Ziggy + Angel + Rain 11,303 July 15, 2015 Share July 15, 2015 Shouldn't he be dead? I kinda hope he's dead. Or that he shows up and dies suddenly. "It uses the faculty of what you call imagination. So long as he is dead at the current point in the timeline. xD Somepony could find his skull, beard somehow intact. 1 "It uses the faculty of what you call imagination. Justin_Case001 4,908 July 15, 2015 Share July 15, 2015 I think the movie should open with Starswirl. He should be the first character we see. After a bit, we'd realize that it's a flashback, maybe even before the Sisters were born or something. Then we'd snap back to present day (where'd he'd be dead), but we'd find out that some important part of the story relates to something we saw him do in the opening scene. Something like that would be great.
Grepper 3,193 July 15, 2015 Share July 15, 2015 I agree. If Starswirl the Bearded does appear in the show/movie, the appearance should be very dramatic.
PoisonClaw 8,166 July 15, 2015 Share July 15, 2015 Doesn't matter if his entrance is dramatic or not (if he ever does show up that is...), Twilight's still going to fangasm all the same. Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,955 July 15, 2015 Share July 15, 2015 That's if he ever appears. I mean, sure, eventually he may show up but I am kinda surprised we have gone this long without seeing any major appearance of him, be it flashbacks, random and sudden appearance or perhaps both. He should appear suddenly and say 'Meh', then poofs away again. That would be dramatic for a split second and then boom, super buzz kill.
EMT Brony 65 July 15, 2015 Share July 15, 2015 Shouldn't he be dead? I kinda hope he's dead. Or that he shows up and dies suddenly. Not necessarily, he lived before Equestria was founded and saw the advent of alicorns. He had knowledge of time travel and could at least open rifts to at last one different dimension. That being said who's to say how much of his magic he shared compared to what he knew.
Castle Bleck 19,390 July 15, 2015 Share July 15, 2015 He de-aged himself in The Journal Of The Two Sisters and could presumably do so semi-regularly (provided he didn't try to move the sun and the moon anymore). For all we know, he's retired in some custom pocket dimension like Discord and watching Equestria through a magic mirror or something. Maybe he survived the falling rock. But his horn was significantly damaged in the process, and the rest of his body was pinned underneath the object. Far from aid and unable to use his magic to remove the rock, he died of thirst. His skull remained intact, and Twilight can examine it in order to deduce how Starsquirm met his end. But you're stretching with the fantasies of the ponies dying. You fail to note even in older years ponies they have bursts of energy when needed. But you're clearly a troll looking for shock value. keep on trollin'.
Pinkamena-Pills 6,839 July 16, 2015 Share July 16, 2015 He will appear as a final or semi-final boss, because cliche reasons. Either that or during a beam struggle or a losing battle he will appear randomly as a ghost/phantom and tell Twilight & mane 6 some encouraging words that will magically help them gain the power to beat whatever. Who knows. I don't care how he appears, i just hope he's not closely related to Twilight Sparkle's family lineage, that will bloody bug me to no end. 1 Oatmeal, are you crazy?! I just genuinely dislike Starsquirm the Beergut; which is why I've bestowed upon him such a flattering nickname. I blame him and his half-assed spell for the nonsensical Cutie Mark swap in "Magical Mystery Cure" (one of my least favorite episodes). Generally speaking, I don't like the idea of the ponies coming to any significant harm, but Starsquirm and other stallions have never been much in my favor.
