general questions Viruses downloaded while visiting my profile?

Well not too long ago before the banner change. I was using the Mozilla Firefox web browser and all of the sudden when I went to visit my profile avast was detecting viruses each time I refreshed the page. However I switched over to Chrome and I am no longer having this issue... I'm just oddly curious what could have happened there? I'm not really sure but I'm doing a virus scan at the moment with Avast and am hoping it doesn't happen. Have you all heard of any cases like this before here?

I didn't catch the name of said threat however it just happened once in Chrome and now nothing is happening anymore. Very strange Avast said each one was blocked but it just raises a bit of alarm because I've never had that happen here.

I was just thinking about switching my Antivirus upon doing some research with the problem I was having and others had said the very same.
