spoiler FIENDship is Magic #1 - Sombra

Ashen Pathfinder

And some Bronies have speculated that Hope later snapped and willingly let some Changelings drain all her love so she couldn't feel the pain of loss anymore, but they ended up turning her into a certain Queen...

That's an...interesting idea, actually, though I don't know if something like that would be pursued. Though with Chrysalis getting her own issue it's be...something if that turned out to be her actual origin. :D

Yeah, I got a couple of reasons that might have been edited:

1- They intend to use her in the future (Princess Amore belongs to the official canon, as seen in the Journal of the Two Sisters)

2- Actually killing her was too strong for a pony comic, besides, being blown to pieces, while it's usually fatal, it's no stranger of being kept alive, but not fully revived unless each piece is reunited (But that's usually reserved for bad guys  :P )

Regardless, I think getting rid of Amore makes sense, otherwise how they're gonna explain her absence in the official canon?

It'll be interesting if they actually pick up on the story to resurrect as there has to be good motive and reason why other than to 'resurrect a character for the sake of it'. Frankly I don't see the need for her return, especially with her great descendant Cadance taking over, unless they want to induce some power struggle or so, course then again that would have to be done by a villain or so for it to make sense of the possible situation.

As for how the show's going to explain why she's not in the show itself, more likely they'll just make her appearance a one shot type deal and have her vanish in the comics, or just simply not bother picking up on it whatsoever.

I think is far more likely that Hope is Cadance's ancestor instead of Amore, as she escaped the disappearance of the Crystal Empire. Her name Amore Candensa, was probably given by Celestia in honor of the former princess, and foresaw her future role as the new ruler of the Empire

Is their anywhere on the internet that I can read this?

Places to read it online, there are alot, but don't expect me to share them, as this is considered piracy, and it is sanctioned in this forum

Good point, made an error in that regard and it is true. Thank you for pointing that out, Steve Piranha.

Sombra: "I failed you, Hope. I wish there were another way for me to say it. I cannot. I can only beg your forgiveness and pray you hear me somehow, someplace. Someplace where a warm hoof waits for mine."

I went and read this comic. Having done a blog defending as to why Sombra is a good villain, I must say that reading this comic made me a VERY happy person! I mean, it cleared up so many things that the 2 parter Crystal Empire couldn't give us;

1. A well placed, tragic backstory for Sombra.

2. A reason for his tyranny and enslavement of the Crystal Empire.

3. A reason for why he wanted to maintain constant control over the Crystal Empire.

That ending also gave us a clue that we may be seeing a return of Sombra! SOOOOOO EXCITED!

Saw this bit of fan art, I really had to shed a tear. I didn't think there'd be an issue even more tragic than Reflections.
Speaking of Reflections; does this mean Mirrorverse Sombra is a Shadow Pony as well? Perhaps just the result of Sombra going against his kin's wishes and turning back on the darkness? But then wouldn't he be with that universe's version of Radiant Hope? Or would she be the evil one in this instance?

She would likely be the evil one considering her likely descendant in Cadance is portrayed as one in that verse.

Well, it's probably fair to say that the Mirrorverse in general runs under a different set of rules. Don't forget that one of the Elements of Harmony is Queen Chrysalis herself; a changeling. Does that mean the changelings are much more harmonies in this world?

If that's the case it might say the same for the shadow ponies; if they even exist in the mirror verse at all.

I loved this issue, it was great.

I would be surprised if this storyline isn't continued, is there a possibility that there will be future Fiendship is magic issues after the current set?

Hey I got a better question, how are people getting a hold of this cool looking comics? Are they canon? Can you find them online?

A shadow pony race does answer a lot of questions but does pose one other one. We know that there are Umbra unicorns but the question is are there are also any Umbra earth ponies and pegasi as well? And what kinds of abilities would they have? And where did they come from? Before this comic there were all kinds of fan theories about King Sombra making some sort of deal with Grogar who for those of you would are unfamiliar is a G1 villain who was the king of a kingdom called Tambelon and was one of the influenced used for King Sombra. It is clear that Sombra didn't make such a deal but there is nothing that says that there wasn't anything similar involving his ancestors.

The story reminds me of the story of Giygas who is the main villain of the Mother series (known as Earthbound in the US) who struggled with the loyalty to his people and his love for Maria and George who were the humans who discovered him when he was a baby and raised him like their own son. They both turned into monsters after they killed their own consciences except in the case of Giygas it was even more drastic.

They're part of the official comics. :) You can find them in comic book stores irl, or buy digital versions online. For digital versions I recommend comiXology.com.

It's possible, or they'll be countinued in another series.

Hey, I know I claimed the possibility of Hope being Cadance's ancestor, but she could also be ancestor of BLUEBLOOD  . I mean, if what the Crystal Heart showed is true, Hope could fufilled her destiny of becoming princess regardless, she's an unicorn too, but she didn't became an alicorn as far as we know

Quote from Lauren Faust about Prince Blueblood (the quote is from before the S1 finale, which is why she says he's unnamed in the show).

Edit: Explaining "52 times removed" in case anyone doesn't know - That basically means how many generations apart. So he's their great-great-great-great (etc) nephew with about 51 "greats".

An okay issue IMHO, but i had a couple issues, which pretty much boils down to pet peeves. 1.) Sombra's speech pattern as a colt (speaking in the third person drives me nuts) and 2.) Cadance and Twilight calling each other sister instead of sister-in-law just seemed weird and awkward to me for some reason.
