Tagged with spoiler because I'm sure discussion of the episode may spoil it to some out there who have not seen it. Yes, I've just seen this episode after forever (sue me, I'm just not as into the show as I was) and I have to say that after a pretty lackluster season thus far and everyone insisting this was "the best episode ever", I was extremely disappointed with it.

Thus far episode 100 had to have been the worst episode I have seen thus far. It really had no "plot". It was a mishmash of a bunch of random events in town thrown into one episode with every possible grab at brony references it could get. Regardless of how pointless and dumb they were (such as Bon Bon being a secret agent). It felt like the show creators threw caution to the wind and pumped out this rather gimmicky poorly executed episode for bronies to keep as a trophy as if to say "here, we finally wrote an episode just for you." And really the quality of the episode suffered for it. The whole episode's "comedy" was based solely on reference jokes and nods to bronies. It at least gave us a peak into what an episode would be like if bronies wrote one.

 

Then that REAAAAAALLY stupid fourth wall breaking speech at the end, to place the icing on the gimmick cake. Honestly, I hope they never make another "brony" episode again if they come out at this quality. It's sad enough that they made one, but I suppose they really needed the ratings or something. The fandom nods were far too much, and the episode has little appeal to non-bronies like me. It's thus far my least favorite episode of season 5 and my least favorite episode overall.

 

The episode can best be summed up by this scene:

 

 

Just imagine it on repeat. Because as Ashens once said: they are not only jumping the shark at this point, they are metaphorically hopping on top of it repeatedly.
