Most inspirational pony?

I was just wondering about this and who others think the most inspirational pony is. 

For me it has to be Fluttershy. She pulls herself through so many situations just for the benefit of others and manages to solve her own problems as well.

Her will to improve herself and make the lives of other ponies around her (no matter what it may require) is truly inspirational to me.

It does make me want to follow in what she has achieved quite a lot of the time.

 

So what do you guys think? Who is the most inspirational pony?

 

Also if there is another topic like this one please feel free to merge them :3. I'm tired and didn't want to look through loads of stuff .

Looking at all she has accomplished so far, I'd say Twilight Sparkle.

She started as a regular unicorn, then she became Celestia's student, then the element of friendship, then an alicorn, and finally a princess.

 

Rarity is a close second, just like Twilight she started from scratch, and is now a well-known artist.

As a father of two teenage daughters, Rarity actually represents my hopes and desires for them. To be to be viewed as more than just their gender, regardless of how they embrace their femininity. To be able to make a mark in the world without sacrificing who they really are at heart. I want them to retain their passion and love for their eventual choices in careers.

I'm gonna have to go with Twilight Sparkle.

Why? Because you see how much she values friendship even though she didn't care about it at first and how much she progressed throughout the show. People would be inspired to realize how valuable friendship is in their lives by seeing Twilight's example.

Rather than talking about how Rainbow Dash has been an inspiration in-show (though I'd assert that she certainly has), I'm going to talk about how she has inspired me personally.

 

I've written over forty poems, songs, and other pieces about, involving, or for Rainbow; you could say she's my muse. x3  And she's often been the subject of my forum posts - here and elsewhere.  I've also attempted several Dashie drawings and videos.

 

I've struggled with severe obsessive compulsive disorder for more than half my life.  Since Rainbow came along, I've made more progress than I had in years.  This is not an overstatement: She's genuinely changed my life for the better.

 

Rainbow inspired me to feel again.  To unbury my emotions.  The sensation of an unexpected tear running down your cheek is inexpressibly significant when you've not felt it in what seems like forever.

 

She inspired me to believe; to take a leap.

 

She allowed me to open myself up to experiences I'd long shunned and even feared; she gave me courage.

 

And, well after I'd resigned myself to a bitter, broken heart, Rainbow Dash inspired me to love again.

They're all pretty damn inspirational. Four of the Mane 6 have been mentioned already, so I'll play devil's advocate and point out:

• Applejack's life isn't easy, losing her parents at such a young age, and running on the farm. But she keeps going and never complains because she knows what needs to be done to keep her family together.
• Pinkie Pie devotes her whole life to improving other ponies' lives. While you or I might not choose to do that by throwing parties, and instead try to improve lives through more practical methods, you have to admire the purity of her intent.

I agree, for me it's Fluttershy. I relate to her behavior in many ways so she's the most inspirational for me.

 

- She's very timid and passive and sometimes let's others take advantage of her, but she's learned to be more assertive. I can definitely relate to this.

 

- She also tries to do anything to avoid conflict with others rather than being herself but has learned to overcome this. I am like this all the time.

 

- Finally she has learned to be understanding of peoples' (or animals') situations as shown in "Bats" and with Discord. Sometimes it's easy to judge people from first glance.

 

Fluttershy is absolutely the most inspirational pony for me because of her situations that I can relate to.

I think my post about Derpy in my AMA explains pretty well my adoration for her, and I do believe the reasoning works for "inspire" in place of "adore".

Short version, Derpy is most inspirational pony, at least for me.

Ever since the applebucking season episode right at the start of S1, Applejack has been an inspiration for me. I severely lacked any kind of work ethic after moving up to secondary school when I was 11 and my grades took a hit because of that. But watching the show and seeing how Applejack worked so hard and yet also made sure to be there for her friends...I dont know, it sort of...changed something in me and all I know is that AJ changed me for the better.

I can't really say Twilight or Rarity, as their accomplishments are mostly informed and otherwise fantastical, not really anything to inspire a person.

 

Pinkie is the one I'd say is most inspirational in my opinion. She's superhumanly good, but all in ways that a person can really try for. She doesn't resent, she doesn't get jealous, she doesn't hold anything against anyone. Well, in the first seasons anyway.

I'm going to go with Applejack. AJ is content with a simple life of hard work and caring for all of her loved ones. She never asks for more and appears truly grateful for her lot in life. She has assumed the core of responsibility within the Apple family following the (albeit implied) death of her parents. As a result, she has become the face of the family business and the matriarch of the Apples. She has taken on these roles from a seemingly young age which gives me the utmost respect for her. In my opinion, 'Raise this Barn' could be seen as an obscure allegory for AJ and her struggles that she has overcome and pieced together, bit by bit over time, in order to establish something wonderful in her life. Finally, she is humble and she is true to herself and those around her. For all of these reasons, Applejack is best most inspirational pony.

Pinkie Pie, simply because she does what she loves regardless of what others might think. Throwing parties, making other ponies happy, and just enjoying life in her own way? To me, that is something special and is inspirational for me.

 

Twilight is another one of course but she is basically the obvious inspirational character so I pick Pinkie for this one.

My favorite pony is also the one I look up to the most: Celestia! (wish their was an icon I could use)

 

That mare is definitely someone to look up to. She learned the hard way the cost of negligence to those you care about, and since then she's done her best to never fail like that again. She's made plenty of mistakes, I'm sure, but we know that everything she does, she does out of love and compassion for those close to her. She even tries to reason with her enemies and only attacks when they refuse to see reason. That stuck with me. It made me want to strengthen my bond with my sister and try to better myself in little ways every day. It's also led me to stand up against my bullies! As a result, I've made a lot of friends and have been exposed to new experiences I doubt I would have if I'd never changed.

Wow it's quite interesting seeing everyone's views on this and the reasoning behind it. It seems like whatever one you choose seems to have a personal link with you. Something you can relate to fairly strongly.

 

Also a little reminder of. They don't have to be a pony from the mane 6. It can be any that you want .

Just thought I'd throw that in.

 

Another thing I've noticed is that people have been choosing their personal best pony (I think) so what I'm thinking now is that there is a link between who someone thinks of as their best pony and what one inspires them most. Not that many posts to go off I know but it's just what I'm seeing so far

To me the Mane 6 as a collective are most inspiring because they reignited my idealism which was really mostly dead at the time I started watching the show.

 

If I have to pick a single pony though, then Twilight's my choice. I can relate to her most of all and while the things she does are magical, I know the feeling of having great friends as well as the feeling of not having them. Especially in the 'Friendship is Magic' two-parter I can relate to her as she discovers the meaning of friendship.

For me, it'd have to be Twilight. Considering her nature for book smarts as opposed to street smarts, she still rises to the challenge of combating her inherent awkwardness, her struggles with her position, and her rise to ascendency to reach her potential. Even then, she still fights to find her place, and with the help of her friends finds a way.

I kinda think Twily has it the easiest other than saving equestria a few times we all know how much of a breeze student life is. All parties and friends even thought that wasn't really Twily's scene before moving to ponyvillve but still.
