Applejack's Over-Emphises

Does anyone find Applejack's singing voice to be a bit annoying? I feel like Ashleigh Ball does a little too much over-emphasizing on certain words when she sings as Applejack compared to some actual country singers.

It depends, I for one liked her singing voice in Bats! but I found it a bit annoying in Raise This Barn.

I can tolerate it in some songs, but then there are others like "At the Gala" and "What My Cutie Mark is Telling Me" where I think she gets a bit too country and her voice becomes cringy.

well, I love Applejack's voice season 2 and above, both in talking and singing. In season 1, I may agree with your statement in things like the gala song but apart from that...not really

I can understand why people would feel this way but I think she sounds great, and it's really impressive that Ashleigh can sing so well in a voice completely different from her own.

As someone with a bit of a country accent, that's how some of us sound like when we sing, and calling it annoying is rather rude.

 

If any mane 6 member is a bad/annoying singer it's Rainbow Dash.

Apologies if I offended you, as that was not the intent. But I do agree, Rainbow Dash's singing voice is something I could live without.

Yeah I reckon Rainbow Dash is worse than Applejack when it comes to singing though.

Eh, she sounds fine to me. Ashleigh Ball is a fine singer (she even is the singer in a band outside of My Little Pony), though I enjoy all the singers used for the Mane 6 (Rebecca Shoichet's probably my favorite though). I live in North Carolina, and there are quite a few people down here who have a strong southern accent, and Applejack's voice isn't far off.

I don't mind her canon voice when it comes to Songs, but in MY head..this womens voice is all I hear.

IIRC, Arthur Godfrey reviewed Nazzo Guido w the snark "Last night Guido Nazzo was Nazzo Guido.  His voice was rotto w vibrato" 

 

Seriously, IMO, the songs are mostly just for the kids & I consider enduring them as part of the price I pay for watching a kid's show.  If it wasn't her, it would just be someone else.  She is no more irritating than the others
