Theory A Minecraft Gaming Theory

Minecraft.

A cute little game about building houses and mining for resources.

But behind the calm piano music and gorgeous landscapes, could there could lie a secret to game?

Minecraft is a game that many claim to have no storyline whatsoever.

That YOU tell your own story.

But is that really so?

 

Here's my theory:

 

"Minecraft takes place in a post-apocalyptic era after a worldwide nuclear war occurred and Steve (you) is one of the only survivors of the war."

 

Now let me explain.

I've noticed that the game seems to take place in a very unusual setting and situation.

First off, you seem to spawn out in the middle of nowhere.

The default character they give you seems to have slightly tattered clothing and a mildly unshaven face.

This raises the question "What did Steve go through before he spawned to obtain these physical characteristics?

As you walk through the world and explore, you'll notice the unusual monsters in the game.

Giant Spiders?

Zombies?

Skeletons?

Zombie Pigmen?

Could all these monsters be a result of the effects that the nuclear war had on the remaining survivors?

I mean come on.

Giant Spiders and Zombie Pigmen?

That just screams nuclear mutation.

 

A Side Theory:

Pigmen were a race of species that existed before the war.

Almost the entire race was wiped and the remaining ones became severely mutated.

Thus, Zombie Pigmen.

Fact is, in one of the earlier versions of Minecraft adding Pigmen into the game actually came up as an idea in the Mojang group, but was scrapped for reasons unknown.

 

Now back to the main theory.

What about all the abandoned structures in the game?

Anyone notice that the Stronghold is exactly like an underground prison?

Speaking of the Stronghold, lets talk about it.

 

The Stronghold in minecraft is the largest underground structure in the game.

But question is, what was it used for before it was abandoned?

Upon observation, you'll notice that there are numerous cells in the Stronghold.

As if they were once used housing prisoners of some sort.

There's also libraries included in the structure.

Very large libraries too.

Possibly housing classified scientific information?

Maybe?

Lastly, you'll notice the unfinished End portal.

And I'm sure everybody people who have played this game knows where the End portal leads.

To the End.

A dark and scary dimension where a lone creature known as the Enderdragon hunts you down.

Now back to the Stronghold.

What was this Stronghold's actual purpose before it abandoned.

I'm thinking it could have possibly been a secret underground lab.

And something went completely wrong with this End portal once it was opened and now everything's abandoned and in ruins.

Notice that when you find the End portal, it already has a few eyes in it.

 

So this a developing theory I have on Minecraft.
