All the people all over the internet voting for Snake and Bayonetta and all these other non Nintendo characters....


It even says at the top of the page "Which NINTENDO character do you want in smash?" Just because they say voting is open doesn't mean every character that was in a video game becomes free reign...

Personally I haven't even voted yet, because I'm busy sifting through lists of Nintendo characters that have been forgotten about and actually need a little bit of fame again.

I disagree, I think it's fair to ask for non-Nintendo characters(as long as they don't get stupid with it) especially if Nintendo played a big part in it(whether it be like Shantae, where the series has mainly been on Nintendo platforms, or if it's like Bayonetta where Nintendo personally revived and funded the sequel).

Still the fact that people are getting so convinced that just because they voted for a character that Nintendo doesn't have the licensing of anymore will get in if they spam the vote box enough makes me sad. Bayonetta I am so on the fence about, I mean yes she is a great character for a fighting game, but the game everyone wants her in is an E 10+ game. How do you correctly display her powers that would get you warning points even on this site for sexual/nudity into a children's game...Shovel Knight I would love but I doubt it would get in mostly because as a series it hasn't had time to develop. So far it is a one hit wonder and I would like to see the series become bigger before he is thrown in with the big leagues. My only argument for it is that it really would help Nintendo's 3rd party/indie situation. Like bring a 3rd party indie character to your big huge famous franchise and you will make a lot of news.

I voted for Miles 'Tails' Prower, the guy you always want to have with you in any situation.

 

First of all: Sonic is a great franchise. This is the very first video game I ever played. And to play against my brother on Sonic 2 was just amazing. And Tails is a cool character, he can fly, use some stuff, attack with his tails, he just could be great.

 

Also, he's a genius, he always beats Dr. Eggman (remember, the evil 300 IQ mechanics doctor, yeah!), he can pilot the Tornado (Final Smash ???  ) He has everything to be a great playable character. And SSB has a huge lack of third party characters. Yeah! Why only three per game?! It's a shame! Shame on you, Nintendo!

 

I also voted for Eggman. I know, I'm also a Sonic fanboy. But this villain is just amazing.

I know, but I think Shadow was just the obvious choice. And I'm not Captain Obvious, I just want characters to return in their own place, that's all. Oh, yeah, I think I'll also vote for Knuckles (Rampage!!)

My biggest problem is that I have so many characters that I want, but they are all well known and don't need as much love as another series. Like I would feel happier watching someone else's favorite make it in because that character needed to be revived. Like if I went full greedy I would vote for all 30+ of the F-zero Racers, and my brain justifies it too. I mean ti has been so long any of them have made it into a new game.

And so do I with Sonic characters. I know, we've seen them in Sonic Generations, but they are just side characters, they're part of the background. Even in that lamish Sonic Boom (how I hate this game, even if I didn't play it), the characters are not the same as they are in the series: they are just random characters who look like the characters they are supposed to be. 

 

And of course, I want so many Sonic characters, and I'm pretty sure some of them won't be playable, but they worth the try.

Just for rationality, I think we should rule out:

-Characters that are already assist trophies (eg. Waluigi, Saki, Shadow)

-More Pokemon

-More Mother/Earthbound characters

-Unfortunately Ridley, because of Pyrosphere

-Any character not originally from a video game (LOOKIN' AT YOU GOKU)

 

I also think Indie characters have a low chance, but I obviously can't guarantee that. And considering how Metal Gear is gone near PS exclusive, (Raiden was in Battle Royale too) Snake has a pretty low chance, but we can still wait and see!

I don't exactly know how Nintendo is in relation to the creators of Bayonetta, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say she has a bit of a chance.

 

Of course, voting could nullify a lot of these. We don't really know yet. These are just my thoughts.

Wolf O'Donnel! I think we need more villains, and who better than the leader of Star Wolf himself!? He was pretty fun to play in Brawl (I wouldn't consider him my main though), and it'd be awesome to play as him again.

I think I'm the first to say Banjo-Kazooie on this thread. All the different move sets Nintendo can take from that game is endless. For me, that's what made the game so fun was learning the next move from Bottles. I liked Banjo Tootie the best out of the series. Nuts and Bolts was fun too, but that was an xbox game.

I had a feeling it was a joke, but I had to get in on the fun anyways and see what happened. Are those subtitle translations real? Either way, Nintendo managed to get some more publicity for their biggest game. When I see stuff like this, it's almost as if Nintendo understands how to promote their IPs. Of course, they will be back to being out of sync with the industry ASAP.

I voted for Bass from Mega Man, and Maxim from Lufia 2.

 

Bass, because why the hell not? It would be awesome to play at Mega Man's big time rival, and his play style would be kinda like Mega Man but not the same...plus Zero has been in a fighting game, so why not?

 

As for Maxim...the Lufia series needs love, it's too great to just die off. They made the reboot of 2, and to be honest, it could use attention so maybe Lufia 1 will get a remake/reboot, because that REALLY could use it.

Except that, A: Zero is 100+ years more advanced than Mega Man, and far superior. B: Zero's primary weapon is a sword...we have enough sword freaks. C: They'd probably try to push MMZero, because of the fact he has more weapon variety and skill set.

I was originally gonna go with Protoman, but aside from the Protoshield, he's identical to Mega Man, so I tried to veer away from a clone.

Bass has a blastah, Protoman has a blastah... and a shield, Zero has a blastah, and a SWEET LAZOR SWORD  . Heck, I think that even Roll, if she uses similar moveset as Tatsunoko vs Capcom is a better choice. Despite how silly it was her concept, she was extremely broken in that game
