My Deer OC

Hey everyone, soo like many of us we all have OC's (Original Creations) or ponysona's which ever you prefer. And like everyone in this fandom, I too have OC's...maybe more than the average person should have..BUT honestly I can't help it, I love making new characters of my own creative design, giving them life, a personality, the whole sha-bam! 

 

This is the newest I've made, I plan to use her in Roleplay once she's finished. Here's what she looks like, and I will also include the info on her as well.

 

*NOTE* This character is in a working process, so the info I have isn't much!

So here she is! This is my first deer OC, as you can tell by her color palette I've chosen to do matte coloring. The only exception is her hooves which are chocolate brown but in my opinion I think it work well with the matte colors. You can only get the idea of her personality, which I will say isn't like a Fluttershy clone. I've come to the conclusion that her personality will reflect off of tenderness, purity, innocence, and chastity and yes, she will also be sweet, and heartfelt towards something or somepony in suffering or trouble. 

 

Now I've been brainstorming ideas for her backstory which is almost done for typing it out later on the Character Profile section of Roleplay, but what's really hard to figure out, and in most cases everyone can relate, choosing the name. I was thinking of either one or double name, but with what I've been over-thinking I've yet to find the perfect name for her. And that's where YOU, yes you the one who's reading this, I'm trusting all with creative minds as mine will come together and help me with this last task of finishing this character! 

 

I would like something that represents her personality and fairness. That sounds gentle. I wish everyone the best of luck!

I've always wanted to see deer in MLP, well, them and other races. We've seen a few donkeys and griffins, but we didn't get any glimpse to their culture.

 

As for a suggestion? I'm thinking they're very nature oriented. Holly Sprig?

I was about to post to say I hate it, but then swear it's a joke. Cause really, this character is just adorable. I want to know more about her and what she can do. Do sentient deer have talents, and what about Marks?

 

You're looking for a name? This might sound incredibly cliche, but how about Dear? It's a play on her species and she is a dear cause a sweet close to Flutter character like this would very much be one. I'm terrible at names, I admit. Wouldn't be surprised if you don't like it.

 

Until they get introduced into the show with marks, I guess not. But honestly I can't think of any special talent for her. I mean in the show changlings don't have marks, and if I can recall the two horses from Saddle Arabia they didn't have marks either. I guess some types of ponies or anything with hooves just don't seem to have marks. So from that I can assume for now that dears wouldn't have cutie marks. Also the name does sound cliche, it's clever but not suiting for her. It's like naming a pet bird "Bird" you know?

Maybe desaturate the hooves juuust a bit to avoid the drawing the eye away from the face.

 

As for a cutiemark, maybe some celtic knot or spiral design? I feel it would go well with the Character as well as the whole "one with nature"angle.

I prefer her hoofs that away, it's not too long or short and I like bangs, it brings a mysterious yet innocent vibe to her appearance. And like I said: "Until they get introduced into the show with marks, I guess not." I'm not including anything from the comics. If I do not see it in the show then it's not canon, and therefore it doesn't exist within the show or to me.
