So I'm havin two problems with my desktop computer. First of all, I think my video card fell out of its slot a few weeks ago because I have not been able to get my display options to recognize the 1920x1080 aspect recommended by my monitor. I did the windows 10 upgrade a couple of weeks ago. Everything ran fine but the display was still distorted. So last night I got around to opening the tower case and reseating the video card. Now all of a sudden I am getting the notation that no network connections are available and I can't access Internet.

I have Googled my fingers off, I've updated drivers, I've uninstalled, I've tried restore points, unseating and reseating the cards, rebooting, turning off firewall and avast and nothing works.

Is my video card and wifi adapter card toast? Do I need to buy new ones?

Take a towel with alcohol on it and clean the contacts of your cards. I am assuming that your network card is built into the board. Windows 10 forced updates may have decided to install their own drivers. You may want to look on the manufacturer site and try reinstalling them, same with the video-card. It is also a possibility that your board is old or has be exposed to extreme temperature changes. If this is the case, when you re-seated the cards, you may have broken a trace on the board.

Before taking it to a scam-artist "professional", just try a complete reinstall of Windows 7, and get your drivers from the respective manufactures website.

I also notice that you mentioned your WiFi card, take that out completely and try giving the machine a reboot. In my years working as a tech, I have seen dozens of WiFi cards go bad, and it prevents the computer from working or even booting. Try this first.

Oooh ok so I did use my laptop to find the newest the AMD driver for win10. That worked once I installed it and fixed the issue of 1920x1080 aspect. It looks much better now.

In order to reboot without the wifi card, do I need some type of cord to connect to the router,or are you suggesting to just let it boot up once to the desktop?

Gd, evidently there is absolutely no support past win7 for my wireless adapter. The ralink driver didn't do anything. Guess I'm on the hunt for a new card. Thanks for sucking, linksys.
