That character can work, and yeah, I'll allow a bat-pony, although a rather quick transformation has already been decided, feel free to go into extensive detail with your first post.

One more detail I forget to mention about Silverwing's form. He has the build of an Athletic Mare. So anypony who doesn't already know him and has heard him speak will think him a mare, till they look between the legs or hear him speak. Female pony shapes are best shapes in my book. I've had late joiners and i don't mind going through the transformations with your pony if you want. Otherwise you could jump in as part of the group or wake up alone in the field where everyone was teleported from the human world. the choice is yours.
