Sunny Fox 5,952 June 11, 2015 Share June 11, 2015 Vampire fruit bats are probably no more supernatural than real vampire bats, so all those aspects probably don't apply. 1 Happy minion of The Fabulous One! Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,803 June 11, 2015 Share June 11, 2015 I don't think it was 'vampire' qualities that she had, it was just bat qualities, which there is a distinct different with those. Plus it was the traits of fruit bats, not vampire bats.
Photon Jet 5,491 June 11, 2015 Share June 11, 2015 That I'm not sure. I do remember her turning into a bat when Twilight's spell had gone wrong but vampire qualities? I don't think so. 1 Dark thoughts are banished! Dark thoughts do not exist! 3DS Friend Code: 4167-4477-3810 (The picture of my OC in the profile icon was created by MrBrandonMac. Steve Piranha 29,443 June 11, 2015 Share June 11, 2015 You know like no reflection or sparkling in the sunlight. No, because she became a hybrid of a bat which just happens to be called a vampire in name only. In real life, there are also bats called vampires, but that's because they actually drink blood, and not because they are supernatural creatures, therefore, they are no more vulnerable to sunlight than other bats Sig by Discords
Pastel 7,630 June 11, 2015 Share June 11, 2015 You mean Flutterbat? Because Twilight turned her back to normal, and except the fang (that we will probably never see again), she's just a pegasus now. Also, I don't think fruit bats have this kind of traits in MLP... Maybe they fear sunlight, but Fluttershy clearly doesn't.
dekutree64 713 June 11, 2015 Share June 11, 2015 She does still have fangs, as far as we know. And maybe she does sparkle, but her coat obscures it
Jeremiah 1,586 June 11, 2015 Share June 11, 2015 (edited) But.. at the end of the episode we see Fluttershy have a fang so... it may lie dormant within her still Edited October 17, 2015 by SunsetMaster
The Awesome One 1,315 June 11, 2015 Share June 11, 2015 She was never a vampire to begin with. Just became a mixture of a fruit bat and a pony.
Cirrus. 1,090 October 17, 2015 Share October 17, 2015 (edited) I know this thread is a little dated, but I randomly watched the episode again and got to thinking about how vampires aren't supposed to have a reflection. Soooo... If that were the case Twilight's plan wouldn't have worked. I bet she would have had to send for Celestia. That probably would have been a funny letter "Dear Princess Celestia" In a rather unfortunate turn of events, I have ended up turning Fluttershy into a vampire fruit batpony. Attempts at remedying this situation have been unsuccessful. I believe that I may require your assistance. Your Faithful Student, Twilight Sparkle P.S. Please don't hate me." Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,803 October 17, 2015 Share October 17, 2015 You know, I really wish they would touch on that a bit. I feel like it is something they will forget about now, or at least forget about it in the actual FiM world. I just think it would be cool to have Fluttershy go into that 'form' every once in a while and have that freak all the ponies out hardcore, considering how much different Flutterbat is in comparison. Or better yet, have Fluttershy still be conscious while being Flutterbat, that would be interesting. I don't know, I just want to see it be explored more. As for the original question, Vampire Fruit Bats don't have vampire qualities, except the fangs and the destruction of fruits, which that is also not a vampire quality. Unlikeable Pony 2,698 October 17, 2015 Share October 17, 2015 Fluttershy already has a hypnotizing stare and control of animals, what more do you want?
Unlikeable Pony 2,698 October 17, 2015 Share October 17, 2015 I really hope the writers explore that fang she has. Eh, I would expect anything from it. It just a nice throwaway gag. besides, they already did the "Flutterbat returns!" plotline in the comics.
Silver Stream. 708 October 17, 2015 Share October 17, 2015 I don't think writer will ever explore the fangs they showed at the end of the episode. In fact, that was just a little teaser to screw with the fans which I find amusing. she would have vampire qualities either since she wasn't a vampire to begin with...she was just a fruitbat basically. sweetolebob18 728 October 19, 2015 Share October 19, 2015 I saw a fanfic where she was a vampire & Angel Bunny was her master (like Bunnicula, I suppose). It explains why she puts up w his attitude & where she got the Flutterstare. Also, not all fictional vampires are incapable of enduring sunlight. It's traditional, but some writers don't have it. Cloud Strife 928 October 19, 2015 Share October 19, 2015 If they do explore it, they certainly won't be exploring whether or not it would make her a vampire. Because she wasn't one. She was mixed with a fruit bat. AVATAR | SIGNATURE
UnknownFry 169 October 19, 2015 Share October 19, 2015 (edited) Not really given that Twilight "fixed" the problem by the end of Bats, but as others pointed out she is not a vampire! And yes those fangs were a throwaway gag. Edited October 19, 2015 by UnknownFry
