesh wound, possible chance of a more serious wound, possible chance of death. That all depends on how good of a shot you are, and a range of factors to do with the type of guns and bullets. Though most bullets tend to 'explode' when they hit a target, and when you use a bullet you've used a bullet, need more bullets.

Shoot some good old 'light' at a baddie? The 'bullet' like substance of magic which has solidified to be a material that is harder than diamonds will easily pierce through them, cause any kind of wound depending on the factors of what gun your using and how good of a shot you are, then dissolve into nothing to leave no physical trace of said 'bullet', and is renewable as you do not need to make more 'light bullets'.
Magic man, it can do some real cool stuff. Like make bullets that are way more effective than lead and gun powder.

History and Physics books, out!

Ah, that makes quite a bit more sense. I was under the impression that when he said light he meant light.

Hope this isn't too rushed: I noticed that Atheia's role is already taken in the reeboot, so made up a new guy!

Naturally, he'll get more fleshed out as I get a feel for him - there should be enough to get a general idea here though.

Etmas May

The Hunter

Role: Ranged Combat.

Primary Weapons: Marksman Rifle.

Secondary Weapon: Revolver.

Class Feature: Hunter Traps.

Race: Griffin.

Sex: Male.

Appearance: Lythe and wiry, Etmas is smaller than average for his kin - standing at about equal hight to that of the smaller, equine races. He is built well for his size, but still maintains a less physically intimidating appearance than is typically expected of his race.

Etmas bears a plumage of deep, mahogany red over a charcoal black coat. Running from his beak, up over his head and down his back is a band of brighter, golden-yellow feathers. These extend out slightly to circle his eyes, but are typically only two or three feathers wide at any other point. His eyes themselves are mismatched - one a vibrant amber, the other a verdant green.

He favors wearing as little armour as possible in combat: as far as he is concerned, if he is doing his job correctly then armour should serve no purpose at all other than weigh him down. Of course, 'nothing' would be foolish, but it is certainly not unusual to discover discarded pieces around live action training courses - 'modified' in the heat of the moment.

Personality: Cool, collected and cocky - Etmas knows exactly what he is, the good and the bad - and plays his own personality up to the extreme. He is a egotist - fiercely confident in his own abilities and equally loath to put trust in another. He isn't above teamwork, but if unable to see a job done, he begins to worry that somehow, it has been screwed up.

It's exactly because of this that he struggles to hold down work for any real length of time: Etmas managed to make ends meet before through gambling, and later enlisted after his 'good luck' became well enough known that he could no longer find a game to sit down to.

He is a 'analyser' - always watching, always trying to be at least two steps ahead of the guy who was a step ahead of everyone else. It makes him good at cards, but turns out it also makes him great at shooting. Being able to keep a cool head and frosty demeanour, even when deep down you know that things are going to hell? That's what Etmas does.

He has a somewhat strained sense of humor, and it can be dificult to tell whether he is joking or not on occasion. Despite this, he is far from reserved however: he tends to have something to say about everything, given the chance.

Even now, Etmas loves the risk of gambling: he always knows the odds and does everything he can to sway them in his favor. 'High risk, high reward' - that's how he thinks. He can't resist flashy performances, the thrill of the gamble and putting his fate into the hands of lady luck.

Fortune favors the bold, after all.

Traits:

Lucky: Some people just get luck more often than they should. It's not fair, but being on Lady Luckgood side has its advantages. For Etmas, the 'impossible' is merely the 'improbable'.

Marksman: Shooting a gun is easy - it's finding those crucial marks that really matters. Etmas can judge a targets movements almost as well as his own: leading shots, finding weaknesses and making sure that he isn't where he shouldn't be. He knows how to read a battle in a fraction of a second.

Gunslinger: Put a Rifle is his talons and he's dangerous. Put a Revolver there however, and he's a bad tempered force of nature... at least until he needs to reload. Still, six shots are more than enough to turn any tide, given the chance.

@@@Concerto Dusk@,

Tough call, but I'd have to go with Cinder's app. I would ask for a profile link, but we want to get started as soon as we can fill that last slot and we really don't have the patience to stall much longer.

Sorry Concerto and Santakupo. Maybe next time, guys.

Hey Everyone, Windbreaker will be starting the rp thread soon, but we just wanted to ask you guys something.
With your characters that you are using in the rp, can you tell us any prominent flaw or problem that could be exploited by the chaos magic happening on the ground? It would help us out with our villain for the story, how exactly we can break your characters!

Also, just to let you know, we are starting the roleplay on the drop ship. Introductions will be made then.

Hmm, ever since leaving their home so many generations ago whilst Bulawayo has never seen his native home there's this sense of heavy home sickness.

Do tell if you feel its not a good exploit, but perhaps this corrupted darkness could place images about his former homeland or such?

Do stick around Darling, I could use the company~

@,

I think you might've forgotten something. From the opening post: the Citadel represents the last bastion of ponykind.

Apologies about the bold test, but it does require emphasis. Now, I don't usually tell people how to make their characters, but there's one little thing that this particular RP requires. Every member of the squad was born on the Citadel. Also stated in the OP is that you are the new generation of Rangers, reinforcing that you were born on the Citadel. The idea of a native homeland is basically a note in the history books.

Post-apocalypse, everyone. You lose a lot when the bombs fall.
