Spike's "dream" form

Anyone else find Spike's fantasy version of himself from A dog and pony show, and recently in DPDOMS kind of ugly? Like, I really liked most of the dream stuff going on, and seeing callbacks to power ponies and flutterbat, but I just think Spike's idealized version of himself looks pretty ugly.

Not that I wouldn't like to see a really cool adult form for him (Love fanart of him like that!), but I just think that design is just pretty awkward looking.

 

 

 

(On that note, whats your thoughts on them ever having spike turn into an adult in the show in something longer than a one shot gag or the Greed thing from SOME?)

I don't really like Spike, so I didn't like his dream transformation either.

To be fair, the design is from a pretty cheesy segment from that episode, it was supposed to be cheesy and cliche. I found them using the design again to be rather funny, it is a baby dragon we are talking about here, he probably couldn't think of much else at the time.

Eh, its the ideal male form from the eyes of a child. It's bound to look somewhat silly. It's kinda the point.

I think his dream form was meant to be cheesy, cliche, look incredible to Rarity, fulfill those silly pony fantasies about knights in shining armour without actually being named Shining Armour and generally be some weird hybrid between an older dragon form and an idealized adult pony.

 

But, hey, he got to ride giant Ditzy Doo into battle like a boss!

That was one of the biggest highlights for the entire episode for me! XD Knight in Shining Armor Spike valiantly ride the Amazing Super Derpy! It Was  really cute. :3

I rather liked it..... A good nod to season 1.... Sure the design itself is stupid and ugly, but that's what it was meant to be.
