I intentionally omitted ones that do not appear in any of the official animated shows. So no Lunas which are found exclusively in the comics. And not these two either...

That's probably just because she's standing next to Sunset Shimmer. Everyone looks fugly when they stand next to Sunny.

I voted for her current design, but I've always liked this fan produced one too. Such a different look. I'd lose the bow but it's different.

Without a question, her redesign is Best Luna. Everything about it actually screams not just royalty and Luna, but also fantastic design. NMM's design is fine, but the blue and black conrast too much. Her original design doesn't look royalty one bit and is really dated; the colors are too inappropriate to create the feel of "night" for the character, and the hair doesn't work. Luna's redesign has a brilliant blend of all sorts of dark blues with a nice use of green to make her eyes stand out, and her ethereal mane/tail — along with the extra twinkling of the stars — creates a much better denotation of her being Celestia's sister.

I like redesign/current pony Luna the best. With that flowing, star-speckled mane she looks just as glorious as her sister. Her dark coat makes her stand out in the mostly light and bright colored pony crowd. This design is just a great physical representation of the night, unlike a certain light blue bipedal vice principal.

It makes sense in that they wanted to portray her as more of a counterbalance to Celestia. So they needed to make her taller, darker, and more majestic looking.

 

(And of course, in Equestria nothing is considered to be more majestic than semi-transparent hair which moves of its own volition.)

Third out of five options isn't losing, but it would be nice if she were doing a little better.

It does look pretty and i guess it's quite princessy. And it had already been covered on a different thread as to why her mane was like that (she was all out of magic and her mane is her reflection of her magic) but i just think she looks a lot cuter with her non celestial mane also her voice at that time was adorable not the royal canterlot voice we came accustomed to but then somehow faded after the nightmare night episode (the name evades me) argh rambling now whoops.
