I haven't in quite some time. Although I appreciate EA giving the complete collection, I think I've moved onto The Sims 3, and haven't even installed TS2 on my new computer.

To be fair, I haven't installed any game but TS3 on it... Maybe someday down the line I might put TS2 back on. I just... feel like I have too much to do and too little time to do it. D:

TS2 days were the good days, though. I loved the game so much back in the day. Myself six years ago probably wouldn't believe you if you told her that she ever "moved on" to The Sims 3. lol

It was fun but I couldn't quite get into it as by the time I started playing TS2 I had already played TS3 so I didn't feel as involved with my sims or care about them as much

I played it a bit when EA gave it away on Origin.

It was pretty good except my character died and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong.

Maybe I'm just stupid ^^

You're not stupid. It can be a little confusing if you're not used to it and you don't have the right mods.

I'm pleasantly surprised. I wasn't sure if anyone was going to post in this thread. lol Thanks!

I actually never played the SIms 2 but I played the very first Sims back when I was 7 for the Playstation 2... and I played Sims 3 on my Xbox 360 when it actually read my CDs amazing game that was I was addicted for months, and I hope to get my hands on Sims 4.... I probably won't even mess with 2 since it seems to have a similar problem I had with Sims 1.... everything is isolated all you see is your home, grass, and the road... unlike in newer ones you can explore your town

Occasionally, I keep getting annoyed of my sims though, they're always hungry.  I can't do much with them except make sure they're fed.  I haven't really been playing sims 2 as I have been playing sims 3.  I think sims 3 has spoiled me, I love the open world concept.

Occasionally, I keep getting annoyed of my sims though, they're always hungry.  I can't do much with them except make sure they're fed.  I haven't really been playing sims 2 as I have been playing sims 3.  I think sims 3 has spoiled me, I love the open world concept.

I used to have that same problem with S2 until I got a mod that kept all Sims motives maxed out all the time. After that I could play the game any way I wanted and not have to worry about my sims motives after that.

Guessing from what you said I guess you weren't aware of all the mods that're available for S2? Or even S3 for that matter? There's literally thousands of different things you can get to add to the game that make it a lot more fun and enjoyable. Vanilla base-game with no mods is just boring but when you can install stuff that gives you all kinds of options for game play that's when things get a whole lot more interesting.

Pose boxes and facial expression boxes, a freezer clock (for stopping time and freezing a sim in place for a specific pose) all kinds of custom clothes and objects not to mention programs like SimPE, Body Shop Mechanic that lets you create your own custom content... Yeah. There's an amazing amount of stuff for that game. It's just mind blowing.

Here's a Derpy I made using custom stuff that I created in Bodyshop Mechanic:

The skin, ears and eyes are things that I created using Bodyshop Mechanic. The wings are a recolor.

Here's another thing I did:

I4NWvE0.jpg

Yes, it's Derpy and Anon, both again made with custom content (the suit with gloves I downloaded, green skin I made.)

Yeah, it's a whole lot more fun when you can get the right stuff to add to it.

I've played Sims 4, but never 2. Is it any better?

Also, where might I find these Sims mods?

Well, it's just my opinion but I think 2's better because of all the stuff you can for the game. Also, all the Expansion Packs are dirt cheap, now, since EA/Maxis isn't producing the game, anymore. The expansion packs run from Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open For Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life and a pseudo-EP called Mansions And Gardens stuff. It's best if you have all the EPs because different custom content works only in certain EPs so, if you have only the base game (Sims 2) then you have to be careful to make sure any CC's Basegame compatible so it'll work in your game.

The biggest and best site to get custom content, pose boxes, OMSPs (One More Slot Packages) and all kinds of game mods is Mod The Sims 2. They have a ton of stuff, more than you could ever use in your game. Sign-up's required but it's totally free.

A last note, here: Avoid The Sims Resource at  all costs! Although they don't charge for Sims 2 content, anymore, they do charge for stuff and that's a huge no-no and a violation of EA/Maxis agreement terms. Sign up is free at that site, too, but they also charge for memberships and if you don't have one they use a timer to make you wait for your download. Also lots of popups and ads on that site. Very annoying.

to be honest i played it was okay but that's from my knowledge from  5-10 years ago. So its worth look at.

