Funko Vinyl Recommendations

Hi! I'd like to know some recommendations for any Funko vinyl figures? I like aesthetics but I would also like a high quality one. I'm on a limited price range and I'd like some second opinion. Thanks!

All of the newer one are really high quality and are surpassed by non other then fan made stuff as far as looking like the show. One tip I would give espically if you are buying one of the older ones get it in person, some of them have bad spots on them.

True, it is usually a gamble when ordering via amazon as to whether or not there will be blemishes, gaps in the glued parts, and dried up glue that has squished to the exterior. That being said, the ones I have are all fine with me. In fact, I even received a glitter variant Spitfire, only paying $15 (she is worth around $80). They aren't going anywhere anytime soon, so don't be afraid of not getting them all.

Plus, there seems to be a lot of toy merchants who buy Pony merch in bulk, well aware that they can turn a tidy profit from us bronies through resell. Keep in mind that some of them come in black and/or glitter variants, and these are sold buy retailers at random. 

 

So just start with your best pony! Then move on to the others. Prices on amazon seem to be rather moderate right now for most of them. Good luck on your collection!

Celestia and Luna whever you can find it. I still haven't gotten mine and they are a pain the ascott to find ANYWHERE! It's frustrating too because I'm only 6 figures off from having a complete collection. All of the Funko figures are usually of high quality, but as the above poster suggested try and get them in person because sometimes they have blemishes on them. I'm not bothered by them myself, but you may be.

Yea sadly there is only one Hot Topic in all of Canada and I only know one store that sells the regular Funkos (The POPS! Creep me out..,) But I was planning on buying from ToyWiz. I'll look and see what the store near me has. I saw a Spitfire, which I'm kind of interested in.

I would recommended DJ PON-3. They vinyl is high quality (cutie marks on both sides) and she is just so...different. So not what people expect a My Little Pony to look like. She is so cool.

 

I would also like to say Rainbow Dash, because in the show she has the best colours, cutie mark and overall appearance of all the ponies (in my opinion.)

 

Unfortunately, FunKo artists obviously do not look that closely at the characters and screwed up her mane (blue red and yellow instead of red orange and yellow...) And being one of the earlier models she only has her cutie mark on one side. Annoying.

I would recommend getting any figure you like! I collect, but because of price, I'm only collecting ponies I like. I found Discord to be of high quality, as well as Daring Do and Fluttershy. Big Mac is also pulled straight from the show. Trixie has always looked good, but I don't own her. There are multiple variants, so I would decide if you want to go after the variants or not. They can be expensive, but if you deal hunt you can find them for just over double the 'face value'. Currently, Spitfire variant is on eBay for cheap (though it ends tonight), I've hear nasty things about Celestia and Luna (though I still want them both), so I would avoid them for now unless they are your absolute favs.

The one of Big Mac is the only one I have. I think he looks the most show accurate out of the ones I've seen. The ones by Funko seem to be the best looking compared to others, but to me the mares' heads are still just weird enough looking to bug me.

My advice: just get one of your favorite characters, or if you're looking to get into collecting buy the cheap ones first (derpy, RD, the earlier ones, etc.). Oh and don't buy too many 

 

Protip: Whenever Hot Topic has a pre-sale for new funkos, usually someone on Equestria Daily will post a nice 50% off 30$ purchase code in the comment section of the news section. Use this to basically get two for the price of one. Hell, I got Discord, Big Mac, and AJ for under 30+ 1$ shipping (someone had posted a 50% off 60$ code and HT was having a shipping promo). Basically, there are some good deals out there. Shop smart.

All of mine are the small, black ones, and I like them for that. They, for the most part, are in good condition; 6/9 were in great condition when I got them. the exceptions were a Pinkie Pie with a tail that was loose, a second Vinyl Scratch with a tail that was peeling at the body, and a Rainbow Dash which I plan on repainting. But other than that, their great.

I'm holding out for a Sombra/Shining Armor/Cadence one next, though Soarin would also be good! (However, I feel like they're done with the Wonderbolts for now, sadly).
