What the..? So there never was a tomorrowland before? 

 

And no, this isn't the dashite hideout.

 

Nope. Disney took a page from the ​Pirates of the Caribbean thinking, and made a film adaptation out of one of their theme park attractions. In this case the "Tomorrowland" portion of the Magic Kingdom for those who have never had the bliss to have been there. So there was no prior film they were adapting this from or really any specific narrative. 

 

Again though, it payed off as it did with the pirates, this is one of the most easily recommendable films I've seen.

You know, that would actually work. It is a post-apocalypse after all so why would a cyborg community build it's own facility rather than live in one still standing? Especially considering there would be plenty of the parts they would need to be scavenged and cannibalized from the remains.

Oh right, for a second I thought that was only little pip's rifle, but I only remember the fire effect on it. Unless the armor piercing is in reference to your bullets.

The fire effect is in every zebra rifle mine included. The armor piercing part was a little extra kick due to the enemy being a hellhound and all. Also yeah the amusement park setting would be a lovely change of pace too huh steel.

What sense does that make? I mean granted racism alone isn't logical, but it usually is grounded in some rationalization. Cyborgs, by their nature, aren't born. "Freak" would imply a disturbance of the natural order. Cyborgs aren't natural but most would take that with pride. They say "screw evolution!"

 

So, if you want to go with a "hostile to outsiders" thing, calling being elitists makes far more sense than racists.

The society isn't necessarily hostile to outsiders, think of it like the brotherhood base in new vegas, they were sealed off from the outside world, save for their supply runs and I do recall them questioning you and taking your things away when you first gain access to their base. The only difference here is that the residents of the city, before they had came into the city were treated poorly, ridiculed, and even shunned from society. So they would hold some spite towards outsiders, especially since most of their encounters with ponies was unpleasant at the very least and even traumatizing at the worst. I also used freak in a general sense.

Your taking this a bit too extreme, there's a difference between having superpowers and having little quirks that make every pony look at ya funny. Cyborgs in the wasteland are pretty much all amputees who wanted an alternative, nothing special about that. Tomorrow land is a refuge for the mistreated who want to shun the world that hurt them so much. I couldn't really see them acting like any of the mutants from x-men due to them not having superpowers and stuff.

Hey, the parallels are there. Many comic books are genuine modern mythology and the X-Men fit this same mold that Defender is going with the cyborg ponies with. Ostracized because they're different, build a secret community in which they can be accepted, have powers beyond their ken.

It's not about the powers, it's about the social dynamic and how they are treated by society at large.

 

A ) Not all mutants have "super powers" in the comics, some of them have just a weird quirk.

 

B ) Some cyborg ponies most definitely have greater power than normal ponies due to their augs.
