How would you get by in Equestria?

So... I searched around, and I'm surprised to say I couldn't find a thread on what you would do if you found yourself in Equestria.

You're still a human, so how would you get by? Would you try to find a way back to Earth to get back to the friends and family you went missing from? What would you do to survive?

Personally, I'd probably become a thief.

Think about it, we're practically designed to be thieves from an Equestrian's point of view. Thin fingers to grasp and pick-pocket, ponies would be used to pick-pockets either trying to stick their entire hoof in your coinpurse, or trying to navigate an object while you're moving out of your bags with levitation magic... idk about you, but if it felt like something was squirming around in my back pocket, I'd probably notice.

Not to mention our feet aren't as hard as hooves, we'd barely make a sound compaired to a pony thief, even if sprinting! Sure we might not be as fast, but our anatomies allow for us to be more dextrous! If I taught myself even just a little parkour, I think I'd easily become an infamous thief...

But I couldn't really survive off of valuables alone... So I'd probably put together a small group.
Ponies who would keep my identity as human secret, who would fence my goods, make my purchases for me from the money I earn, and take a portion of the loot as a reward... So I'd essentially be the Grey Fox from Oblivion

All I need is a cool thief alias and my plan would be complete

I'll go with... "Dusk Rose" because it still sounds like a pony name, so nopony would think I'm anything other than a rogue pony... maybe I'd even leave a rose as a calling card at every crime scene... Ok... Maybe I've thought about this a bit too much...

Also, if ponies would react to a human going to their homeland in any way similar to how we would react if one of them came to us, then getting a marefriend would be pretty darn easy.

Depends on the pony to human size ratio. If ponies in MLP are the size of normal horses, I might do well as a Blacksmith/Adventurer/Warrior of some sort, maybe could ride on pony back and be an archer. ^.^

 

On the other hand if they are smaller Then maybe I could be some sort of construction worker, I mean I wouldn't be as strong as them, but I would be really tall and could probably be of great help. Tall people usually come in handy when constructing things for shorter people. or in this case ponies.

 

I'd still be a warrior/adventurer though heheh. Also Tourist attraction might be a good idea or even selling myself to Twilight to be studied though fluttershy might try to befriend me, thinking Im some sort of strange mythical creature and that would lead to some comedy in Twilight trying to conduct an experiment and Fluttershy ruining by protesting on my behalf XD

First I'd find out if I can communicate with them. Sure, we hear their speech as English (or whatever language you watch the show in) but there's no guarantee they actually speak that.

 

After establishing that I can communicate with them, I'd probably go to either Twilight or Celestia, depending on whether I seem to be closer to Canterlot or Ponyville. I'd explain the situation and ask if there's some way I can either go back or somehow make myself useful in Equestria. Oh, and I'd try to hide the fact that where I come from horses are food (quite tasty food, really), while I'm at it.

 

Then I'd just do whatever they ask of me, or go back if they happen to know a solution.

I like the massage idea. Hands are probably better for massaging than hooves.

 

In fact, there are all kinds of jobs where hands/fingers would be better than hooves: dentist, pianist, fine needlework, scribe, etc. OK, in many cases these roles are filled by unicorns who can manipulate things without even needing their hooves, but still, I can imagine going around Equestria doing odd jobs which require manual dexterity for earth ponies and pegasus ponies.

Easy! I'd bring a whole lot of computer technology with me, build servers, nodes, daemons and what have you and "invent" the Internet in Equestria. I'd then open a shop where I could sell computers to the Ponies so they could go online.

 

Presto! I'd be rich in the blink of an eye and then could hire Filthy Rich as my personal housekeeper. LOL!

I could see myself becoming a blacksmith like my OC. I could forge the finest chariots and the hardest weapons and armor for the royal guard. I could also forge the shackles to keep the creatures in Tartarus in check. So I would be a Vulcan sort of pony.

Only if I was Katniss Everhooves (my OC and my cover photo, credit to deviantart.com), I'd get together with the Equestrian government and get them to destroy Ponyville for us to use as propaganda and seperate us into 13 districts with Ponyville as the thirteenth (obliterated) district, and have us go into a Equestrian TV match where 24 ponies from each district (except for thirteen) fight to the death. And I would become a winner of the games.

 

And then they'd start a rebellion against Canterlot (Capitol) and they would appoint me as their Mockingjay, the face of the rebellion, that just might start thermonuclear war.

And all the rebellious districts (ALL 13!) would want me on their side to fight.

 

(But if I didn't want to start thermonuclear/holy war, I'd just work in the coal mines of District 12. Sadly, I feel like being the Mockingjay would be the best)

And besides, I'd probably swap lives with Katniss Everdeen, because Katniss Everhooves came to be when Katniss Everdeen walked through a magic portal.)

I'd likely work at a library or museum of some sort. In the end I'd like to do my part in regards to the importance of history-based education.
