I love the new Hobbit movies. I actually haven't seen the LoR movies yet, because I have yet to read the books. I've been meaning to for along time but there's always something going on that distracts me or takes up too much time. 

 

I'm determined to read the books before seeing the movies in this case.

When you have the time, you should check out the LOTR trilogy. It is worth the watch, trust me.

 

I personally adore the LOTR franchise. Everything about it: the storyline, characters, action...has a lot of effort put into it. I also watched all of the Hobbit films, but I think they weren't as good as the LOTR; mainly because the Hobbit movies were based off of a 100 something children's book with little source material.

The books were really good. I also recommend reading the Silmarillion if you are interested. 

 

I really loved Gandalf. When Frodo wished the Ring had never gotten into his hands, Gandalf came with this amazing quote (in the movie of course): 

“So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

I also liked Saruman. I am able to do a little bit of his voice (Cristopher Lee  )

Is it only me or is it stupid that they forced Legolas in hobbits?Book was great and it didnt have him in it.

I thought having Legolas in the Hobbit movies was a wrong move on Peter Jackson's part. He did practically nothing except fight bad guys throughout the movies. I think the director added him in there for fan service.

I would say the Hobbit book was better than the movies and the LOTRs movies were better than the books. Just my opinion.

 

I dearly love the old animated Hobbit movie.
