Who would be a better Pokèmon trainer? Fluttershy or Twilight Sparkle?

I wonder who would be better? And thanks to everyone who voted . I also like Pokemon ( do not judge).

Twilight. Fluttershy would flip if animals were fighting and refuse to let them out of their pokeballs. She'd be better fit as a breeder. Then Twilight is book smart and understands strategy. Twilight wins.

I could see Fluttershy as more of a pokemon breeder as well myself, though it could also be said Twilight Sparkle would perhaps become a pokemon researcher. Though both could perhaps make a good trainer though.

But anyway, Twilight would definitely be the better trainer. I mean, can you imagine Fluttershy commanding a Gyarados to unleash Hydro Pump on a Flareon or something? She'd faint before her Pokemon would  Fluttershy would be best when it comes to increasing a Pokemon's happiness or helping it win a non-battle contest, though. Same with raising Pokemon in a day care.  

 

Now here is a question... what pokemon type would each of the Mane Six be when it comes to being a gym leader?

Hmm...

~Twilight- psychic

~Rainbow Dash- flying (maybe electric?)

~Applejack- fighting

~Pinkie Pie- normal (how ironic...)

~Rarity- genuinely not sure. Rock, for that is HER DESTINY!!

~Fluttershy- fairy or grass

Mane Six as pokemon trainers:


On them being Gym Leaders I would offer this:
Twilight -- Psychic ( because of her power of the mind, her intellect, also telekinesis)
Rainbow Dash -- Flying... or maybe Dragon 9 the second decause they are the 'cool' and most often can fly)
Applejack -- Grass (because of being a farmer with skill at growing things)
Fluttershy -- Normal (as they cover many 'animals' pokemon and are often the cute pokemon)
Rarity -- Ice (Often beautiful, that and ice crystals/gems)
Pinkie Pie -- Fire (... offered because of her energy and passion)

 

Also... the Royal Sister as Champains

Celestia -- Fairy/Psychic
Luna -- Dark/Ghost

I don't follow Pokemon really, but Twilight would be a better trainer.

Fluttershy definitely. She already has lots of experience with animals and can apparently speak with them far easier than Twilight could hope for. Plus I don't think it would even matter how many gym badges she has, Pokémon would listen to her because of that stare xD Also..

 

Don't want to get bit for being offtopic, but it's actually an é. Pokémon. I know I know, grammar nazi stuff (I'm not a grammar nazi though). But I love that someone at least tried here <3 (btw if you don't know how to get the accents, US international layout has them, really simple install in the Control Panel of Шindows)

Even if Fluttershy would be better at working with Pokémon, doesn't mean she would make a good trainer. She would not care about building a strong team and as has been mentioned before would probably not like battling with the pokemon she has but more like to raise and befriend Pokémon. Hence, do a bit better as a breeder not a trainer. Yes she can be a good trainer, but not as good as those who are more willing to battle and allow their pokemon to get hurt because of such. Also being a trainer requires a willingness to be social with other, to put yourself in danger when travelling.

 

Twilight on the other hoof would take the time to learn about pokemon, study their typings, their strengths and weakness, their moves and how to train them. She would consider the strategy of which pokemon would be best in any given battle, she would be more comfortable in interacting with other trainers and travelling into dangerous places. She would seek to learn and understand all she can about the Pokémon world, to try new things and to experiment with different battle combinations.

While she is more of a Professor, I could definitely see Twilight being a better Trainer. Given that she's smart and all, she wouldn't have much trouble on how to be a Trainer. I also think that Twilight would be really good at competitive play.

 

Fluttershy could make a good Trainer, but given that she doesn't like conflict, she would be more of a pony who would be more interested in breeding or Contests.

Fluttershy, I think, will run a Pokemon Daycare Center, breed Pokemon, be a nurse at a Pokemon Center, or participate in Pokemon Contests. Mostly, anything that won't hurt Pokemon or help Pokemon.

 

Twilight, on the other hand, will being a Pokemon Trainer, Pokemon Professor, like Professor Twilight Sparkle, Gym Leader, a member of the Elite Four, the champion, or anything that will allow her to use her knowledge and logic.

Then by the logic you used against Flutters, we can't be sure Twi would make a good trainer either. Even if she knows everything there is to know about Pokemon (strengths, weaknesses, abilities, etc) it doesn't mean she'd end up the better trainer. If anything she'd end up like Paul from the Sinnoh region, and we all know how that ended. So even thought I think Twi would be the superior trainer, in the true Pokemon spirit, there's still a chance Flutters would kick her butt.

I just can't see Fluttershy as a Pokemon trainer because that would actually require having her Pokemon fight others Pokemon which she probably wouldn't like too much. I could easily see her as a breeder or as a Pokemon doctor/nurse though so the winner by default is Twilight.

Maybe, if Fluttershy had the motivation to rise up as a trainer and becoming strong with her pokemon. To battle with her pokemon, allow them to get hurt and even more faint in battle. For her to not just play with the pokemon she finds cute and not scary... the point is by Fluttershy's very nature and personality being a strong trainer would be hard for her.

 

Heck, I would compare Fluttershy to Bianca from Black and White.

I see a lot of ponys saying that Fluttershy would be a Pokèmon nurse/Contestant/breeder,and I kind of agree. Though if Fluttershy had more motivation like @EquestrainScholar said, maybe Fluttershy might be a good trainer. I also saw some ponys saying that Twilight understands strategy better. I agree that Twilight understands strategy better. Finally, I saw some ponys commenting about Fluttershy running an Pokèmon Daycare. That would be interesting to see. I think Twilight would be better, because she is so very smart!

 

Not saying Fluttershy is dumb, just Twilight can think in the heat of the moment better (most likely)

The only exception I can think of is Blue from pokemon Gold and Silver. I admit that I haven't kept up with the games after Black and White, though I want to play the newer games.

Fluttershy would probably be better at pure training.  However, I can't see her making Pokémon battle -IMO, she would think it bullying & try to stop it.  I agree w those who say she would try to heal them, like Nurse Joy(S)

 

I see Twilight's style as being more like Gary (always knows the book answer) with some of Ash's ability to innovate & inspire.
