Said the person who's strongest argument is "Einstein is dead". If you can't imagine a living Einstein, why should we imagine a real Twilight?

I'll give Einstein life the moment you concede that Twilight exists. x3

I am of the opinion that the two cannot fairly be compared. They exist in different worlds entirely, and as far as we are aware, Equestria could have a completely different set of physical laws from ours.

Though, if I were forced to pick just based on a hunch, I would say Einstein. His studies were a career, where Sparkle's are merely hobbyist.

Twilight is knowledgeable in fake pony logic, Einstein is knowledgeable in real human logic.

For example... Twilight would say ponies control the weather, which is true in her world, and Einstein would say the weather "works on its own" (to put it in short terms) which is true in our world.

OHHHHH IRREFUTABLE ARGUMENT

This is the best argument in the entire thread.  Therefor you win the internet.

"muh multiverse theory!!!"

Sorry man but cartoons aren't real, no one ever told you that? You can't just argue Twilight is real and then refuse to pretend Einstein is alive for the sake of a theoretical scenario

This is the best argument in the entire thread.  Therefor you win the internet.

Yay!

We have a new challenger!

grasping for straws

Also he said Einstein's corpse is dumber than Twilight. Don't twist his words =)

You'll find that straws are not exceedingly difficult to grasp.  Though you've actually made no argument yourself.

I did not twist his words; I left them largely as they were.  In saying that Einstein's corpse is dumber than Twilight, he also said that Einstein (the dead one - which he is) is dumber than Twilight.  Einstein's corpse is the dead Einstein, because the living Einstein - in ceasing to live - became his corpse.

It is a reference to how Einstein supposedly had trouble with certain forms of math in his younger years, I don't know if it is true or not but either way he sure didn't suck at in adulthood.

I know what it's referring to. It's just that it's not true.

So what if I've made no argument? Have you bothered to actually read my previous posts? You'd find out then what my stance on this is.

Uuuuh except youre wrong buddy you did twist his words. You claimed he admitted EINSTEIN was dumber than Twilight when he in fact said Einstein's CORPSE was dumber so check your privilege

Yamet did not tag me in I stumbled in on this and saw you were somewhat deluded on this subject

"Refuse to pretend Einstein is alive."  I find it amusing that this statement appears in the same post where you think you're doling out a reality check.

If cartoons weren't real, you wouldn't be able to watch them.  Because they would not exist.  If MLP:FIM does not exist, this MLP:FIM-based forum does not exist.  In which case you didn't just post anything and have made no argument.  Your existence - or at least presence on this forum - is inextricably tied to the existence of cartoons.

He said that Einsteins corpse is dumber then a real Twilight. Unfortunately Twilight isn't real.

But there's books about a living Einstein. Therefor he is real.

"Theoretical scenario" -- I know very well it isn't real!

Context is key, in this sense when I mention the word"real", it takes the meaning of "physically existing in the realm of living humans"

"Physically existing in the realm of living humans."  So if all living humans were to die out (and no living humans replaced them), nothing in what had been their realm could be considered real?  And does air physically exist?  It's intangible and invisible.  If something has to physically exist in order to be real, there's a good deal that's real that doesn't exist.

But there's books about a living Einstein. Therefor he is real.

And there are books containing Twilight Sparkle.  Therefore, both book Einstein (not the same as dead Einstein) and book Twilight Sparkle exist.  Now if only any of us possessed anywhere near the mental capacity to actually judge the intelligence of the two. :/  Since this is such an important and relevant matter about which you and some others care deeply.

You digress from the original topic

This is the realm we, you and I, and all the other homo sapiens live on, so to us it is the realm we live in- the realm of living humans (which is what it's going to be called now I guess)

If we were to all die out, then it wouldn't cease to exist to us because we are dead and no longer able to posses thoughts or senses. But it would still exist to plants and other animals

Quit being a smartass because you realized how flawed your logic is.

My logic was, originally, that a corpse cannot be smarter than anything.  There is no flaw in this logic whatsoever, and neither you nor anyone else has so much as begun to debunk it.  Much of the rest was my having fun with my good buddy Gestum and company. x3

And do try and word what you say in a manner that isn't so irresistibly vulnerable.

In the field of magic, Twilight is smarter.

In the field of science, Mr. Einstein is smarter.

Mainly because magic, apart from basic parlor tricks, is unknown to us humans.

"Einstein is stupid cuz he's dead! But Twilight Sparkle is smarter because she exists in a cartoon!" BULLET PROOF LOGIC

It's been debunked since like page 1... you've just ignored what everyone said because you want to believe ponies exist.

Here's something for you: My Little Pony is written by humans. Which makes Twilight Sparkle as smart as the writers for My Little Pony. They're definitely not stupid at all, but I've never heard of any of them making revolutionary scientific breakthroughs.

Do you assert that corpses are intelligent?

The subject of the topic could have been the intelligence of Einstein vs. the intelligence of a lab rat (and I made such a comparison at one point), and I could have still made the same successful argument.  A living lab rat is more intelligent than a corpse; no matter whose corpse it is.

If the abilities of the characters were limited to what the writers themselves were capable of, all works of fiction would be utterly boring.  Gandalf, a great wizard from the works of Tolkien, could do extraordinary things; things of an obviously magical nature.  So far as I am aware, Tolkien did not himself practice magic.  The abilities of the character far exceeded that of the author.

I never said corpses are intelligent. There you go again putting words in people's mouths. You're outright denying Einstein's contributions to mankind.

Tolkien is very knowledgeable in LoTR magic... because he made it up!

MLP writers are very knowledgeable on MLP magic because they made it up! They say Celestia raises the sun and in the MLP cartoon that is true.

Well the two are kind of dissimilar. Are we talking straight IQ here, test scores? (If so, Twilight beats the pants off of Albert, but I don't think that's fair.)

Einstein was brilliant at the conceptual and high minded levels of science but he struggled with the very basics of mathematics. Twilight, on the other hoof, is very detailed oriented and meticulous but sometimes fails to grasp the big picture until it's made clear to her.

Twilight didn't forsee time paradoxes when she went time traveling.

Einstein wins. :3

EDIT: Funny how this thread turned into something completely different. :3 Can't you guys just go with "both of them are real and alive and here, and which one is smarter"?

I decided that Twilight Sparkle is very smart and intelligent about magic including all subjects, and now she's a princess as in 2013.

Princess Twilight Sparkle always do legendary stuff with magic in Equestria. Time to blast from the past.

Albert Einstein is inferior human scum. Ponies are superior, even the weak magical unicorn foal known as Sweet Belle could take seven billion nuclear bombs to the face and be fine. Twilight Sparkle is best overpowered magical horse! She is vastly superior than evil and stupid human scum.

Seriously though, both are intelligent in their own way. I'm pretty sure Twilight would fall in love with Einstein and write ship fan fictions with herself and Albert together.

One might argue that Einstein's corpse is a dead Einstein.  This takes us back into non-corporeal, possibly "ghost" territory.  Because corporeal Einstein is pretty quiet these days.  Regardless, I'm glad to finally hear you admit that Einstein is dumber than Twilight.

So your strongest argument is that "corporeal Einstein is pretty quit these days"? That's pretty funny considering that Twilight isn't saying very much either.  Regardless, I'm glad to finally hear you admit that Twilight doesn't exist.
