Have any of you ''grown out'' of MLP?

Yeah, the show just doesn't do it for me anymore like it used to back in 2012. I find it hard to watch an episode for more than 3 minutes nowadays. Despite not being interested in the show anymore though, I still like the fandom; the community, the fanart, fanfiction, music, etc..

I still think the show is alright. I wasn't super hardcore into the show to begin with as I didn't start watching the show till somepoint at the end of S3 though i've heard of some of the things that went off in the early days of the fandom i almost regret missing out on. XD

Another thing for me personally is how pleasant MLP:FiM was and still is to watch and to be fair i've yet to see anything else really draw my attention the way it initially did.

Also, some fandom content is pretty awesome.

Maybe when I was a little girl, I got rid of all my ponies because I thought I was too old for them. 8 years later, I regret it.

I love MLP so much, and I don't think i'll be leaving this community for a long long time. MLP is very special to me, and I have what feels like an emotional connection with all the characters. I couldn't just leave. My Little Pony makes me so happy! I hope I never grow out of MLP to be totally honest. The writers, artists, song writers, animators, etc are all amazing here and make such good quality stuff to make this community so much fun, I could never get bored! 3 years strong, many more to go!

I really don't think this show will be something that I could ever 'grow out of'. It is a wonderful show and that will pretty much always stick with me and it has changed my life in many different ways. So I am still just as into the show as I was when I started. :) Depression and anxiety can sometimes make it a bit more difficult to enjoy but I am still just as obsessed with it as I have always been.

I used to watch the original G1, didnt care for 2 or 3 *still dont* and had it not been for the quality of G4, I wouldnt be back now. But way back in my pea-brain, ive always kept that spark alive, even if for no one but myself

I just started following the show a month ago.  I'm 25, and will hopefully have a license to practice law in a few months.  The newness is definitely still fresh and I do geek out/squee (something I never thought I'd do for colorful ponies as a red-blooded American male that enjoys stereotypical male things).

A year from now?  Who knows, but I'm enjoying everything in the fandom very much right now.

I've been in a number of fandoms over the years. I find that generally (this is a general super generalization of generalness) you tend to stay longer in ones you're invested in, eg. creating fanart/fics/whatever.

I started watching the series since 2014 so im still "new" to this fandom  . Equestria Girls is what makes me come to MLP in the first place  :D then Rainbow Rocks give me strength to pass season 1 :P  (i didnt really like the 1st half of season 1  ) and then... im here now =]]. i watched straight from begin to the end ss 4 so Im not some Lauren Faust Worshippers or some ss2 master race fanatics  :derp: Even though i admited season 2 still the best season in my book but i like 4 past seasons and half of season 5 so far. Some horrible episodes like Princess Spike tested my loyalty over time but I'm still loyal to this show and  i will follow it even in darkest hour :fiery: .

FIM is the only one long-running series that i'm watching right now.

I've been a fan for over two and a half years and I'm still just as into it as I was then. This show to me is still somethin' else.

Like every single thing that I like, my interest in MLP wanes and comes back up every few months or weeks or so. I'm always in the mood for some particular thing and more interested in it than others at any given moment, and right now, that thing is MLP. I had a phase where I was disillusioned with it due to a continuous series of terrible events that happened with me regarding the fandom. However, I've become increasingly lonely and finding less and less things to do with my immense amount of free time. Further, creating MLP art is the only thing I get paid for, even if it's a small amount that can't really support anyone. I basically derive some sense of worth mostly from MLP-related content as that seems to be the primary reason people pay attention to me. Thus, my interest in it at this moment is at one of its highs.

Although it helps that I've been re-watching episodes of the show lately and have been reminded of what made the earlier seasons awesome and why the series has this little spark of magic that both attracts and impresses me with minor details. Lastly, I really liked the Season 5 premiere, so that also started the re-igniting of my interest in the series.

Of course, that will change. It always does. But that's just my nature. I am a constantly shifting entity who needs variety to remain interested in my own existence.

That's a funny question.

If we'd grown out of it, we wouldn't be here right now :P

I disagree tbh. I feel pretty similar to the op. i don't hate the show and I still watch it occasionally and I like but don't think they are up to the same standard. I don't rewatch new eps even though i still record them., Seems like some of the maturity is missing from the fandom and far too many meme chasers. Silly youtube comments and videos are now the norm. Worst part is I don't feel the strong community connection i felt before. It feels like i could die in a car crash and no one would even know (or care). Everytime i come to an mlp forum to see if i still find good conversations and i'm often disappointed by what's posted.

So what I am saying is that there are probably many people who visit mlp forums because it's a familiar home and we still like but don't love the show and the fandom. I think many people are saying long and drawn out goodbyes.

I remember I use to be super excited about the show when I first discovered it, I watched every episode twice (when it was only up to season 3) and I would watch youtubers like Jack T Herbet and Ratchetness and read a heap of fanfics and is was the most amazing thing ever and I'm so glad it was my first fandom ever!

But now these forums are all I really do with the fandom is browse the forums, even now I still havent seen the 100th episode or past that. Its kinda upsetting really, losing all the exitement, but I guess every fandom needs to mature.

I'm pretty much done with it. I only watch episodes if they sound interesting or have a villain in it.
