Weird Laws from where you live

This is a place to post about weird laws from where you live!

I live in Nevada:

It is illegal to drive a camel on the highway.

What would happen that you'd need a law for this?

  What about you?

Let see... You must wear a shirt while driving... (Thailand) Which is pretty bad considering Thailand is pretty hot during the day.

I think there's more of it but I'm not quite sure...

Here's a few.  Tennessee

Sec. 19-132. Expectoration. - Knoxville, and most other Tennessee cities

No person in the city shall expectorate on any sidewalk or street, upon any floor in any public building, or upon any other public place. (Code 1962, § 28-501)

Sec. 5-13. Riding or herding animals on median strip separating traffic lanes. - Knoxville

No person shall ride or herd any animals on any median strip separating traffic lanes on any city street.

This is what I like to call the Andrew Jackson clause.

Constitution of the State of Tennessee

Article IX Disqualifications

Sec. 3. Duelists shall hold no office.

Any person who shall, after the adoption of this Constitution, fight a duel, or knowingly be the bearer of a challenge to fight a duel, or send or accept a challenge for that purpose, or be an aider or abettor in fighting a duel, shall be deprived of the right to hold any office of honor or profit in this State, and shall be punished otherwise, in such manner as the Legislature may prescribe.

(edited)

It's illegal in Port Coquitlam to let cattle roam the street freely.

It sounds like a silly law, but it makes sense if you know some of the more northerly parts of PoCo near the Pitt canal where farms are, where if people could let their gates open, cattle might be major disturbances to some roadways. But the fact that the City has to specify means something either very funny or very unfortunate happened in the past.

Apparently where I live which is Virginia it's illegal to tickle women, it's illegal to hunt any animal on Sundays with the exception of raccoons which may be hunted until 2 AM, and police radar detectors are illegal.

This is a little NSFW but I don't think it violates any real rules of the forums

In Texas it is illegal to own or use six or more dildos at a time. It is a felony offense.

The actual law is below.

CHAPTER 43. PUBLIC INDECENCY
SUBCHAPTER B. OBSCENITY

§ 43.21. Definitions

(1) "Obscene" means material or a performance that:

(B) depicts or describes:

(i) patently offensive representations or descriptions of ultimate sexual acts, normal or perverted, actual or simulated, including sexual intercourse, sodomy, and sexual bestiality; or

(ii) patently offensive representations or descriptions of masturbation, excretory functions, sadism, masochism, lewd exhibition of the genitals, the male or female genitals in a state of sexual stimulation or arousal, covered male genitals in a discernibly turgid state or a device designed and marketed as useful primarily for stimulation of the human genital organs; and

© taken as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic, political, and scientific value.

(2) "Material" means anything tangible that is capable of being used or adapted to arouse interest, whether through the medium of reading, observation, sound, or in any other manner, but does not include an actual three dimensional obscene device.

(3) "Performance" means a play, motion picture, dance, or other exhibition performed before an audience.

(4) "Patently offensive" means so offensive on its face as to affront current community standards of decency.

(6) "Wholesale promote" means to manufacture, issue, sell, provide, mail, deliver, transfer, transmit, publish, distribute, circulate, disseminate, or to offer or agree to do the same for purpose of resale.

(7) "Obscene device" means a device including a dildo or artificial vagina, designed or marketed as useful primarily for the stimulation of human genital organs.

(B) If any of the depictions or descriptions of sexual conduct described in this section are declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be unlawfully included herein, this declaration shall not invalidate this section as to other patently offensive sexual conduct included herein.

In Pittsburgh, PA, where I'm from, there's 2 really odd laws:

Sleeping on or in a refrigerator is illegal

Singing in the shower is (technically) illegal