Yeah, like I said in my other post it's definitely worth a look from a modder's standpoint.

Now, just for giggles I decided to make Derpy into an Alicorn. (Hmm... Might tick a few canon'ists off! "Derpy's not an Alicorn! She can never be an Alicorn!" LOL! Hey, she's a cartoon character and my Sim. She can be whatever I want! LOL!)

Anyway, here's Derpy as an Alicorn:

post-31850-0-57804100-1423687928_thumb.jpg

And a close-up showing the horn. I had to hunt around *forever* to find this dang horn and still had to recolor it when I got it! LOL!

post-31850-0-07671200-1423688006_thumb.jpg

Still, it was a lot of fun. In the future I plan on making custom skins, horns, wings, hats, eyes, whatever's needed to create the Mane Six (which, surprisingly, was never done for Sims 2 but was for Sims 3!)

Oh! And, yes! You can get custom clothes, hairs, eyes, pose packages and all kinds of stuff for Sims 3 and 4, too, at Mod The Sims.

(NOTE!: be very careful before adding any custom content to Sims 3 as it requires special and very exact instructions to do that. If you do it wrong you can screw up your game and/or the custom content just won't work. Always make a back up of your My Documents/>name</Maxis/Sims3 folder so if something screws up your game you can just delete the screwed up one and replace it with the original one.)

I missed out on the Sims 2 series but if I could I'd still play the first Sims. I also prefer Sims 3 over 4 although I did just read about an upcoming Sims 4 expansion pack.

I've played every version from the original to Sims 3. I didn't like S3 because: pudding faces. Also, putting CC into the game was a real hassle. Finally, when I upgraded my video card I got a prompt from S3 saying the card wasn't compatible with the game so it wouldn't run, anymore. Funny because I could run COD and other games at max settings with great FPS rates and awesome graphics rendering. S3 was just too picky.

I haven't tried S4 but I might at some point.

i did play The sims 2 played haven't played it in 5-10 years ago

Sometimes it's nice to go back and visit the classics. Battletoads! LOL!

i know right one day i need play it again

That'd be cool and if you need help with something or are having problems with something I can help you out with that. (I have just about every mod and custom game fix from Treeag's freezer clock, all kinds of pose boxes  to custom sky and weather mods that let you pick what kind of sky you have, what season, what kind of weather from snow to clear blue and sunny not to mention custom camera mods that work way better than the original game camera.)

I recently made a Mane Six house in Sims 4. I gave the house a funny name, too. If I said it here, could I trust y'all to not steal it?

Also, are there Sims 4 mods to lower Need rates, boost/multiply how much money you get, and possibly do something about how long it takes to boost relationships?

I'd like to see it and I can't speak for anyone else but I wouldn't steal it. Speaking of funny names... Funniest named lot in my game is the Road Kill Bar And Grill ("You kill it we grill it!") LOL! Funniest named Sim is Griselda "Princess Mumu" Snodblossom. LOL!

Pic related: It's a close-up of Griselda! (YIKES!)

That's absolutely sickening. Have a brohoof.

For the record, the house where Twilight and Friends live is called... The Mane Stay. HA! :D

*snip*

I know there's a lot of mods for the games but I don't want to mod my games, even though I know how to mod.  I prefer vanilla games over mods for some reason.  Perhaps at some point I'll pick up modding again but not at this point, maybe when I get a better computer.  Cute derpy by the way ^_^

"Sickening" was what I was going for when I created Griselda so it works! LOL Brohoof back atcha! :D

Ooh, love the name! :D "Mane Stay". Yeah! I like that! :D

I can't resist posting this video, it's the first sims done MLP-style. I would so buy this if it was a real game:

Thanks for posting that! Oh, and, it is a real game! Someone totally modded the original Sims and replaced all the original Sims with Ponies! (I'd love to know where to get and download it! I would so play it, myself!)

Okay, so, I've decided I'm going to try to find a download site for that MLP:FIM Sims game. So far I've managed to track it down to this site and the name of the game creator, which is listed as Yudhaikeledai. Next, I'll do a search on that and see if I can come up with a download link. If I do I'll post it here.
